Chapter 1 - Abomination

The smell of antiseptic filled the air, sharp and sterile, as a steady beep echoed from somewhere nearby. The cold metal of the hospital bed pressed against his back, and the dull, aching sensation of exhaustion weighed heavily on his limbs. His eyelids fluttered open, and the world around him came into focus in slow, hazy blurs.

A hospital room. White walls. The sterile glow of fluorescent lights.

His body ached in ways that made no sense. His muscles were weak, his chest tight, and every breath felt like a struggle. Something was wrong—very wrong. His vision swam, flickering with shadows that didn't belong. He blinked, trying to clear his thoughts, but the more he focused, the more the room seemed to shift and twist.

"I…don't…want…to…die" he raises his hand slowly and weakly as if it was weighted down, Closing it as his hand falls and the last thing that filled the room was the machine going off signaling his death.

His body although now lifeless his soul was very much still alive, Clinging to life through his sheer will power or something more, His soul was pulled away to a distant realm or something greater than that.

He felt as if he were falling, but there was no gravity, no sensation of weight. His soul was free, drifting, and yet it was as if something—or someone—was guiding him. It was like being in the depths of a vast ocean, but he kept sinking deeper.

He had no control. No understanding of where he was, but the force pulling him seemed both comforting and terrifying in equal measure. The sensation of time and space faded. Everything became an eternal moment of strange stillness, and then, as quickly as it had started, it stopped.

He than heard a single voice one filled with love, care and kindness but also power to erase him.

"Grow well…my child"

his consciousness snapped back into focus.

He could feel it now—his very soul, reshaping, reforming. His essence was changing, becoming something new. The void surrounding him was no longer empty; it was filled with the weight of knowledge, the pressure of power, and the unsettling presence of something ancient. His soul had crossed into a realm he was unknown to.

He didn't cry or beg, He opened his eyes to something strange in his vision and could only hear moaning and groaning. He blinked, trying to clear his vision, but it only became more muddled. His eyes darted to his hands, and his heart skipped a beat as the reality of his situation set in. His fingers trembled as they flexed, but it wasn't the same. No longer was the smooth, familiar brown skin his own. Instead, his hands were covered in an eerie green flesh—rough, mottled, as if the very skin itself had rotted and grown anew.

His nails, longer than they had been before, jutted from his fingertips in sharp, black talons—demonic in appearance. His fingers curled involuntarily, as if trying to make sense of the new form, but there was no time to question. He felt... different, not just physically, but something deep within him.

His body was foreign, alien. It was no longer the frail, weak body of a human, now torn apart by death. The monstrous transformation pulsed in every fiber of his being. He flexed his hands again, this time with a sense of power.

He slowly stood on his two feet, Which were small but green as well with the same demonic black color. He looked around taking in the strange scene, he had only one thought.

"Goblins?"

He remembered the books the novels the nurses would let him read, The books which all told of goblins and how they were always the weakest and most pathetic monsters. Beings who would assault woman and destroy villages, he came to a quick realization as he realized he was one of these monsters, he didn't feel disgusted he didn't feel rage,He simply felt joy as a small bit weird smile forms on his small lips as his eyes peers into darkness.

He soon stopped smiling as his mind drifted, Wondering did god grant his wish to stay alive to have a good body, than something strange something robotic appeared in front of him. He fell back at the weird screen as it spoke in his head

"[Welcome, User.]

[Soul Transfer: Complete.]

[Race: Goblin Variant - Designation: Unknown Evolutionary Type.]

[Initializing System...]

[Analyzing Host Condition...]

[Cognitive Function: Stable.]

[Memory Integrity: Intact.]

[Emotional State: Low Pulse Curiosity.]

[Beginning Awakening Protocol.]"

His heart—if it still beat the way it once did—lurched

"He thought to himself a system, Like in those other books. LitRPGs. Fantasy progression novels. The kind where the protagonist would level up, grow stronger, evolve beyond imagination.

"He stared, eyes wide—not with fear, but with recognition. A part of him had hoped for this. Dreamed of something like this while trapped in that decaying body. And now?

Now, it was real."

The system green screen glowed brightly as it fully adjusted, It spoke calmly in his head.

