It been three weeks of questionable food and taking jobs with all or one of the girls before I was let out on my own for a job. The pollution hug low in smog clouds as it rained. The rain hear apparently can be acidic or even flammable do to the amount of pollution in the world, but storms like those are few and far between now do to Biotechinas Air Scrubbers. Air Scrubbers that are damaged. So to keep the beautiful clean rain thats currently coming down several mercs me and Spark included where hired to carry the new scrubbers from the Biotech facility to several key places threw out town. Problem is these scrubbers are highly sought after By Malstrum, Dog Town and the VDB(Voodoo Boys).
So about 40 solos and teams where hired to drive from the facility to the towers that need fixing to drop of the scrubbers. 2/3 of us are decoys and the rest of us are head to actual damaged facilities that need the repair equipment. No one knows which is which including the driver all we need to know is that the pay was unbelievable! I'm talking 60,000 a head. Not a car not per facility. A head. So of course me an Spark joined up. She's driving her Quadra and me in my Coby.
She of course got lucky is head to the bad lands far far away from most of the trouble while I'm heading into Pacifica where two of the most dangerous groups that want this hear scrubber live. Also my Curse of Greed really want me to just sell the dam thing to pad my own bank account. The only reason I'm holding out is over the last 3 weeks it's been almost none stop work with the girls. I haven't gotten any rolls but my bank was sitting pretty at 300,000 Eddies. I've been really tempted to buy a roll but my curse literally makes it physically painful to even consider.
I watch as the gates are opened and 40 cars roar to life. The rolling thunder of all our engines slowly spins out onto the roads of night city. Every couple of miles a few trucks and cars break off head twords their drops till it's finally my turn to break off. I peal away kicking my engine up in pace it's a heavily armored thing and it tops out at about 100 mph but I'm not going that fast. I'm chugging along at an even 70 mph like every other car on this highway system. I'm going that slow as to not stick out anymore than i already do in my armored Nomad upgraded Truck.
With in about 30 minutes I'm pulling off the highway and in to Pacifica proper. Pacifica is what's called a combat zone. No police presence almost at all. The homeless are rampant and the mega corps have nearly 0 control out here. The only thing out here are VDB, Hounds From Dog Town and Scavs. But at the far end of it all is an oil field that Biotechnica has an air scrubber at.
The rain was coming down in sheets. I had taken a small risk and drove along the road close to the beach thinking I'd be far enough away to only deal with maybe some VDB or Scavs. But I was wrong as I pass by one of the last sections of beach before I hit the great mall I see a few drones fly up. Not just any drones eather. Militech combat drones, Wyverns, and pulling up on the road behind them was several green black and gold trucks.
I go to gun it threw the Mall parking lot to lose them only to see a bunch of Trucks and Vans in bright pinks Reds golds and oranges with the words animals on them. Fucking great. I gun the engine twords the animal as I took the 3AX out. I turn my wheel sharply drifting to a stop as I opened my armored door raising the 3AX. And I sprayed out rounds aiming for the lead truck and the 2 combat drones. I watch the driver get shredded as the heavy caliber ammo tore threw the light armor and engine. The two drones took longer and by the time bot where down one had started firing clipping me in the arm. Luckily do to my subdermals I'm fine my my shirt wasn't. And these things are expensive! 300 eddies a pop for the nice Synthsilk and cotton.
I growl as I toss the 3AX which was close to empty and gunned it. Some of the animals that had started closing in from my other side opened fire but only the one guy with a heavy machine gun even dinked the Nomad armor. I flew down the road and up into VDB territory with the Animals and Hounds on my tail. And with them not shooting at each other ment the hounds hired out side help.
I sighed making a call. "Sasha under fire. Can you find me a route to the corporate defense lines?" I asked as a hologram of Sasha came up in the top right hand corner of my vision.
"That is my job today." She said with a giggle. Her and Rebecca stayed back to provide Netsuport. She was currently deep diving into the Net something I still hadn't done yet.
As I wait on her I do fire of a quick self destruct demon to one of the animals vehicles. This little beauty sadly couldn't get threw the ice of the Hounds Transport trucks but it could tear threw the animals standard off the lot ice. No animal ever put much into Cyberware or there vehicles ice. So I could target the Hounds personnel with quick hacks and demos I couldn't their trucks and vise versa for the Animal.
"Alright hit the next left and head back tawords Night City proper and right pass the entrance to Dog Town. Them hook a nother left infront and go pass the VDB main base. You will take it back down twords the beach and then right into the mall!"
I follow her instructions exactly taking more heavy cal fire as I past DT and several more heavy armored vehicles started chasing. Luckily i didn't take fire very long as the VDB opened fire with Smart weapons and Tech snipers on me and the convoy chasing me. I hit the gas harder pushing 120 as I went into a slide keeping my engine safe as I hit the mall parking lot again. This time with no one holding me up. I kept the speed up as I missed pedestrians by inches flying threw the streets, Tawords the oil rigs. As I saw them coming up I saw something running at me. As I turned i watched as what I can only describe as a human woman recking ball slammed into my driver door. It hit me so hard my car swarved into a set of Concrete walls flipping me over. With a growl I stuck the 3AX back in my Pocket Space. I had already stuck the filters in there. But to hide that fact i grabbed the bag filled with Toxic and frag grenades in my back seat. And dropped out of my now damaged truck.

