Chapter 7 - The Final Wave

Shin eyed the approaching enemy forces and gave his commands calmly, his voice echoing with authority.

"Ka Ryo Ten, prepare the archers. Focus fire on the first and second-level goblins."

"Ri Shin, Kyou Kai—take your troops and intercept the hobgoblins and goblin cavalry."

"I'll handle the goblin shamans. Conserve your energy—there's no telling how many waves remain."

"Yes, Lord!" they all responded in unison.

With that, the battlefield erupted into motion, launching a three-pronged attack.

Ri Shin and Kyou Kai struck first, their elite units clashing with the goblin cavalry and hobgoblins. In the first brutal exchange, they eliminated all 300 first-level goblin cavalry and cut down 250 out of 500 hobgoblins.

Shin swooped in, annihilating the remaining 250 hobgoblins and the 100 first-level goblin shamans with ruthless precision.

Without hesitation, he used Shadow Extraction, converting select hobgoblins and shamans into new soldiers. They emerged clad in black, gold, and red armor—each marked with a sigil of a four-winged, twin-tailed dragon.

They stood silently, awaiting orders.

Meanwhile, the archers under Ka Ryo Ten had just finished off the remaining first and second-level goblins.

Suddenly, the final wave appeared on the horizon, an overwhelming force:

• Goblin King (Level 5): 0/1

• Goblin Chieftains (Level 4): 0/5

• Goblin Shamans (Level 2): 0/300

• Goblin Shamans (Level 1): 0/200

• Hobgoblins (Level 4): 0/400

• Hobgoblins (Level 3): 0/500

• Goblin Cavalry (Level 2): 0/400

• Goblins (Level 3): 0/400

• Goblins (Level 2): 0/300

Shin grinned, his excitement obvious. He leapt off Apocalypse, patting the massive Chaos Wolf on the side. "Have fun."

His body transformed into his hybrid form—Void Dragon and Succubus Queen bloodlines coursing through him. Twin swords appeared in his hands as he barked out his orders.

"Ri Shin, Kyou Kai—focus on the goblin cavalry and hobgoblins!"

"My shadow soldiers, eliminate the shamans and support the archers."

"Ka Ryo Ten—take the archers and handle the third and second-level goblins."

"As for the big six," Shin said, cracking his neck. "They're mine. I'll be adding them to my Shadow Army."

With a flash in his eyes, he shouted, "Let's crush this last wave!!"

[Insert Final Battle Music]

The battle began with a roar. Shin led the charge, flying straight toward the goblin chieftains and the king.

Behind him, Ri Shin, Kyou Kai, and their units cut down the cavalry with expert coordination, even without mounts. But they hit resistance as they clashed with the stronger hobgoblins—until Ri Shin and Kyou Kai activated their awakenings. In perfect sync, the two Dragonborn warriors decimated their foes.

Seeing them pushed, Shin sent in shadow reinforcements.

On the other side, the Goblin King, snarling in rage, gave his final command.

"Regroup! Kill the men and take the women! I want their leader broken, watching as I ravage his women and fill them with my children!"

The goblin shamans and chieftains surged forward, trying to encircle Shin.

Unfazed, Shin unleashed a devastating flurry, slaying them all—followed by a thunderous dragon roar that shook the land.

Far away, Shego paused, ears twitching. "What was that roar?" she asked Velzard.

"Our husband," Velzard said. "A dragon only roars like that when he's enraged—or… when he senses a need to propagate."

Shego frowned. "And what exactly could've triggered that?"

Velzard contacted Heart telepathically. "Status report on our mate."

Heart relayed the goblin king's vile words.

Velzard laughed, to Shego's confusion.

"Why are you laughing?"

"There are three things you never do to a dragon," Velzard said. "You don't touch their horde, threaten their children, or lay claim to their mate—especially not their women."

"So how long until he returns?"

Velzard smirked. "Depends how angry he is, sister."

Back on the battlefield, Shin attacked the Goblin King with unrelenting fury.

The King raised his axe—but it shattered on impact.

Shin sliced off his right arm, switched to his spear, and impaled the King's left leg.

Then, with a final strike, he beheaded the monster.

He used Shadow Extraction on the corpse. A prompt appeared:

Do you wish to name this shadow?

"Yes," Shin replied. "His name is Duce."

He extracted the remaining goblin chieftains and shamans as well.

Suddenly, a system chime rang out:

Another alert followed:

Shin laughed coldly. "Let them come. They'll die all the same."

Auto-collect goblin corpses and weapons? (Y/N)

"Y."

Then he gave his final command for the night.

"Well done, everyone. Rest up."

He turned to his commanders.

"In the morning, my three Dragonborn will lead troops to scout nearby territories. If any have fallen—plunder everything of value. Report back before the council meeting."

"And if anyone stands in your way?"

"Show no mercy—they likely had the same idea."

"Yes, Lord," they answered.
