"Quick—find him! I want that bastard caught now!"
On the 19th floor of the building, a fully armed Red Fang Gang squad was fumbling around in complete darkness.
Not long ago, upon discovering that their stronghold had been infiltrated, they had rushed down to investigate—only to be met with the horrifying sight of their comrades' bodies strewn across the floor.
In their panic, someone had even cut the power. Already shaken, they now floundered in the pitch-black halls, their fear amplified, their coordination in shambles.
In the darkness, a pair of blood-red eyes flickered into view. Before anyone could react, a defenseless gang member collapsed to the ground—his life force draining away rapidly until he lay lifeless.
"There! Fire—fire now!"
The noise drew the rest of the squad's attention, and instantly, a hailstorm of bullets tore through the air toward Zhong Yan, cloaked in shadows.
But those bullets—more than enough to kill any carbon-based lifeform—did absolutely nothing.
He just kept walking toward them, calm as ever, as if the bullets were mere raindrops. The sight made the gang members recoil in terror.
"What the hell is this monster?!" the squad leader bellowed, unable to comprehend how such a being could exist—one who bullets couldn't even scratch.
And why had he come for them?
"Die, damn you!" Driven by sheer survival instinct, the captain continued firing until the clip ran empty. The muzzle steamed, yet the masked figure was still standing—untouched.
Then, a strange voice erupted in his ear. It jarred him back to awareness—and as he looked around, he realized something chilling.
Everyone else was already dead.
Not a single teammate remained standing.
And at some point, a firm hand had settled atop his head.
An unbearable pain pierced his mind—and then everything went black.
With the 19th floor cleared, Zhong Yan slid his war fan back onto his back and, without a change in expression, made his way up to the next floor.
The top of the building was near—and that's where Silver's private room was located.
Yet even after reading the memories of so many Red Fang Gang members, Zhong Yan still hadn't uncovered the location of the safe.
That meant only Silver himself knew where it was.
By this point, more than 90% of the Red Fang Gang had already been wiped out by his hand.
This was the bloodiest rampage he had ever committed—but his only physical response was a quickened heartbeat and breath. Nothing more.
He didn't understand how he could feel so calm—but now wasn't the time to question it. Only one step remained to secure the safe containing Fairy.
...
Not long after, in the top-floor suite, Silver sat leisurely sipping red wine and eating foie gras, as the TV played some useless news broadcast in the background.
Just moments ago, he had learned of the intrusion.
At first, he assumed it was the New Eridu Public Security, but when he heard it was only one person, his tension eased.
He dealt with it simply—by ordering a team to eliminate the intruder.
They were elite Red Fang Gang members. Even if a Public Security spec-ops team had shown up, they'd have lost a few teeth in the fight.
At that moment, a knock came at the door. A gang member entered to report, "Boss, the intruder's been eliminated."
Silver's knife and fork paused, and he muttered with some irritation, "You needed to tell me that personally?"
To him, it was just one intruder. Unless it was an officially recognized Hollow Raider, there was no way anyone, no matter how strong, could beat an elite squad alone.
But the very next second, a heavy thud echoed behind him.
Silver turned—and saw the very same gang member who had just spoken lying dead on the floor.
And standing behind him, at the doorway—
Was a man in a black robe.
The shock hit Silver instantly. He instinctively drew his pistol from his waist and aimed at the uninvited guest.
"Nice to meet you, leader of the Red Fang Gang," Zhong Yan said, kicking aside the body in front of him and slowly walking into the room.
His tone was even. His pace unhurried. But it was Silver who felt the pressure bearing down.
Because he now realized—his elite squad had been annihilated.
By just one man.
But how?! Their weapons might not match Public Security's, but they were far from weak. That a single person could wipe out his best fighters was unthinkable.
Silver's eyes scanned Zhong Yan's figure—and when he saw the black robe and the iconic white spiral mask, realization dawned.
"You… you're Uchiha?!" Silver blurted out, sweat pouring from his forehead.
Uchiha. The legendary Hollow Raider who slaughtered massive Ethereals in the Hollows as if they were mere playthings. A name that invoked fear the moment it was spoken—yet here he was, standing in Silver's room.
A crushing sense of dread descended upon Silver. But he wasn't ready to give up yet.
"I know what you're after!" he blurted, desperate to buy time. "But let me warn you—if you lay a finger on me, you'll never find it!"
He was gambling everything on the safe—the one even a high-ranking official wanted.
No one else in New Eridu knew where it was. That knowledge was his trump card.
And surely, even Uchiha wouldn't risk killing the only person who knew its location.
Ordinarily, maybe.
But unfortunately for him, today, he was facing Zhong Yan.
With the Sharingan, he could read memories. Silver didn't need to speak a word for Zhong Yan to find out everything.
And this was the first time someone had dared threaten him while he wore the mantle of Uchiha.
Worse yet, Silver wasn't some innocent.
The moment he uttered those words—his fate was sealed.
And with his death, the already-crippled Red Fang Gang would meet its final, inevitable destruction.
