Chapter 19 - Class B Takes Collective Action

After Hoshinomiya-sensei announced the school's rewards, the class buzzed for a moment before settling down. Everyone knew the class competition would be fierce, but thanks to Hashima's excellent performance, Class B had already gained 100 evaluation points right from the start—a fantastic beginning.

"Alright, let's begin the lesson. Please take out your English textbooks."

Once the excitement subsided, Hoshinomiya-sensei regained her composure and started fulfilling her duties as a teacher.

The first day's lessons weren't too difficult, and the students in Class B studied diligently. Moreover, Hashima had repeatedly emphasized the importance of not breaking school rules to avoid any deduction of class evaluation points. Thus, a studious atmosphere persisted in the classroom, with everyone doing their best.

Until the end of the afternoon classes, when the teacher announced the end of the day.

Students could then participate in club activities or return to the dorm to rest if they had no club commitments.

However, after the teacher left, no student in Class B moved. They were all waiting for one person, who would step onto the stage to announce his plan.

"Let's go, Ichinose."

Hashima softly called to Ichinose Honami, sitting beside him. During the break, he had discussed some details of the plan with her and reached a preliminary agreement.

"Got it, Hashima."

After they both stepped onto the stage together, the class immediately fell silent. Every student watched attentively.

This was Class B's first meeting to devise a collective action plan, and it was important for everyone.

"Then, let me introduce the first collective action plan."

Hashima nodded to Ichinose. They had divided their tasks: the young man was primarily responsible for devising and overseeing the class competition plan, while the young girl was in charge of collecting and managing private points.

"First, regarding the phased point collection plan I proposed yesterday."

Hashima explained his plan in detail, writing each step on the blackboard. The students listened intently.

"The transaction with Class A is complete, and everyone has signed the contract. So, I believe they won't risk expulsion by breaking the rules."

"Next, there are Classes C and D. My initial idea is to collect points from Class C in a week. Therefore, students need to gather information about Class C."

"Does anyone know students from Class C? Please raise your hand."

"I know someone."

It was an ordinary-looking boy named Beppu Ryota who spoke up.

"Beppu, how do you know students from Class C?"

"Yesterday, I looked at the club recruitment posters on the bulletin board and wanted to join the school's volleyball club," explained Beppu, still a bit uncomfortable under his classmates' gaze. "Then, I met a new student at the volleyball club's recruitment booth, Oda Takumi from Class C."

"So, you joined the volleyball club together?" Hashima nodded in approval. "Very good, then I'll entrust this task to Beppu. You can gather information about Class C by chatting with him."

"But don't rush. Just find out their current situation and who their class leader is. Additional information can come later."

Beppu Ryota took this appointment very seriously and replied in a grave tone, "I understand, please trust me, Hashima."

"Of course, this kind of thing can't be entirely left to Beppu. If others have many friends, they can also use their connections, especially those with ties to Class C."

"Only by cross-referencing information can we ensure its accuracy."

"Understood, please continue, Hashima."

All students kept his words in mind, and some wondered if they had already had contact with Class C students.

"Next, it's about gathering information on point consumption." After discussing the plan to gather information about Class C, Hashima changed the subject.

"After all, we don't know how Class C students will spend the 100,000 private points they received in the first month. It would be problematic if they had no points left when we go to sell them rules. Additionally, we need to look into Class D's situation as well."

"My idea is for Class B students to group up and visit places frequented by students every day to gather information, then compile and summarize it."

"How do we do that? Hashima, can you be more specific?"

Someone raised their hand to ask.

"It's very simple."

Hashima wrote a few key locations on the blackboard with chalk: the family restaurant, the café, the karaoke, the clothing store, and the electronics store.

"Yesterday, when I had dinner with my classmates, I observed the situation at Keyaki Shopping Center. These five places are the busiest, with many students every day."

"What you need to do is visit these places and observe the spending habits of students from Classes C and D."

"But today is only the second day of school, we don't know them yet. How can we tell who's in Class C and who's in Class D?"

Upon hearing this question, Hashima smiled slightly and picked up a stack of documents on the stage. It was the first-year student directory he had just printed from Hoshinomiya-sensei during lunch break.

The directory contained each student's ID photo and basic information.

Of course, this information wasn't free. Hashima had paid 100,000 private points to Hoshinomiya-sensei for it.

The price wasn't high, as there were only 120 first-year students. Anyone skilled in social relationships could learn everyone's name and class in a short time.

"Here's the first-year student directory I bought from Hoshinomiya-sensei. It contains each student's name, photo, and class. Everyone can take a copy."

"Awesome, with this, we won't be afraid of not recognizing them."

"Hashima, you spent points again?"

"It's fine, I just received the school's reward." Hashima nodded in response to Shibata's question and continued explaining the plan.

"You can form groups and decide which areas you'll be responsible for."

"The goal isn't to follow others but simply to know what they've bought or their spending habits."

"Then, all information will be centralized here. The deadline is set for one week. I'll process it during Friday's class meeting, and then we'll decide on the next steps."

At this point, Hashima's tone became more serious, and he addressed Class B in a grave voice.

"This operation is different from the transaction with Class A. I hope everyone can participate and contribute to the class."

"More importantly, don't forget our initial goal. This plan must absolutely not be leaked. Even if you can't obtain information, don't do anything unnecessary that might arouse others' suspicions."

"Do you understand what I mean?"

"Yes, we'll do as Hashima instructed."

"Trust us, Hashima."

"It's true, I'm very discreet, I won't leak anything."

The students in the class responded loudly, affirming they would absolutely not leak the information.

"Very good, I've finished presenting my plan. Now, I'll hand it over to Ichinose to explain the point collection plan."
