📲CHAPTER_4 📲
"And this is the last section we'll be looking into today," The Science Teacher, Mrs. Hyori announced to the students as she led the way down the hallway with her bag now with her.
Everyone had their attention focused on her except for the Apex Group.
Kim Nana had a troubled countenance as she kept glancing back to find someone who seemed to have been away for about two hours now.
She was always happy to bully him and now she couldn't help but wonder if he was hiding again.
He dares not after the threat she dished him the previous day.
The last time she remembered seeing Ji-Ho was when her gang had chased him for telling on Jang Mi and they had returned without him.
She assumed they had scared him off for a moment but now had different thoughts.
The five were trailing far behind while Kim Nana was close to the teacher so she couldn't ask them what they had done to the loser.
They had their reason for lagging behind and hiding from their gang leader who seemed to be clueless.
The three females: Jang Mi, Park Mi Cha, Cheong Mi-Sun, and the two males: Seo Do-yoon, and Baek Woo had neutral looks and cared less about what they had done to Ji-Ho but deep down, they worried.
They don't know how Kim Nana would react when she finds out he was dead but then, they believed they would be able to talk to her calmly since they all hate the loser.
The only one who had emotion over her head was the youngest in the group and the one with no ability, Park Mi Cha.
She had witnessed a gruesome murder
and the sight left her traumatized, and shivering.
Only she knows the true consequences of the group's action.
Despite being the lowest in terms of rank in the group, she understood Kim Nana better than anyone, and killing Ji-Ho was a very big mistake even though it was a mistake.
"Hey, don't be such a baby" Jang Mi tugged her shirt with a smirk while under the arm of her proud boyfriend.
"Yes, Mi Cha. Why are your eyes red? Were you in love with him?" Do-Yoon asked and the four laughed as best as they could.
This made Jang Mi angry, how could they ever associate her with the loser?
She was only down because of the incoming consequences.
"You idiot! Do you understand what you've done?" Jang Mi tried to control her voice as she breathed out.
"I?" Do-Yeon snickered and pulled the strand of hair on his girlfriend's face, "We killed the trash of a boy? Didn't we?" "
" Haha... Yes. We only spared his useless life from poverty "Baek Woo supported him and the others agreed.
" Shut up, Y'All. You're idiots! "Jang Mi cursed with a loud voice and only then did she realize they were in public.
Every student turned in their direction including Mrs. Hyori who immediately made her way to the back.
" What's going on with you? Jang Mi, "Seeing her red eyes, the teacher couldn't help but ask her.
She knew best not to involve the teacher so she forced a smile and said, "I'm just feeling a slight pain in my head. I'm good"
Kim Nana dimmed her eyes because she could tell when her friends were telling lies.
Seeing the sly smile on the other's face, she wondered if they had bullied Jang Mi.
She was the daughter of a prominent person so they wouldn't do such.
Ultimately, her rule forbade them from fighting.
Something was wrong somewhere and she just couldn't place her hands on it.
"Where is the loser?" Mrs. Hyori suddenly asked and looked around, " Where is the poor student? Min Ji-Ho"
The students let out an outburst on hearing the teacher's description of him and side talks ensured almost immediately.
"We saw him running out of the building "Do-Yoon announced from where he stood and Kim Nana glanced at their faces, one after the other.
He was lying and she knew it.
"Oh, he chooses to now be useless with his education" She snorted and found her way to the front without asking further questions.
Kim Nana beyond any doubt now knew something was up and approached her friends but just when she made to speak, she had noticed something.
Armed men in black tuxedos appeared to be running down the opposite hallway at a fast pace and that made her squint her sight for a moment.
Those were the company's special security agents and they only got deployed when there was a threat in the building.
Almost immediately, she noticed a neatly dressed burly man in an Armani suit approaching from the opposite hallway with the head of the Kim and Kang Securities.
"Father...?" She mumbled in surprise and quickly approached.
He had left for a business trip outside town that morning and was supposed to return in a few days.
"Hey," The burly man barely paid attention to her but said, "Leave the building with your friends"
He pushed her from his path with his hand and turned his face to the head of securities, "The trip is over at this instant until we figure out this mess. I want everyone from Seoul High out of the building in thirty minutes"
"I'll do that immediately" The Head of securities bowed in respect and hurried away as quickly as he could.
"Father, What's happening? Is everything alright?" Kim Nana inquired and got closer to him but he was engrossed in typing in his device, leaving her ignored for a moment.
