The Dangerous Adventure by francis
The wind howled through the jagged peaks as 14-year-old Elara tightened her scarf and peered up the icy mountain trail. Behind her, her best friend Kalen adjusted his backpack, his breath fogging in the cold air.
"We're really doing this," he said, excited.
Elara nodded. "We have to. That map wasn't a joke."
It had started a week ago, when they discovered an old, torn map hidden in the attic of her grandfather's cabin. Scribbled in the margins were words that chilled them both: "Only the brave survive the Trial of Vareth Peak. Inside lies the Eye of Eternity."

But as Elara stepped forward, the walls began to tremble. The beast had found a way inside.
Kalen drew the small dagger they'd brought for emergencies. Elara reached for the orb. The moment her fingers touched it, light exploded through the cave, and the beast let out a terrible roar before vanishing into smoke.
Silence returned.
They looked at each other, awestruck. Elara clutched the orb, its glow now gentle.
"We made it," Kalen whispered.
But Elara knew this was only the beginning. With power like this... new dangers would come.
And their adventure had just begun
