Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"Kazuki, here's everything I packed for your journey, and some money too! Don't worry about anything back home, just go chase your dreams!"

As soon as Kazuki approached, Delia was already warmly introducing all the items she had carefully packed in his backpack.

"Oh, is this your Pokémon? So cute, what a well-behaved Pikachu!"

"Pika~ Pikachu~"

Recognizing Delia as someone close to Kazuki, Pikachu responded sweetly without letting off any sparks.

"Yup. Together, we're going to win countless honors."

"Mm! You've got this—I believe in you!" Delia's eyes sparkled as she looked at Kazuki, full of hopes for their shared future. "So, when are you heading out?"

"Well, since you've already got everything packed… I'll leave right away!"

"Viridian City's still quite a distance from here! I hope you find a nice place to rest before it gets dark."

"Mmhm, got it. I'll stay safe!"

Delia nodded, then a hint of shyness rose to her cheeks.

"Umm… Kazuki, before you go… can I get a hug?"

She began fidgeting, body slightly trembling.

Kazuki chuckled and opened his arms wide. "Come here, my sweet Delia."

"Hnn~"

Delia quivered as she stepped in. "Ugh, why do you have to call me that even out in public?"

Despite her embarrassment, she dove straight into Kazuki's arms.

Taking in the comforting scent of her hair, Kazuki instinctively gave her soft backside a gentle squeeze.

"Be good and wait for me at home."

"Ah~"

Delia let out a soft moan, then glanced down at Pikachu on the ground before leaning in to whisper into Kazuki's ear:

"I will. I'm your good Delia, after all."

Kazuki gave her back a final pat, exchanged a few more parting words, and then—

with Pikachu by his side—officially began his journey as a Pokémon Trainer.

The closest city to Pallet Town was Viridian City, which would take about a day or two to reach.

Kazuki planned to head there first.

Soon after leaving Pallet Town's outskirts, he spotted several wild Pokémon.

But being near town, most of them scattered as soon as they saw a human.

Once he'd traveled farther out, the wild Pokémon started acting less skittish.

Suddenly, rustling came from a patch of grass up ahead.

Kazuki raised a hand to shade his eyes and squinted. "A bird Pokémon—is that a Pidgey?"

He moved in closer and saw—red wings.

Wait a second—

"Wrong size… and red wings? That's not a Pidgey. That's a Spearow!"

"Pika~ Pika~"

Pikachu, perched on Kazuki's shoulder, looked eager to battle and was ready to take on the Spearow.

But Kazuki, remembering how Spearow operated, didn't act rashly.

He recalled that this lone one likely had an entire flock nearby, just one call away.

Cautiously, Kazuki decided to avoid it.

"Let's leave this one alone, Pikachu. It's probably got a whole group backing it up. We'll look for something that's alone to train with."

"Pika~"

Pikachu obeyed and stayed calmly on Kazuki's shoulder.

Not long after, they heard someone shouting frantically.

"Out of the way! Move!!"

Kazuki turned and saw a girl with orange hair furiously pedaling a bicycle toward him.

Upon closer look, he realized—it was Misty, the female lead of the original series.

Looks like even with him dodging the Spearow earlier and altering the story, fate had its own way of bringing his "heroines" into the picture.

Just as Kazuki was organizing his thoughts on how to talk to her,

he noticed something swarming behind her.

A massive flock of Spearow—

the same ones he had just avoided!

[Ding! Mission Triggered: Rescue Misty, Defeat the Spearow Flock!]

[Mission Reward: Host's physical prowess increased by 50%!]

Oh?

If there's a mission, then I guess this battle's on.

Another physical enhancement reward, huh? Is the system prepping me early for Z-Moves or something?

Kazuki moved aside to let Misty pass, but in her panic, she didn't see a rock ahead.

With a loud bump, she went flying straight toward him.

Kazuki had no choice but to catch her—and his hands landed squarely on her boobs.

Small, but undeniably soft.

Realizing what just happened, Misty flushed scarlet and let out a sharp squeal.

She was about to scold Kazuki when she realized he had just saved her.

The words died in her throat.

"Thanks…"

Before she could say anything more, the Spearow caught up.

"No time to talk—we've got to run! The Spearow are catching up!"

"No need to run. Stay behind me."

Kazuki reached into his system storage and pulled out the Special Grade Light Ball.

Misty panicked when she saw him gearing up to fight.

"Wait, you're not seriously going to fight all of them?! That's a whole flock—it's too dangerous!"

Kazuki flashed a confident grin as he eyed the incoming wave of Spearow.

"Dozens of them? Just EXP bundles! Pikachu, you ready?"

Pikachu had looked a little hesitant at first, but Kazuki's fearless aura was contagious.

With renewed confidence, it responded with a fierce cry.

"Pika!"

"Alright, let's go! Pikachu—Quick Attack to close the distance, then hit them with Thunder Shock!"

As Pikachu launched into the air, Kazuki activated the Special Grade Light Ball.

Immediately, Pikachu's pupils dilated—its energy surged with excitement.

It reached the flock at just the right moment—

"Piiiiii~ka~CHUUUUUU!!!"

With full power, Pikachu unleashed Thunder Shock.

Boosted by the Special Grade Light Ball, the move's intensity nearly rivaled Thunderbolt.

In an instant, dozens of Spearow were fried mid-air—

falling like rain from the sky.