"Welcome otherworlder, I am your assistant in this world, left behind by gods long forgotten. A remnant of order among chaos. I exist to help you overcome all possibilities—known or unknown."

He didn't waste time and picked up on the god left behind, And quickly realized The gods created this realm as a crucible. A proving ground. But one brought him here maybe it felt bad and wanted someone to fix they mistakes, He didn't care or question it anymore cause he was simply overjoyed at the new body.

He still was hearing the loud moaning and grew annoyed of it, And walked to the sound of it seeing a old goblin man about his height assaulting a woman. Who seems to be in her mid twenties strange enough he didn't feel anything from seeing it. He simply felt annoyed he wanted to think and this old man ruined his thought, But the more he looked on the more he realized why didn't he care tho? Was it the goblin blood flowing through him. He walked off with the thought that was one of those woman's was possibly his mother.

He walked through the cave quietly, He also thought to himself as he saw light. He quickly run outside and breathed in the fresh air bathed in the sun, Enjoying the feeling he let out a low sigh tho it was short lived. As the system appeared and gave him a quest.

"Kill five beings to open you're core." The system spoke in his mind with no remorse

"[Progress: 0/5]"

The young goblin eyes narrowed quickly as he quickly found some ants, Not a second later as he just started stomping on the ants. Any ants that came on him he would swipe off him with his hand which was fast like lighting.

"[Prpgress: 50/5]"

A slow smirk crept onto his small lips as he looked down at the decimated swarm. Crushed limbs, twitching remains, broken bodies—fifty lives taken in seconds.

I would hear the system chime as it speaks in that eerie cold tone again.

"Congratulations on finishing you're first quest. User can now awaken a core." I would watch the system as it shows five cores all five in different colors, and I could tell that all of them was something amazing.

The system would waste no time explaining the cores to my ignorant mind.

"Red core: Way of assassin"

"Blue core: Way of sniper"

"Gold core: Way of mage"

"Black core: Way of tank"

"Green core: Way of illusion" the system would chime again as it speaks.

"These are the most basic goblins cores, But due to host finishing the quest before time and taking more lives than original." I would

See the system add three more options as my mind instantly realized what they are.

"White core: way of magic"

"Sliver core: way of cultivation"

"Colorless core: way of mana and chi" I looked at them all understanding. He did had a fair understanding of magic and cultivation that was just a steal, and who was he to reject it he pressed the colorless core. As his body glowed just enough as the system chimed

"User has chosen: [Colorless Core: Way of Mana and Chi]

Initializing…

Path unlocked: Dual Force Evolution

All routes are open. All limitations are removed. You are now the first existence of you're race on this path

Warning: Stability unknown. Growth potential—infinite."

He heard the system but he didn't care he was simply just grinning, He soon sit down on the ground on the dirty ground as his mind wonder to it now. The system wasted no time again to show him his stats

He would look confused and asked the system what type is it.

"I am a Fate Predation System. Anyone who possesses good potential to become something grand or have a huge amount of fate, I help you break them down so you can grow stronger that is what I am."

He thought to himself that this is strange, but he didn't question it he just looked at the screen over looking it. As the system gave him a quest.

His eyes would widen in shock, He pondered the thought and moves his hand against his bald head, he headed back into the cave seeing his thoughts filled. He stopped as he seen the old man sitting down with a grin on his face, He walked over to the fellow goblin as he sit down near the old man.

The old man looked at him for but a moment and try to bite his head, The young goblin grabbed his head and wasted no time slamming him into the ground with his weak arms that was pulsing with strength. The rule of strength he knew it well if you had strength you could do anything but if you didn't you are only food. When he was going to let the old man up the system popped up he knew it was something good.

"[Mini quest]"

"[kill the old goblin]"

"[Reward: leader of the carven. One mana flower]"

He didn't care to read the rest as he grabbed a near by rock and started bashing the old man head in, blood covering him painting his skin in the beautiful but twisted color of red. The old goblin made strange noises each time he was cracking his skull open.

the young goblin was beyond caring. He kept hitting, relentlessly, until the old goblin's head was nothing more than a broken, bloody mess. The noises stopped, replaced by the quiet drip of blood pooling beneath him.

