Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

Chapter 4

"Ma, this is your room," the maid said, showing her a room almost at the end of the hallway where people hardly passed, which made Rein happy, knowing she could have a little privacy.

"Oh." Walking inside, she gasped at what she saw. "Why is it pink?"

"Oh, it's the fourth and fifth masters who designed the room for you to make you feel at home. The fourth and fifth masters are the nicest." The maid smiled from ear to ear as she complimented them. "Sorry, I spoke too much. You can have your bath now. When you're done, just pull the rope near the bed to ring an alarm for your meal," she said, pointing at a pinkish rope with a fluffy end.

Rein almost rolled her eyes, wondering why all the brothers in this family were so strange.

"Okay," she muttered, then slammed the door shut. The maid had been nice, but Rein didn't want anything to do with anyone in this world.

After making sure the door was locked, Rein took off her clothes and entered the bathroom. She was shocked at how lavish it was. She filled the bathtub with water and stepped in.

"Aah..." A low moan escaped her lips as the chill of the water sent shivers up her spine, soothing every inch of her body.

'What am I going to do now? I need to escape this palace, but how?' Rein went into deep thoughts.

"Ahh, nothing," she muttered, pulling her hair in frustration at not being able to come up with anything.

"The best thing to do now is to be obedient and avoid becoming a baby machine," she murmured while grabbing the soap and she glided it down her skin, creating bubbles.

Seeing the bubbles bright and fragile reminded Rein of her life—alive one moment and the next, pop, it's dead.

After rinsing the soap off, she took her towel and wrapped it around her body, then walked to a place resembling a closet. Following her instinct, she opened the closet.

"Ahh," Rein gasped, dazzled by the amount of clothes in the closet. Judging by the materials, they were anything but cheap.

"This life isn't that bad, minus the breeding part," she said, trying her best to console herself. But Rein's goal to escape couldn't be erased.

She grabbed a nice red velvet shirt gown, which looked comfortable and she noticed roses embroidered on the gown, giving it a bold vibe.

"Grrrhhhh," her stomach grumbled, and she recalled that she hadn't eaten. She had woken up early in the morning, aiming to surprise her boyfriend with breakfast first not knowing that she would meet a devastating outcome.

Rein sighed as she thought, "What am I going to do now? Let me ask the maid."

She walked to the door and turned the door handle but it didn't open. "Maybe I didn't turn it well. Let me try again."

'Click.' She pushed the lock again and it still did not open. Instantly, it clicked in her head that she might be locked inside.

"Open the door!" Banging the door, Rein wasn't that bothered about being blocked, but her independent nature couldn't take the fact that her freedom was restricted. She kept banging the door, but no response could be heard, making her angry.

"Open this door before I break it," she threatened, even though Rein knew it was impossible.

Outside the door, two men with heavy builds could be seen stationed. One with an irritated expression, annoyed at the banging noise; the other hesitant to answer the shout.

"Gabe, why the hell is she shouting?" he said, annoyed..

"Maybe she is scared. Should we answer?" Gabe asked.

"What's there to be scared about? Ignore her. She will stop knocking," he said, shrugging.

"Open the door!" followed by a banging sound on the door.

"Madam, what do you want?" Gabe finally decided to answer.

"Open the door!" Rein commanded him.

"I'm sorry, we can't open the door. First master ordered us not to open it for any reason," Gabe said, explaining to Rein.

"How do you expect me to eat?" Rein shouted, angry that she was locked in this room for no reason.

"If you're hungry, there is a rope you could pull for the maid to serve you your food," Gabe explained to Rein.

"Ohh," Rein muttered, recalling the maid also told her about the rope, but her anger about being locked in had overshadowed her thoughts. "But still, that doesn't give you guys the right to lock me in. I have my freedom and deserve to be treated as a person," Rein said firmly.

"Tsk." The other guy standing with Gabe clicked his tongue. "What right does a breeder have? Your duty is just to produce an heir for either of the masters," he said with distaste.

"Goth, stop that. She is our mistress. Didn't you learn from what happened to that maid?" Gabe said, warning Goth, not wanting his partner to be punished.

"But—"

"But nothing," Gabe said, warning Goth with his eyes.

Rein could hear their conversation and knew there was no way to leave the room, but she knew she had to first answer her stomach. Sighting the long rope, she took a short stride to it and dragged it a little bit.

A few minutes later, a click could be heard.

"Madam, I was waiting for you to drag the rope since I had prepared your food," the maid said with a little concern in her eyes, knowing Rein hadn't eaten since.

"Ehmm, I forgot." Noticing her concern, her gaze reminded Rein a little bit of her mom. The gaze Rein's mum showed when she threw a little tantrum by calling a hunger strike. The memory brought a little bit of tears to Rein, but she shook it away. "Thanks for the food."

"It's my job, madam," the maid said, setting the food on the table for her with a glass of water placed beside it.

Taking a bow, she turned and left the room, accompanied by a swift click.

Taking a seat on the table and chair placed there, Rein went straight to devouring her food. Even though she didn't know the name of the food as it looked different from food on Earth, she was too hungry to care.

Click.

Hearing the click, Rein was shocked as she wondered who it was.

"Little temptress, do you miss me?" Rohan entered with a mischievous expression.

But who was Rein? She wasn't a normal girl with a normal mindset.

"Do I look like I missed you?" she asked back calmly while still eating.

"With your expression, I guess 'no.' I thought you were finally obedient, but who knew you were pretending downstairs?" he said and Rein hissed inwardly as she remembered the promise she made to herself to be "obedient."

"Don't you have anything to do, like 'work'? Or are you jobless?" she asked, wondering why she kept seeing him.
