I nearly tripped over my own feet mid stride when a blue screen appeared in front of me.
I could only stare in shock as the writing continued to pop up on the screen.

"Holy shit." I stared at the blue screen in front of me.
"A system? Like in those isekai mangas and video games?"
'So not only have a transmigrated into Sawamura Eijun. I also got a system as well?!' I clenched my fists tightly. 'This is crazy!'
I finally realised I was still in the middle of the hallway and quickly looked around to see if there was anyone around. I then quickly sprinted towards the bathroom.
I checked each of the cubicles to see if there was anyone else inside and found that it was empty.
I went into one of them and locked the door.
I looked back at the blue screen where another menu popped up in front of him.

My interest was peaking as I looked at the screen. 'This is insane! Absolutely Insane!' I thought with a wide grin on my face.
'Let's check out this message first. Uh… do I just press it?' I moved my hand towards the message and clicked it.
A moment later, the screen brought up another window.

Tears started to pour down my face as I read the message.
'Thank you… whoever you are… just thank you for giving me this opportunity. I will not waste it!'
A glint in my eye flickered and a determined expression formed on my face as I wiped the tears away.
'I will not waste this opportunity!'
I scrolled down the message to the bottom when I saw a symbol of a present flashing.
'What's this?' I clicked on the symbol and another message popped up.

"No way! That's an insane gift! Thank you!" I said.
As if hearing his thanks, text began to appear on the screen.

Even just looking at the text, I could feel I slight smug tone in those words.
I laughed a little.
'Can you even hear my thoughts?'

'Okay good. I wouldn't want people to think I'm crazy when I talked to myself.'

'So, what are the options of the skills I can choose from… Do you have a name? I don't want to call you 'The Ace System'.

"Hmmm…" I wondered what a good name for the system would be.
'How about Max? It's unisex and it coincides with level progression in a video game.'

I sighed a little in relief, surprised that Max liked the name so much. Normally in mangas and novels the system always seemed to hate the names given from the characters at first.
'Okay so about those skill options…'

My eyes widened as I looked at the list of skills. 'Those are some tough choices.'
Sawamura's wind up form after Chris-senpai's training was indeed a formidable skill. It was one of Sawamura's mostt reliable traits that helped him from the beginning of the manga. Using his flexible joints to whip the ball to a pitch from behind his back in a sharp motion which made the ball not seen by the batter until it was already released towards them.
Sawamura's Change Up was also a great weapon to have. Using an off-speed pitch and his first breaking ball helped him develop immensely.
But when I looked at the final skill, my finger was already hovering over it to touch it. Sawamura's improved cutter was one of if not the most game changing pitch in his arsenal. It had such a sharp cut that it disappeared in front of the batter's eyes right in front of them.
'Max, no matter what I choose from these options. If I train hard enough, can I still develop the other skills further in the future?' I asked

I clicked on the option for Sawamura's improved cutter.

I instantly had information inputted into my brain in a flash. Every detail about the improved cutter was freshly ingrained into my thoughts and body. Even down to the minor details.
As soon as the information was fully established in my head, I felt liberated. It felt like I had years of training of one pitch seared into my memories all at once.