As the body of the old goblin fell limp, the young goblin stepped back, breathing heavily. His skin was slick with the blood of his prey, his small form standing over the mangled corpse. For a brief moment, there was silence. Then, the system chimed in, its mechanical voice flat and devoid of emotion.

"[Mini Quest Complete]

[You have become the Leader of the Cavern.]

[One Mana Flower has been added to your inventory.]

[Mini Quest Complete]

[You have become the Leader of the Cavern.]

[One Mana Flower has been added to your inventory.]"

He would quickly check his inventory and picks the flower as the system show it's description.

[mana flower]

[Description]

A rare and potent flower that grows in areas rich in magical energy. It contains an immense amount of raw mana and can be used to replenish a person's mana reserves instantly. Eating it will increase the user mana but also provide a boost to magical ability and physical strength.

Effect:

Restores 100% of Mana.

Boosts physical strength by 15%.

Boosts magical abilities by 20%.

He brought it to his lips. He didn't savor it. He just consumed it, swallowing the petals whole. Almost immediately, he felt the energy surge through his body—like a sudden rush of electricity, filling him with raw, untapped power.

His muscles twitched with new strength, and he could feel the magic swirling within him. His senses sharpened, and his vision seemed to sharpen too. The world around him became clearer, sharper, as if he could feel the pulse of life in everything. The cave walls, the dirt under his feet, even the air—everything hummed with potential.

But what he most took notice of was the heavy breathing he looked up. His strange pupils sharp looking at his fellows goblins who are all backed into a corner scared out of their minds. They were afraid of him…he simply grinned and chuckled at this, He forgot how weak goblins were.

He didn't waste time to give his first order.

"You…hunger?" He spoke calmly but his voice was kind, as the goblins looked at the old man and they all begin rushing to his corpse like beast in heat. Not wasting time ripping him apart.

the young goblin tho he didn't care he turned and walked back to where the old man was assaulting the woman. He saw multiple woman tied up some with big belly's and some with there stomachs ripped open, He found something sharp a rusty knife maybe, the goblins used this to torture them he didn't question it he picked it up his hand grasping it. He walked to the first woman saying he is sorry as he quickly slit her throat.

Turning his gaze from the dead woman, the young goblin moved toward the others, his hand still gripping the blade tightly. Each woman he encountered, he offered the same hollow apology, followed by the same swift end. Their suffering was not his concern; he stood in a pool of blood as he lowers his head for but a moment and nods his head. He soon enough heard his favorite sound the system voice.

"Congratulations for killing ten humans and five unborn goblins"

A brief pause followed, and then the reward appeared on the screen in front of him.

Reward:

500 XP

10 Fate Points

Basic Skill: Goblin Blood Surge (Increases physical strength temporarily)

Unlocked: chi/mana core scroll

He didn't care about the other things his gaze. Focused on the chi/mana scroll and he wasted no time checking what it could do.

Chi/Mana Core Scroll: Consuming this scroll will allow you to absorb the essences of Chi and Mana, unlocking a new path for your cultivation. Your energy reserves will expand, granting you access to higher-tier techniques

He would grin and not care he would sit on the blood and remember all the books he read in a flash of a second all of them being one thing, His body floated off the ground as the blood of the dead swirl around him like a swirl.

Soon enough he used the scroll as his green skin glows as it seems to peel back and he slowly grows hair, As the blood around him covers him like a tomb he felt the power, everything all at once it was like his mind was being torn into multiple places. He focused himself enduring as he molded his colorless core into his being into his soul, His two path slowly becoming one path.

He could feel it his core turning into something that fits him well as his chi and mana became one he hit the ground as the dead bodies of the woman the blood was all gone he slowly stood up his blood felt anew.

The system didn't waste time.

"Transformation Complete."

"New physical Unlocked:Devouring Heart Demon Core"

"Ability Unlocked: Blood Magic Manipulation."

The system spoke in his head once again as if prasing the nameless goblin.

"Core Update: Colorless Core – Fused]

He would grin slightly as he close and opens his hands. Feeling the energy inside his strange body he would exit the room seeing all the goblins laying around the bones of the old man.

He would snicker to himself preparing for the future.
