Episode 15: "The Mark of the Seers"
---
EXT. SHADOWBOUND HIGH – NIGHT
The aftermath of the battle still lingers in the air—broken trees, scorched earth, magical residue glowing faintly. Kael, Lana, Tunde, and Rhea walk slowly through the wreckage, exhausted but alive.
KAEL
(panting)
That thing—what the hell was that?
RHEA
A Wraithborn Golem. Only a few ever existed. You don't summon that unless you're trying to end someone.
LANA
And you did more than survive. You obliterated it.
Kael looks down at his hands, which still twitch with flickers of gold energy. Something about the power he used didn't feel borrowed. It felt like it belonged to him.
TUNDE
We need answers. Like, now. Because if that Miraxa woman comes back with more freaks—
Suddenly, a blinding light surges behind them. The trees part unnaturally, as if pushed aside by some force.
A figure cloaked in silver robes floats forward. His eyes glow blue. Four other cloaked figures step out behind him. Each wears a mask carved from stone—faces of anguish, serenity, rage, and calm.
LANA
The Seers...
KAEL
Who?
HEADMASTER THORNE (V.O.)
(off-screen)
The last line of defense against magical corruption. And they've come for you, Kael.
---
INT. HEADMASTER'S OFFICE – MINUTES LATER
Kael and the others stand in front of Headmaster Thorne. The Seers remain silent behind him.
HEADMASTER THORNE
These are the Fallen Seers. Long exiled, bound by sacred duty to watch over those born of chaos and prophecy. And, Kael...
He walks over and places a scroll on the desk.
HEADMASTER THORNE (cont'd)
You are one of those born of prophecy.
KAEL
What prophecy?
The lead Seer finally speaks, his voice ancient and deep.
LEAD SEER
"The blood of night and beast shall birth the golden howl. A warrior with fire in his veins, and shadow on his back."
TUNDE
That's… poetic and terrifying.
RHEA
Sounds about right for Kael.
---
EXT. TRAINING GROUNDS – LATER
The Seers open a portal, revealing a hidden realm—an ancient magical testing ground. Everything here pulses with enchantment. Floating stones. Rivers of glowing magic. Battle runes carved into the sky.
LEAD SEER
Your power must be awakened through trial. You will face your nature—and your fear.
Kael steps in. The portal closes behind him.
---
INT. MAGICAL TESTING REALM – NIGHT
Immediately, Kael is attacked by illusions—versions of himself twisted with rage, doubt, and fear.
DARK KAEL (ILLUSION)
You're not a hero. You're a mistake. A ticking bomb waiting to blow.
Kael clenches his fists, but doesn't run.
KAEL
I'm not afraid of myself. Not anymore.
He slams his hand into the ground, unleashing a ripple of energy that dissolves the illusions.
The ground beneath him shakes. A massive beast of shadow rises from a pool of dark magic—The Howler, a creature only those destined to become True Alphas must face.
HOWLER
Prove your right… or perish.
Kael roars, his transformation beginning again—claws, golden eyes, aura flaring with both wolf and magic.
The fight begins.
---
FIGHT SEQUENCE: KAEL VS THE HOWLER
Kael dodges the beast's crushing paws, leaping between platforms of floating stone.
He blasts it with compressed light orbs, temporarily blinding it.
The Howler counterattacks with void howls—waves of dark sound that disorient him.
Kael casts a shield mid-air, bounces off it to gain height, and slashes the beast across the snout with his enhanced claws.
In a last-ditch move, the Howler swallows Kael whole.
Silence.
Then, an explosion of golden light from inside the beast.
Kael rips out from its chest, glowing, breathing heavily.
The Howler bows.
HOWLER
You have the mark. But the path is long.
Kael's arm glows—a mark appears on his skin. A blazing wolf sigil surrounded by runes.
---
EXT. TESTING GROUND – LATER
Kael exits the realm, staggering. Lana runs up to him, worry all over her face.
LANA
What happened? Are you—
She stops. She sees the mark.
TUNDE
Dude. That's new.
KAEL
It called me Alpha. I'm not sure why, but... it felt right.
RHEA
It's not just wolf. That mark... it has Seer runes too. And something else. Something older.
HEADMASTER THORNE
The prophecy is beginning. You must prepare for war.
---
EXT. SHADOWBOUND FOREST – NIGHT
As they head back to the academy, the earth trembles again. In the distance, a mountain crumbles—revealing a tower made of bone and shadow rising from the earth.
LANA
That's not good.
TUNDE
Nope. Definitely in the "ancient evil rising" category.
A deep roar echoes from the tower—not animal, not human.
Kael's mark glows brightly.
---
INT. DARK SPIRE – SAME TIME
Miraxa kneels before a figure cloaked in red smoke. This is Lord Atheron, the true villain, his voice like a chorus of whispers.
LORD ATHERON
The Alpha awakens. Let him rise... so we may crush him when the time is right.
He raises a hand and a thousand cursed souls scream behind him.
LORD ATHERON
Prepare the armies. Let Shadowbound fall.
