The sun was setting over the bustling metropolis, casting a warm golden glow on the glass buildings that stretched up to the sky. Among the sea of human faces in the crowded streets, one stood out. A striking woman with long, flowing silver hair and nine luxurious tails that swayed with every step. She wore a chic, professional outfit—a crisp white blouse tucked into a sleek pencil skirt.
Her name was Kitsuko, and she was a kitsune. Once, she had lived a life of leisure, receiving endless offerings of food and admiration from humans who believed in her divine nature. She had lived as a beloved, untouchable being, floating in the divine realms of luxury. But those days were gone.
"Ugh, why does it have to be so hard now?" Kitsuko sighed dramatically, her tails swishing behind her as she navigated the crowded street. "These humans... they just don't appreciate the divine anymore. No offerings, no respect, no nothing."
She had been forced to find real work, and this meant her current predicament: a salarywoman. An office worker. With a boss.
She gritted her teeth at the thought of her boss, Mr. Kawaguchi. He was a rather dreary man, completely indifferent to the majestic presence of a kitsune. The only thing he seemed to care about was how many files Kitsuko could get through in a day. "Efficiency," he called it.
As for her co-workers? They were a mess. Every day, it was the same routine—too many drinks after work, too many "accidental" touches, and far too many ridiculous propositions for dinner or... other activities-(I deeply appreciate each and every reader.
