Chapter 5 - Mage specific quests?

Slowly it turns morning as he sleeps on the floor. Waking up he stretches feeling a slight ache in his back. He does a few exercises to help relieve the pain in his back before he throws on some clothes and grabs Arnold.

Heading into the guild he makes a b-line to the quest board looking at all the quests, one catches his eye. "Looking for a mage class to translate books into english. Reward 1 gold and information gathered from books." With his skill set the quest should be easy to do.

He registers for the quest and goes to one of the mansions on the royal's side of the city as detailed by the quest. Knocking on the front gate, instantly the gates open as a butler stands there. "Thanks for accepting our quest please follow me." The butler says walking into the mansion.

Following behind Erin kinda surprised that they knew who he was. They arrive at a huge library, a desk in the middle piled with nearly 20 books. "These books where donated to us by the church and we can't read them." Instantly Erin looks over and realises they are books written in ruin script.

"Oh these books? They are written in an acient language. No one can read these book except... well lets just say your in luck."

Erin immediately starts reading the books and translating them into english at a fast pace, the first book is an interesting book about dungeons and how they form from dense magic energy and they are technically living beings. The information in this book is revolutionary, it describes everything from how dungeons are formed and how to destroy them.

Erin spends a few days translating the books but the rest of them where either low rank skill books that where useless or creative novels.

After translating them he finds the butler to hand all of the translations over to him.

"Thanks so much, ill pass these on to the head of the house as payment here is your gold and as a gift for completing it so fast here is an old book the head of the house found in a dungeon but no one has ever been able to read it even scholars can't read it." The butler says handing over a gold coin and a thick book in a language even Erin couldn't read.

On his way home he buys furniture for his house, kitchen supplies, couch, table, two beds for the bedrooms and some chairs to go with the table. Overall costing him 10 gold coins. The clerk said they would be delivered in a couple days.

Erin heads home to start reading the book he has, it seams to be made of components from ruin script language and monster language. It doesn't take long before he can read it somewhat and very slowly. Eventually he finds its a SS Rank skill called skill Master. It describes that it makes it almost infinitely easier to learn new skills and if the user has the infinite growth skill this skill decreases the work needed to upgrade skills too. Seams perfect for him to learn so Erin spends all day continuing to translate the book and learn the skill.

He spends a whole month stuck in his house reading the book and practicing the techniques in the book attempting to learn the skill. After a long time he feels his body surge with energy.

Deciding to see his skills he heads down to the guild hall and asks to use the crystal from before, paying a single silver to do so he heads into the room and places his hand on the crystal. The panel shows his stats.

Looking at his stats he is shocked, his level has risen to level 22 but what shocked him is that his stats are on par with his father's stats and he is level 100 ish and his mana is higher than the high priests by nearlt ten times. It must be the EXP boost skill that helped him level up quickly but the stat increase is usually 25% increase for the first 10 levels then 1% after that but it seams that his increases faster than 1%.

He heads back out heading straight into the forest planning in letting Arnold consume more slime cores.

He lets Arnold go to roam freely to kill slimes itself. Erin then heads off into the forest hoping to go deeper in knowing there is a dungeon entrance somewhere in this forest that he wants to find as well as a new monster to tame, he remembers reading about ant queens being powerful A Rank monsters that are able to produce thousands of offspring ranging from E Rank to B Rank monsters, the only down side is that ant queens don't have heaps of combat power themselves and rely on there minions to fight for them. Ants under the control of their queen can't be tamed and only have a two week life span. If he could find a baby ant queen and tame it he would be able to have an entire army under his control.

After a few hours he meets up with Arnold who now looks a bit bigger than before. He thinks about Arnold's stats and sees the information appear before him.
