Chapter 1 - Fresh Beginning

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

On the bed, Kevin slightly woke up from his sleep and saw his collection of anime figurines, which were in the same place where he last saw them. He slightly turned his head toward the window, where the Bang! Bang! sound originated.

In the dark night, a black crow with red eyes had stopped banging its head against the window and was now looking at him with a lifeless red gaze.

His heartbeat was increasing as he looked at the crow, and he started to think, What is happening right now?

At the same time, a dark silhouette began to appear in the right corner of the room holding a scythe.

"DEATH," the word flashed through his mind.

At that moment, he began to lose his consciousness, and the silhouette approaching him said "you% l*f^ ^n& h^%^".

After that, he couldn't see anything and it felt like an eternity to him.

Suddenly, he heard someone speaking in a different language, one that sounded somewhat like English.

He tried to open his eyes to see what was happening.

"Lord, your wife has given birth to a healthy boy," the midwife said to Wilson.

Kevin struggled hard and opened both his eyes. He saw two people talking and tried hard to listen to what they were saying. He began to wonder what had happened to him and where he was.

Without any warning, he began to cry, and he was unable to stop.

Wilson looked at Kevin and brought a dark orb close to the crying baby's face.

At the same time

"What are you doing?!" Sarah shouted angrily.

Wilson quickly pulled the orb away and looked at his wife, who was lying on the bed.

"It's just for his talent test," he said.

Still angry, Sarah shouted, "Don't do that now! We'll do it the day before the naming ceremony."

Wilson silently put the orb into a box and stored it in his pocket.

He gently kissed Kevin's head and said to Sarah apologetically,

"Sorry for what just happened. You already know why I did this."

Then he gently lifted the child from the bed and held him in his arms.

At that moment, Kevin stopped crying and looked at Wilson, who appeared like a giant from his point of view.

Only now did he realize he had been reborn as a child.

As time passed, the midwife and his father Wilson left the room. Wilson's wife, Sarah, slept in a double-sized bed, and he lay in a crib, lost in thought.

The room looked like something straight out of a cultivation anime.

The man who pointed the dark orb at me and hugged me… is my father in this life. And the woman sleeping in that bed is my mother.

I've watched countless anime and read dozens of novels about reincarnation, and now it's actually happening to me, haha.

Am I lucky or unlucky? At least I didn't get isekai'd the cliché way… no truck-kun sent me here in a blaze of pain.

Just as Kevin was wondering what to do next, a sharp pain in his stomach made him burst into tears.

Sarah woke up to the sound of crying, walked over to the crib, gently lifted Kevin, and began breastfeeding him.

Kevin, who was in a world of pain, didn't care about the awkwardness of being a grown man sucking on Sarah's breast. He simply drank the milk and fell asleep.

After an hour of sleep, he regained consciousness and simply erased the memory of what had happened before.

He began to wonder what to do next.

First, I need to figure out what kind of world this is. Does it have a cultivation system, a magic system... or none at all?

While lost in thought, he began to notice tiny glowing particles in the air just like the ones usually described as mana or qi in novels.

He thought, "In novels, if we accumulate mana early, we can start building a foundation sooner." But he didn't plan to actively do it mainly because he wasn't even sure what these particles were. Still, he noticed that his body was passively absorbing them and releasing some kind of dark particles in return.

The same thing was happening to Sarah but at a much larger scale.

For every one particle he absorbed, she seemed to absorb a thousand.

Still, he tried to observe what happened to the absorbed particles inside his body using his mind.

He estimated that he could passively absorb one particle per minute. The particle would enter his body and travel along his neural pathways but after a certain point, he couldn't track it any further.

At the same time, a dark particle would be expelled from a different neural path, as if his body was filtering or converting the energy into something else.

After observing for several seconds, he fell asleep without even realizing it.

In the morning through the window fresh air flew and began to wake up Kevin.
