Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Escape from Death

If such a master broke through, how could they expect any peace afterward?

On the other side, Chen Luo seemed to have turned into a cold, relentless killing machine. Each time, he skillfully avoided the majority of the attacks, always keeping no more than three enemies engaged with him. In this way, he used his agility to neutralize the advantage in numbers, turning the tide in his favor.

This was an incredibly refined combat instinct. Chen Luo had collected over a hundred external brains, each possessing a genius for this kind of skill.

However, this method couldn't last forever. A Bone Tempering expert, after all, was still human and would eventually be drained of energy. So, as he killed, Chen Luo began to move toward the edges, intending to break through the encirclement before his strength ran out.

Seeing this, General Fan drew his iron spear and, blending into the crowd, thrust it toward Chen Luo. The entire process was silent, and not even a single person noticed his move. There was no aura of a general striking.

That's the nature of the battlefield—no one cares about martial ethics.

The best method is the one that kills the enemy!

'Three inches to the right—his heart.'

Just as Chen Luo was about to break through after knocking down three of the soldiers surrounding him, a sudden feeling of danger surged in his mind. Instinctively, his body twisted. He saw an iron spear thrust toward his face, blending seamlessly with the crowd.

He could dodge this?!

General Fan's expression darkened. He had already tried to overestimate his opponent, but he never expected this person to be even more difficult to deal with than anticipated.

His combat instincts were almost beast-like. Logically speaking, it would be impossible to have such keen observation without thousands of battles under one's belt. The young man before him didn't appear to be the type of master he had expected. This only left one explanation.

A genius!

"Are you the thief who killed Eunuch Wei?!" Holding his iron spear, General Fan did not make another move. After one thrust, he quickly retreated back into the crowd, not giving Chen Luo the slightest opportunity.

The soldiers around him were also terrified by Chen Luo's killing spree. Although they were armed with knives, not a single one dared to take the initiative to strike.

In just that brief moment, more than a dozen of them had fallen. The least injured had lost limbs, while the most serious were already dead.

"Prince Ning?"

Chen Luo's eyes flickered for a moment, and he tentatively spoke a name.

He had also figured out General Fan's identity. He was most likely the one who had entered the courtyard, and also the mastermind behind Eunuch Wei. It seemed that fortune had smiled upon him—he had stumbled upon his target without even trying! As long as he could kill General Fan here, he and his third uncle would be able to live in peace from now on.

"Indeed, you cannot be left alive!"

General Fan's expression darkened, and he quickly retreated.

"Shoot him dead! Poison the arrows!!"

What Chen Luo had said earlier wasn't meant to give him a break, but rather to signal his subordinates outside to set up a defensive perimeter.

Unfortunately for him, while he had his plans, Chen Luo wasn't foolish either.

Among the more than a hundred brains he had, the one most skilled at escaping had already found a safe route. The period he spent fighting his way out was the most dangerous. Now that he had reached this point, the situation was no longer under the enemy's control.

He took a half-step back, then swiftly grabbed a soldier on the left who was retreating more slowly.

With a single twist of his hand!

There was a 'crack' sound, and the soldier holding the scimitar immediately lost his life. The scimitar fell to the ground, and Chen Luo kicked it away, sending it flying midair, where it impaled another soldier. Grabbing the body, Chen Luo hurled it far away. At that moment, the volley of arrows from outside flew toward them. Most of the arrows struck the corpse, while Chen Luo himself used the opportunity to swiftly dart into a building on the other side of the wall that hadn't caught fire.

With a crash, before anyone could react, he broke through the window again.

A few swift movements, and he disappeared into the darkness, vanishing without a trace.

By the time the soldiers arrived, all they saw were scattered broken wooden window frames and a dark hole through which a cold wind was blowing. The sight made General Fan's face turn ashen!

"Chase him!!"

At this point, they could not afford to let him go.

If they let him escape today, it would be him who died tomorrow. Even he wouldn't be able to withstand an assassination from a Bone Tempering expert.

Hearing the command, the soldiers quickly gave chase.

The men under General Fan were all elite soldiers, tested for loyalty, and naturally, they would not be intimidated by a ruthless bandit like Chen Luo.
