Chapter 1 - Awakened in the Endgame

"Takashi."

"Wake up, Takashi."

"KOMURO TAKASHI!"

Alright, alright! No need to yell, man. My head's pounding like I partied with a jackhammer.

I force my eyes open. Everything's blurry as hell. Pretty sure I was out cold for a while.

I blink a few times. Faces. A bunch of them. Some familiar, some totally not.

"What the hell…?" My throat feels like sandpaper. I need water. Or a soda. Or a restart button.

"Get out," a voice growls from the centre of the room. Dude's got that tone that makes it real obvious my presence here is as welcome as a pop-up ad.

Wait. That guy… he looks familiar. Why does he look familiar? And why do I suddenly feel like I just got smacked upside the head by—

PAIN.

I clutch my head as a tidal wave of memories slams into me like a rigged gacha pull. Unexpected and straight-up painful.

And then it clicks.

And then it clicks.

I look around again. The people. The school. The background music in my head suddenly going full anime OST.

Oh no.

Oh hell no.

OH HELL TO THE NO.

I know these people. I know this school.

"Get out," the guy repeats, now sounding fully done with my entire existence.

Yeah, yeah, I'm going. No need to be dramatic, dude.

I stumble toward the door, mutter a half-assed "Sorry" out of instinct, and step into the hallway.

Leaning against the wall, I exhale like an old man discovering taxes exist.

"What the hell is going on…?"

Alright. Deep breaths. We break this down like a bad Webtoon plot.

I'm Komuro Takashi. Cool. Normal. Mid-tier protagonist energy.

But plot twist—I just remembered my past life.

And it sucks.

Turns out I was a gang member. Not the cool, 'runs the block' kind. Nah. I was the background NPC of crime. No plot armour. No plot relevance. Just… vibes.

And that's not even the worst part.

This world?

Fictional.

Like, full anime x Marvel x 'why me' level crossover.

Depending on how you wanna look at it, I'm either the main character… or the test subject for a bored god binge-watching multiverse chaos.

And the kicker?

It's Marvel.

Yeah. Marvel. As in X-Men, mutants, Thanos, snapped half the universe, somehow Tony Stark didn't get PTSD therapy Marvel.

Oh no.

Oh f—

F*.

Okay, deep breaths. Calm down. You've handled worse—

Wait, no I haven't.

I haven't dealt with mind readers, reality-warpers, or flaming cosmic chickens. What do you even do when someone has a power called Omega-Level Mutant? Ask them politely?

Just knowing about mutants was already a mind trip, but I could stomach that.

But now?

Now mutants are the least of my problems.

Because I remember who else exists here.

Like a certain purple raisin with a god complex who thinks he's the intergalactic HR manager and wants to reduce the universal headcount.

Fifty-fifty RNG to the face. Fair and balanced.

Like a Thanos snap.

"Oh my god—"

No, scratch that. Forget God.

There's plenty of them out there, but they can't help me here.

Compared to all that, the anime side actually looks kinda… manageable?

Just your standard zombie apocalypse. You know—bite, die, reanimate, chase schoolgirls. Tuesday stuff.

And yeah. If the name didn't already scream it…

I'm in Highschool of the Dead.

That series. You know the one.

Where physics took a vacation, zombies show up like side quests, and half the screen time is dedicated to fanservice in slow motion.

Great.

Just bloody fantastic.

I need to start preparing.

Especially for the apocalypse.

Yeah, I can't pretend the Marvel side is the only dangerous thing here.

Surviving a zombie outbreak is no joke.

Wait a minute.

Since this is a crossover with Marvel...

Is there a chance this world turns into that zombieverse? The quantum virus one?

Damn.

Screw whoever tossed me into this mess.

This feels like I'm the main character in someone's fanfic.

Only I'm not.

This isn't fiction.

And I don't have plot protection.

I stare at the ceiling like a praying mantis with trust issues.

Then, under my breath, I mutter the sacred chant of every reincarnator, Isekai protagonist, and system-lit reader ever:

"System."

...

Come on. Don't leave me hanging.