"You're weak-minded, Nana. You're not mature enough to be involved in the matters of the elders so I'm warning you, don't ask me something I decide not to share with you" There was a stern look in his eyes as he inched closer to her.
Kim Nana had a frightened expression and her fingers fidgeted as she took a few steps back, and moisture gradually formed inside her ocean-blue eyes.
"But I'm trying my best... I'm the strongest in Seoul High and--"
He interrupted her with a threatening gaze, "You are weak. Guided by emotions and without grounded skills. You are nothing but a weak, fragile woman just like your mother. That's what you are"
Hearing these words, tears flooded down her chin and she protested, "I've been trying my best, Father. I swear I'm better than before, I'm stronger, and faster, I'm--"
Kim Nana was still talking when Kim Kwang's fist swerved directed at her face from below.
His movement was guided by a gush of air and she didn't see it coming until a stinging pain exploded on her lip.
She was sent sprawling over the floor and blood trickled from the cut inflicted there.
Her lips swell but started healing slowly since she was gifted.
"Weak!" Kim Kwang cursed, watching his daughter try to get back on her feet.
"Clouded by emotion and with little strength" Hearing these words from him, more tears trickled down her cheek and her eyes turned red.
"I'm strong!" She gritted her teeth and her fist tightened as she went back on her knees.
"Are you?" He took a step forward and stretched his hand before her face.
Kim Nana knew what was coming and quickly stretched her right hand activating her telekinesis ability.
Kim Kwang had activated his and the two energy clashed against each other causing a release of heat.
The young girl groaned as she felt the energy pushing her backward and that made her struggle to her feet.
She was determined to withstand the attack as her eyes turned bloodshot but discouragement soon kicked in when she saw the casual look on her father's face.
He wasn't even trying.
She grunted and attempted to use even greater energy but all her fingers snapped backward and broke.
"She cried with a loud voice and tried to use her other hand as support but the fingers brutally bent backward and broke leaving her defenseless.
The telekinesis force from her father sent her flying into the air and eventually crashed into the wall.
Kim Nana dropped to the ground and coughed out blood because she had been injured internally.
She was in pain and struggled to get up again but her broken fingers hurt and made her sob.
Kim Kwang came in front of her and taking her hands, he snapped her fingers back in place and she managed to swallow the pain.
"Look at me" His voice was deep as he looked into her face and she had no choice but to raise her head.
Her disheveled blonde hair was all over her face but she could still see his emotionless face.
"What were you saying again?"
She was heartbroken to hear these words and couldn't stop herself protesting, "But... But... You are more powerful than me" Her lips quivered and he responded almost immediately.
"Proves just how weak you are. You can be bigger than anyone... Stronger than anyone, but then, you're weak. You're not fit to handle the family group and contend against the Kang to be the head. I would rather have a son by my side and not another weak woman. I might just hand over the mantle to your half brother, as much as he's not full of me, he impresses me better "
With the words, he turned around and began to walk away.
"Father, I'm doing everything I can to be on top of the world. I promise I will get every to bow at my feet, don't give your seat to Chi, he's--"
"Shut it" Kim Kwang snapped, "Excuses is what you give best. A typical woman" He snorted and she dared not stop him with another word.
Kim Kwang took the elevator to the last floor where he was welcomed by two scarred-face guards who had a bleeding man on his knees.
"is this the one remaining?" Kwang asked stroking his chin
"Yes, Boss. He wasn't with them when it happened. The others seem to be dead. Body parts everywhere and--"
He interrupted the man who was explaining, "I've seen the pictures--"
He was interrupted by the noise of the elevator and they turned to see the young man walking out of the elevator with a stern face.
"Vice Chairman Eun!" The guards saluted in respect and the new person bowed before Kwang.
"Do you think that little thing can do such a damage?" The Vice Chairman stood side by side with Chairman Kim Kwang who was still stroking his chin.
"Those damn insects from Vitalixia possess ten times the energy essence possessed by the highest-ranked gifted on earth" The husked voice of an old man sounded and they turned to see a white-haired man appearing from down the hallway.
"Head Scientist Han" Vice Chairman Eun bowed slightly in respect and the guards too but not Chairman Kwang.
"But can only use their energy essence on their planet" He completed and stood in front of them.
"So.... you never succeeded in extracting their energy essence?" Kwang asked, clearing his throat.
Han replied, "No. The main subject escaped during the experiment and you know the rest. The remaining subjects haven't acted up so it's strange to say they can use energy essence on earth now, it's impossible"
Kwang turned to the Vice Chairman, "Don't stand there, bring me the necessary camera footage, and let's see how that subject managed to kill so much"
