Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 - Uriel

I drew, and I kept drawing. After a bit, I finished my drawing. I blinked, and my drawing changed to a cross for a second, disappearing the next.

I got up and grabbed a bottle of water. I threw it at my face to wake myself up. After I was finished, I walked to the living room and found Amy sitting on the couch.

"Hey, John... Our rations are running low. We gotta find some food or we'll run out in three days," she said.

"I'mma head out today to find food, don't worry," I told her. She nodded and got back to what she was doing.

I walked up to my room and dressed up, getting ready to leave right then. I wanted to escape my shackles that locked me inside the house.

"Amy, I'mma head out now since there's light out. I'll be back before night," I told her. She just nodded, and I left.

I got in the Humvee outside and started driving to a gas station nearby. I needed gas, but finding some food there wouldn't be bad. I drove to the gas station and arrived after a 15-minute drive. I parked my Humvee near one of the gas pumps and poured some gas in.

As I filled up the Humvee's tank, I headed inside the mini market to look for anything. I found some cans of food and a bottle of water. Not a lot, but good enough. I walked back to the Humvee and threw the things in the back seat. I got inside again and started driving, trying to search for anything that could help me, food-wise.

Driving on the abandoned roads felt peaceful. I could finally have some peace after all the torment I had gone through. The silence on the road put my mind at ease and let me rest from reality for a bit.

But my peace was interrupted by a loud bang. It wasn't near me, but it sounded like a gunshot. It was in the direction the road was going, so I followed it-grabbing my rifle and placing it on my lap, just in case.

As I reached the source of the loud bang, I saw a man in the driver's seat of a van. I walked over to the van and, as I approached it, I could slowly see that the man had killed himself. Blood dripped down his mouth, and his eyes were closed shut.

I opened the door to the van and found the gun under the man's feet. I held back my vomit but searched the van. I found a lot of food and several bottles of water. I stashed them and placed them in the back of the Humvee.

I walked back into the van to grab his gun. Supplies are rare, and getting another line of defense is important. As I reached down for the gun, I noticed a crumpled-up paper in his pocket. I grabbed the gun and the paper and walked back to the Humvee.

As I opened the paper, I started reading it:

"Dear Watkin,

We have bad news about your son. Yesterday, February 12th, 2016, your son passed away. The cancer got to his brain and we couldn't act on time.

-Our biggest condolences,

Hospital team."

Looks like he was holding onto the letter about the death of his son for a while. He didn't want to forget about him.

I turned over the paper, and it seemed like he wrote something on it.

"Jason... We shall reunite again. I missed you..." it read, with some kind of stains under the writing. Blood? It wasn't red... Tears? I didn't know. But I felt bad for him.

I shook off the thought and drove back to the house. I brought all the things in and put them in their respective places. I didn't find Amy at that time, so I just went up to my room.

I looked at my desk and found the same book that talked about the Cherub Raziel. I opened it and saw the familiar text, but as I kept turning the pages, I found a new part. This time, instead of a picture, it had a really censored image with black squares over some parts. The words were still in Morse code.

I rushed over and grabbed the translation sheet, then got back to the book. I started translating the text:

"Cherub Uriel. Or more commonly known as the Light of God.

The wisest cherub of them all. He is one of many cherubs, yet his power is still unmet by anyone else.

Uriel is a loyal follower of God and doesn't betray His word.

He despised Raziel from the start. He knew he was plotting something, but he didn't know what.

We don't know what Raziel is plotting, but it may actually have to do with divine punishment. Guessing won't help us, but it is still hard to find any hints.

We don't have any available info on Uriel that we can actually prove, since most of what we found was from ancient scriptures.

But once we find him, we'll have an update ready.

-December 10th, 2026."

I got up and looked outside, seeing nothing abnormal. I grabbed the feather from Raziel and threw it outside. Instead of going down, it started levitating up, slowly.

I looked outside from the window and saw a huge bright light in the sky. As the feather reached the light, a whisper could be heard.

"Thank you," it told me.

I stumbled back from the window and sat at my desk.
