Beside Ethan Hayes, his grimoire floated into the air, releasing a stream of green light. As the brilliance dimmed, a petite figure emerged, suspended gracefully in mid air.
Sharp-pointed ears, golden flowing hair, and an irresistibly cute face made the tiny creature look like a doll come to life.
"Hi there! I'm Master's spirit! Nice to meet you all. You can call me Zephyr!" The tiny figure, full of life, darted around the group, her radiant smile lighting up the atmosphere.
Putting her past behind her, Zephyr was ready to embrace her new life, just as Ethan had encouraged her. It was time to live for herself.
"Kawaii! So adorable!" Vanesa exclaimed, unable to resist Zephyr's charm. She showed a side that went beyond her usual carefree demeanor as she eagerly admired the spirit.
"This is the Wind Spirit? It's hard to believe that such a small creature holds so much magical power," Klaus remarked, adjusting his glasses, his disbelief etched on his face.
The spirit's presence intrigued everyone, even as Asta, who didn't use magic, seemed less impressed by her presence than by something Ethan had said earlier.
"But Ethan, what did you mean when you congratulated Yuno?" Asta asked, tilting his head.
"Exactly!" Yuno added. "This Wind Spirit is yours, not mine. I wouldn't accept it even if you offered it to me."
Ethan chuckled softly at their assumptions. "Send my spirit to someone else? That's not going to happen. But Yuno, why don't you focus and try to connect with your grimoire? You'll understand soon enough."
Though confused, Yuno nodded. He closed his eyes and concentrated, his calm demeanor masking his curiosity.
Zephyr, floating nearby, suddenly tilted her head, her sharp senses catching a faint yet familiar aura emanating from Yuno.
"Hmm… interesting," she murmured to herself.
As Yuno focused, a connection began to form with his grimoire. To his surprise, he sensed a surge of vitality from it—something he'd never felt before. A vibrant energy emerged, akin to a living presence.
Moments later, a whirlwind of wind magic enveloped him. A beam of green light shot out of his grimoire, and when it dissipated, a second tiny figure appeared.
This new spirit had sharp ears, fluttering wings, and features almost identical to Zephyr, save for her unique hair and expression.
Everyone's jaws dropped.
"Another Wind Spirit?" Klaus stammered, his shock evident.
Hovering in midair, the newly emerged spirit rubbed her eyes sleepily. Blinking a few times, she looked around before her gaze settled on Zephyr.
The two stared at each other, one in shock, the other in suspicion.
"Uh… am I looking in a mirror?" the new spirit muttered, bewildered.
"No way!" Zephyr snapped. "You're not me!"
"Of course not! But why are there two Wind Spirits?"
"Explain this, Ethan!" Klaus demanded. "Spirits are supposed to be unique. How can there be two?"
"Simple," Ethan replied. "Spirits are unique, yes, but when one fades, another is born to replace it. Zephyr here is an exception—I saved her. So now there are two Wind Spirits."
Everyone slowly nodded, absorbing the explanation.
Meanwhile, the new Wind Spirit crossed her arms and glared at Zephyr. "Listen up! Yuno is my partner. You're not stealing him from me!"
Zephyr smirked. "Steal? Why would I? Ethan's way cooler. Keep your Yuno."
"Take that back!"
"Make me!"
As the two spirits bickered, the group couldn't help but laugh.
Even Yuno, whose earlier frustration had eased, allowed himself a small smile. He'd gained a spirit, and with it, a renewed determination to keep pace with Ethan. The rivalry between them wasn't over—it had only just begun.
