A/N : Another point to be noted that Shivansh is a single child so all the brothers and sisters that you are going to be see are going to be his cousins. Cheers!
He looked around himself. He saw his sisters sitting beside him, chatting amongst themselves. The elder sisters never included him in many conversations, after all they had the age gap of at least 6 years.
His father and all the men were sitting on the bed and the chairs. They were chatting about politics and sports. The food was then served. Puri, aloo ke gutke, raita, cake and his mother's specialty Chole.[1]
Shivansh was shocked when the food was served. It is said that many of our memories are connected with the sense of smell. The smell of the old familiar food awakened even more memories. He suddenly froze unable to make any movements. Akshay seeing him not eat spoke,
"Why are you just staring at the food. Eat it or it will get cold."
His voice brought him back. He picked up the spoon and scooped up some chole. His hands trembled as it the food had tremendous weight. He tried to stop his shaking hand and brought the chole near his mouth.
He then ate the chole and the flavors burst inside his mouth. He had tried countless delicacies throughout his lifetime, but this familiar taste beat them all by miles. The familiar cooking of his mother's hands opened the old wounds. It scratched on his heart.
His voice was stuck in his throat. He started crying. Bawling his eyes out. This time the emotions were so overpowering that even Shanti could not help him.
The wailing reached his mother's ears who was cooking in the kitchen. She rushed out. His father also rushed towards him and so did the family members. They asked if he was alright and why he was crying. After a moment or two Shivansh replied in a trembling voice,
"H- hot, to- too hot..." He replied while fanning his hand. He successfully covered up his lie.
"I told you to eat slowly, look what happened now. You burned your mouth. Tch." His mother nagged him in a worried tone. She then helped him drink some water.
This incident was successfully covered. The sudden outbreak also helped him in relieving a lot of his pent up emotions. He had once again regained his clarity. The birthday party ended without any more incidents.
The cousins played amongst themselves. The unpacked all the gifts that he received while his parents pocketed the money. They then enjoyed the new toys until it was time for bed. They all bid him farewell and returned to their home. The house next to him.
Shivansh also freshened up and got ready to bed. He slept between his parents. The other room had a king sized bed. The room also had a small storage compartment built in the wall. It had a small old television, the one that is thick and cubic in shape.
The room had a small temple for personal use, under the space left by the storage compartment. Shivansh was still awake. He was thinking about all the incidents that happened today. It was so chaotic but as the wise say if the end is good everything is good.
He had three days of peace then his alternate life was supposed to begin. He wondered what kind of realm would it be. What were the chances that he would be the son of a king with great powers.
He smirked while thinking this. He did not even realize that he had dozed to sleep thinking all about the other realm. A realm of different laws and powers....
