Chapter 43 - Chapter 39 – The Quiet Threat

The gym was empty, lights dimmed, echoing with the sound of footsteps.

Hamin stood at the center of the mat. He didn't come here to train. He came because the message was clear.

Park Minjae was waiting.

Minjae stretched his neck, cracking it as he stepped forward from the shadows.

> "No crowd, no rules. Just us."

Hamin raised his fists.

No words were needed.

The First Clash

Minjae attacked like a shadow—quick jabs flowing into powerful elbow strikes. He was a Krav Maga specialist, trained to disable, not spar.

Hamin blocked one, ducked, twisted—his body responding from muscle memory. He retaliated with a low kick, forcing Minjae to back off.

Minjae smiled.

> "Good reflexes. But I'm not Jisoo."

Then he lunged.

This time, his elbow struck Hamin's ribs—sharp pain bloomed. Hamin slid back, skidding on his heels.

Blood on his lip.

But he didn't fall.

---

Something Awakens

Mid-fight, Hamin's vision shimmered—like static on a screen.

His heart rate surged. His muscles tightened unnaturally. The edges of his vision turned blue.

> No… Not now—

Minjae came in with a spinning knee.

And then—

Snap.

Time slowed.

Hamin dodged. His hand moved before he could think—grabbing Minjae's leg midair and twisting.

Crack!

Minjae dropped, rolling with the impact, clutching his thigh.

> "Y-you… monster…"

Hamin stared at his own hand, trembling.

The blue in his eyes flickered, then faded.

He exhaled, shaken.

> "I didn't… mean to break it."

---

Aftermath

Minjae was left groaning on the gym floor. Not unconscious, but defeated.

Word would spread fast.

And Hamin knew: this wasn't over. Choi Mirae would not stay silent.
