Chapter 59 - Chapter 57 – The Calm Before the Hunt

The classroom was quieter than usual.

Ever since the brutal takedown of the gang's left-hand man in Chapter 56, whispers about Hamin had become daily background noise. Some said he wasn't human. Others believed he was backed by a secret organization. None dared ask him directly.

But Hamin… didn't care.

He sat by the window as always, his gaze fixed outside—but he wasn't watching the sky. He was watching the reflection in the glass, carefully tracking every movement in the classroom. Calculating. Waiting.

Across the room, Areum glanced his way. Her fingers curled into her notebook, holding back words. She'd seen something during the last fight—something terrifying… but oddly beautiful. Blue eyes, glowing like frostfire. A demon in human skin. But she hadn't told anyone.

A group of students burst into the room, laughing. One of them—Jin Seongjun—stood out.

Tall, loud, with a permanent smirk on his face, Seongjun was Kang Hojin's "unofficial" second right hand. Known for his flashy taekwondo, he was also infamous for setting up others to fail. Hamin already knew his type.

"Hey, new kid," Seongjun called out casually. "Heard you're good with your fists. Why don't you join us after school at the gym? Friendly spar."

Hamin's eyes didn't shift. "Friendly?"

"Real friendly. I'll even buy you a drink after."

The class chuckled nervously.

Hamin stood, finally. He didn't smile. "If I show up, bring all your friends. I don't want it to end too quickly."

Scene Cut – After School, Underground Gym

The lights flickered slightly in the old gym. It wasn't school property—but the gang had long since claimed it.

Five boys stood around Seongjun, each bigger than the last.

Hamin walked in without hesitation.

Seongjun raised a brow. "You didn't bring backup?"

"No need," Hamin said, removing his blazer and rolling up his sleeves.

The fight started instantly. One lunged with a steel pipe—Hamin ducked low, swept his legs, and used the man's falling weight to launch a punch into another's throat.

Seongjun stayed back, watching. He wasn't stupid. Hamin was strong. Too strong.

But the trap had already begun.

As Hamin crushed the last of the five, his breathing steady, Seongjun stepped forward.

"You're a beast," he said, clapping slowly. "But I wonder how long you'll stay standing…"

Behind him, the door locked shut.

Two older students—real fighters—stepped in. Former street champions. One a boxer, one a taekwondo prodigy.

Hamin exhaled slowly. His body was already bruised, slightly tired—but he didn't show it.

Seongjun grinned. "Let's see how long your perfection lasts."
