After settling everything for Skyreach Village, Shin turned his attention to training. He summoned all troops to return to either the village or the capital.
"As a full army, we'll be doing a different type of training today," Shin announced. "I have two Subjugation Tokens. These are similar to the night battles we usually face, but with five extra waves. Everyone, get ready!"
"Benimaru, come here."
He activated a Power Boost card, enhancing his mastery over fire. (–100 system points)
Then he gave his orders.
"Benimaru, Kael'Rath, Ri Shin, Kyou Kai, Seiran, and Leiyun—you six are with me. Focus on increasing your power as much as possible. Kay Ryo Ten and my three Dragonborn, you'll lead the rest of the troops."
"Yes, Lord!"
With that, Shin crushed the purple Subjugation Order.

Wave 1: Simple undead—wiped out effortlessly.
Wave 2: Werebears, Firelions, and Rock Apes.
Shin used Shadow Extraction on the Werebears and Rock Apes. He, Benimaru, and Kael'Rath tamed several Firelions.
Waves 3 & 4: Similar to Wave 2.
Wave 5: Two mini-bosses appeared—a Giant Elemental Bear and a Kiju—accompanied by Hobgoblins, Thunderbirds, Werewolves, Werebears, and low-level demons.
Wave 6: Zerg, Harpies, Skeletons, and various Goblins.

Two Emperor-level beasts emerged: a Behemoth and a Sky Mammoth, alongside enemies from previous waves.
Shin grinned devilishly. "Let's give them hell! I'll take the two strongest."
Heart muttered, "Big Brother, your battle junkie side is showing again."
Shin chuckled. "That's just my dragon side. It lives for a good challenge."
The battlefield erupted. Benimaru, now mounted on a Flame Lion, led the Mountain Splitters into the fray. Kael'Rath rallied the Neiman Guard with unyielding ferocity. Ri Shin, Seiran, and Leiyun charged in with the Tiger Twins, while even Kyou Kai succumbed to the thrill of battle.
They crushed the final wave. Shin approached the two Emperor Beasts and used Shadow Extraction. It took twice the mana, but he bound them both into his Shadow Army.
New Shadow Commanders require names.
His shadow flared behind him as he stepped forward. "From this day forward, you are no longer wandering beasts… You are mine."
Placing his hand on the Behemoth's forehead, he declared,
"You shall be called Dreadmaw, Breaker of Stone, Warden of the Abyss."
Turning to the Sky Mammoth, lightning crackling from its tusks, he smiled.
"And you… Vaelstrom, Heaven's Howl, Herald of the Black Skies."
Both titans roared—bound by shadow and loyalty.

"I need to keep my niece and nephew away from this side of Big Brother," Heart mumbled.
Shin laughed. "You said the boy's destined to be a general, and the girl to rule. They'll inherit this part of me. It's in their blood—they're part Void Dragon."
"I know… I just hope their partners can handle it like yours do."
"They'll have to. Velzard's a battle junkie, Shego's a masochist, Boa's a yandere, Lara's a workaholic, and Nina's still figuring herself out."
Heart sighed. "You really can't blame anyone but your own taste."
"I wouldn't change it for the world, little sister."

They hugged him gently.
"May we ask… where are your parents now?"
"They returned to serve as generals for their goddess. After I died in my past life, they saw no reason to stay. They were shocked to learn I became her husband. In their letter, they asked for lots of grandchildren and said they'd visit once the kingdom improves."
The women smiled again and hugged him tighter.
"Is there anything else we can do to help?"
"Yes. I need help setting up more subsidiary territories—blueprints for housing and breeding farms, and talent to manage them. Also, more of the slaves I purchased earlier, and a few new additions."
Elise: "I'll send Kaelira to help plan the territories."
Robin: "I'll check the Chamber of Commerce for blueprints and order whatever's missing. As for talent—we know a few minor nobles who could fill the roles. Just give Nico the list, and he'll handle the rest."
All Shin could say was, "Thank you."
Robin smiled. "Stop thanking us, dear. We're part of you. We're meant to help—just like our sisters."
