"Good morning… well, not exactly, but still, good morning," Destiny said with a soft smile.
"Yeah, yeah, good morning. Also, sorry for fainting, but it wasn't my fault," Vespar grumbled, irritated. "So, why'd you bring me outside the boundary of time and space? I'm guessing it's not just to drink tea and eat sweets."
"Ha-ha, no, no. I didn't bring you here for tea—I've got plenty of friends for that. I have a better job for you," Destiny said, crossing her legs as she sat in a chair. A cup of tea appeared in her hand.
"Let's get on with the explanation. As my name implies, I'm Destiny—literally. I've summoned you here for a task that only you can do, considering your peculiar personality," she continued, taking a sip of her tea. She waved her hand, and a cup of coffee appeared in Vespar's hand, gesturing for him to drink.
"As your memories would hinder the task, I erased them—well, they were pretty awful anyway—but you'll still remember what you've learned and the skills you possess. You just won't remember the people you met or had any connections with," Destiny explained.
Vespar sipped his coffee, listening intently. He could remember everything except the people—just as Destiny said. He didn't mind, though. There weren't any pleasant memories to recall, even though he was from a prestigious family.
"So, what's this task you want me to do? Anything heroic like saving the world or defeating some big monster?" Vespar asked, his face expectant.
"Well, the task lies somewhere between saving the world and defeating a monster. The monster is already defeated by the protagonist of that world, but he's blinded by the power and prestige he gained after completing his 'work.' His arrogance has clouded his mind, thinking no one can dethrone him, which has led him to commit atrocities far beyond what any monster in that realm could do. And the gods? Well, they're hypocrites who think sacrificing low-level people is fine, rather than eliminating a corrupt, high-level protagonist. It's the same in the realm of gods—lower-level gods are often cast aside," Destiny said, her expression sending a shiver down Vespar's spine.
As the ornate box flew toward her, it opened on its own, and a small orb landed gently in her palm. She turned toward Vespar.
"This orb contains a consciousness of its own. It will help you fit into the new world you'll be entering." She finished speaking, and the orb flew toward Vespar's chest, being absorbed effortlessly.
With a mechanical hum, a voice echoed in his mind.

[Forming a bond...]
[Bonding complete...]
[Hello, host. I am an organism created by Lady Destiny to assist you with your objective. I will provide you with information on anything you need to know. You may address me as [Nyx].]
"Looks like the bonding is complete. Now, remember one thing," Destiny said. "I'll make it so that the gods and the protagonist will ignore your existence, but if you go and face the guy directly, they'll see you, and they'll know that I sent you to eliminate their 'chosen one.' Be careful, or we'll meet face-to-face again in the circle of reincarnation—or worse, they'll destroy your soul."
Vespar, now full of questions, spoke again.
"What will I get after I eliminate their so-called 'chosen one'? What will the gods do then?" His worry about what lay ahead was clear.
"The gods will be irritated but won't act directly. Instead, they'll send another 'chosen one,' since their hands are tied by the 'Supreme One' of that realm. They can't interfere directly with the world's inhabitants." Destiny shrugged.
"As for you, you'll be free to do whatever you want, but don't walk the path of the gods' 'chosen one.' If you do, I'll have to choose another to eliminate you." Destiny's voice turned stern.
"Hey, hey, don't look at me like that. I won't do anything like that. I don't take pleasure in watching others suffer—unless they hurt someone precious to me, so don't worry about that. Also, will I be able to meet you after you send me down there?" Vespar spoke nervously.
"Hmm, that's good, then." Destiny nodded. "Nyx can connect with me, so we can converse over there—but it'll only be once a month, since I have a lot of work. Now, are you ready to begin your journey?"
"Hey, how am I supposed to earn money in that world? It'd help if you could lend me some right now." Vespar scratched his head.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that," Destiny said, snapping her fingers. "Here, 10,000 gold coins. This should help you for a while. Also, keep this dimension bag—it has infinite capacity, but you can only store objects, not living organisms. If you do, consider them dead, as their air supply will be cut off." A bag appeared in her hand, and she handed it to him.
"This will help a lot. Thanks. Well then, time to save the world!" Vespar cracked his neck.
"Safe travels, Vespar. Be victorious. And remember, if you ever feel down, Destiny is on your side," Destiny said as a magic circle appeared beneath Vespar.
"Save your asses, guys. Vespar Dawnshade is out hunting!" Vespar exclaimed, excitement dripping from every word.