I felt my Greed spike as I stood up seeing the tower of grotesque muscle and flesh. She was easily 7 feet tall and one of her arms was as wide as my torso. She carried a sledgehammer that looked as tall and wide as me. With a growl I raised Rose and fired only for the round to bounce off her head. She let out a laugh as she began to charge me. I dropped the bag and started charging up Rose. I dove out of the way as her hammer vaporized the wall I had been standing against. It just crumbled to dust not even chunks. I released the trigger putting the charged shot dead center of her chest just for it to flatten with the screams of metal.
"Hahaha! I have military grade Subdermal and Chitin. You'd need something stronger to punch threw me." She laughed as she began to stock twords me. I growled and charged up two more shots putting dead center of her chest again and again. Each one she seemed to get more and more mad till in the middle of my 3 shot she seemed to dash. Not like Spark but just a sudden and explosive increase of momentum.
She swung her hammer down over head and it would have killed me instantly if I had rolled backwards coming up I fired again watching again as it screeched and fell to the floor but I could finally see a small trickle of blood. 4 shots in the same spot and I'm only starting to get blood. I duck under a horizontal swing if the massive hammer diving between her legs into a roll to my feet. I sprint tawords the bag inching closer and closer before dive barely avoiding her hammer that came all to close to pulping my head.
With a role I'm up facing her with just enough time to throw up my hard light shield before her hammer smashes into it. The force sends me skidding backwards and may arm numb. I drop my shield whipping my right arm out the glowing edge of my mono wire cutting threw the darkness, Smog, and rain cutting a deep grove threw her face and left eye. I see the implant split in half but it only cuts a small line threw her armor. Beside the eye it was superficial damage. All it truely did was piss her off.
Which, I'm guessing, is why as soon as she starts screaming I'm sent flying by her over sized hammer. My right arm is completely shattered I feel several damage if not outright broken ribs. "I was just going to kill you! But now I'm going to break you. I'm going to find everything you love and watch as I break them too. And when you have nothing left. I hen your little more then a husk of your former self that's when I'll make your death something that every XBD enjoyer has seen! Your death will be so painful and magnificent that it will be spoke in hushed whispers for years to come!" She shouted spittle leaving her mouth with every word making her look like a rabid animal.
"Wow you still think your going to leave here alive?" I laugh in pain as I struggle to stand up. Pulling out a stim from my pocket space behind my back and slamming into my chest. I can feel the pain easing as the pain killers take the edge off and the chemicals start to stem the Internal bleeding.
She stops looking puzzled turning her head this way and that. "What? I don't see any back up?" She began to cackle like a hyena. "I'm the one that should have all this confidence! You are small and weak! I'm an Alpha! An Apex Predator! You? Your just a puny little runt!"
"Yeah well this runt out smarted the big bag alpha." I say. I can see Rose laying on the ground a half dozen feet between me and this Abomination of Flesh metal and steroids. I'd never reach it in time for my plans. But I can't risk my turmp unless I'm truly sure I'm dead with out it so I ping the arena. Time slows as I enter the data stream.
Two cameras. Two cameras that with a thought overload and explode in flashes of static. I swap data steams to the sub net the VDB have up and see four more that I melt down with and overheat. As time snaps back and I'm as safe as I'm going to be my Kyubi pops into existence in my left hand as I shoot the bag as Sasquatches feet.
The bad of explosives explodes with duck force I can see her legs basically vaporize just from the heat and multen metal. She's flung twords me landing near Rose. Her hammer or what's left of it was slowly being melted by the acid that was also making steady work at totaling my car. Sasquatch her self was some how still alive one arm and her lower body completely gone just burned and cauterized stump at the waist and elbow. Her remaining arm was mangled and slowly being eaten threw by acid. Truely not a way I'd ever want to go out. As I stopped infront of her dismissing my rifle I picked up Rose. I kicked the shit smear over. Her face was etched in pain and horror. With a hint of suprice. I see her go to say something but I don't let her. A single charged shot punches threw her other cybernetic eye and she never speaks again.

With a sigh I take the blueprints and a cooking skill. What a waste of a roll. I hear a vehicle approaching. I spin rasing Rose only to see Sasha's bike with Rebecca on it. I smile and stubble over to the scrap metal that is my truck to take the scrubs from my pocket space.
I stubble tawords Rebecca. She slides to a stop besides me. "Holy shit! Are you okay!" She screeched in panic.
"Rebecca my right arm is has no bones…" I sigh as I straddle back up behind her.
"Okay! Okay. I'll get you to… HOLY SHIT! Is that Sasquatch?" She screamed.
"Yes she was the worse." I sigh as I tie my self to her waist.
"Nova! Wait your arm! I'll get you to the Michaels!" I pull her against me and growl into her neck.
"Let's finish the job. I'm going to have to replace the entire arm anyway."
"No! But? Fine! But if you die I'll kill you! You fucking Gonk ass brain dead fool." The words spilled from her like a flood of anger and anxiety. With a sigh as she took off I spun the legendary rolls.
