Chapter 13 - You Have a Death Wish

Little Naruto walked home in a composed manner, still surrounded by cold and hateful gazes. The village's malice hadn't diminished in the slightest, and had even intensified.

However, no one dared to gather and whisper, hurling various vicious curses at him anymore. Unlike before, their malice stemmed more from fear.

Everyone avoided him like the plague.

As the saying goes, good news doesn't travel, but bad news spreads far and wide.

Konoha was just a village. What happened this morning was pretty much known throughout the village by the afternoon. However, due to the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen's, decree and the Konoha Military Police Force actually arresting people, everyone was angry but dared not speak out.

This made Naruto feel unprecedentedly clear-headed. That's right, he's the Demon Fox.

Fear was normal; constantly bullying and cursing him was simply outrageous.

He walked down the streets of Konoha with his hands in his pockets and a warm smile on his face, as if he were in his own living room. After all, no one dared to approach him, and everyone made way for him from a distance.

Wherever he went, the place would instantly fall silent, as if all the birds had stopped singing. Only after he had left a certain distance would people dare to mutter a few curses under their breath.

Even the stray dogs in the corners of the streets, sensing the Nine Tails' Chakra emanating from Naruto from afar, would run away without a trace. It could be said that he was universally disliked.

Since that was the case, Naruto wasn't in a hurry to go home.

For the entire afternoon, Naruto wandered around Konoha. He went wherever there was excitement, and if a shop showed particularly strong malice towards him, he would go right inside, touching this and looking at that. Several shops nearly went out of business that afternoon.

However, there were a few who were more resilient and directly cursed at him, spewing all sorts of vicious curses.

Then Naruto would look at them with a face full of regret as they were taken away by the Konoha Military Police Force for a cup of tea.

The feeling of "you don't like me, but you can't do anything about it, and if you curse at me, you'll have to go to jail" undoubtedly made Naruto feel even more comfortable.

"You little brat, do you enjoy this kind of boring game so much?"

Finally, Kurama, who was lying in the Sealing Space, couldn't hold back any longer.

Naruto was a little surprised and responded in his mind.

"Kurama, you're not angry anymore?"

Naruto's words made Kurama feel even more stifled, and he snorted coldly.

"Hmph, even if I'm angry, can you come in and let me beat you up?"

"Haha, I'll improve my strength next time and find you for a fight," Naruto said shamelessly.

"Hmph!" Kurama didn't want to argue with Naruto on this topic. After more than a year of getting along, he had long discovered that this Little Blondie Naruto didn't know what face was.

Instead, he said disdainfully, "Is this your way of retaliating against Konoha?"

"Well, there's no other way, I can't do bad things in broad daylight, can I?" Naruto said in his heart with some helplessness, but then a lot of evil grew, and he said gloomily, "No matter how anxious I am, I have to wait until night, right?"

"..."

Kurama was silent. He suddenly realized that the already dim Sealing Space had become even deeper, and even the sealing gate and the bars were stained with dark patterns.

He realized why his Chakra hadn't caused this kid to lose control. If a drop of sewage falls into an inkwell, what impact can it have other than a little ripple?

After obtaining those Sharingan eyes, Naruto's malice had no more shackles.

...

Dusk, the boundary between day and night, is also known as the witching hour.

After wandering around for a day, even though Naruto still had plenty of energy, the smell of cooking smoke wafting from the buildings on both sides of the street made him feel a bit hungry.

In a corner of the commercial district, Naruto looked at the shop in front of him, feeling hesitant, unsure whether to go in or not.

The red and white sign in front of the shop was particularly eye-catching, with the bold characters "Ichiraku Ramen" written on it. The smoky aroma of ramen wafted out from the gaps in the curtain, enticing passersby.

After a moment of hesitation, Naruto pulled open the two curtains and walked inside.

Inside the shop, there was only a long counter for customers to eat at. At this moment, two people were already sitting on either side of the counter, and a man and a woman were busy on the other side.

Ayame, who had been working with her father for many years, immediately noticed the new customer and stopped what she was doing, revealing a friendly smile.

"Welcome, may I ask... Naruto!" Ayame's expression froze for a moment, then quickly turned to joy.

"Naruto, you little rascal, where have you been all year? We were so worried about you."

Ayame's expression turned serious, her eyes showing the concern of an older sister for her younger brother.

"Oh, it really is Naruto. You haven't been here for over a year, and my ramen shop has added quite a few new items."

Teuchi Ichiraku also turned around when he heard the voice, greeting him with a smile.

"Haha, I've been training outside all year, and I just got back today. I'm going to try all of Uncle Teuchi's new items."

Naruto scratched his head with a smile, a rare genuine smile on his face in front of outsiders.

As expected, Uncle Teuchi and Ayame-san didn't harbor any ill will towards him, even after what happened today.

This was one of his few havens in Konoha, but the malice that suddenly intensified with his arrival still made him feel uncomfortable.

Little one, there's more to this chapter, please click on the next page to continue reading, the following is even more exciting!

Frowning, he chose to sit closer to the other person. Strange, this person didn't seem to have any malice either.

Naruto curiously looked over. Distinctive silver hair, a headband covering his eyes, a mask covering half of his face, and a small book with an unreadable cover.

Kakashi Hatake!

Naruto didn't expect to meet him here, but he didn't think much of it and sat next to him as if nothing had happened.

Kakashi Hatake only glanced at Naruto when he entered, his stagnant eyes only rippled slightly before returning to their lifeless state.

"Speaking of which, Naruto has grown a lot taller this year. He wasn't even as tall as this counter before, hahaha."

Ayame, who was preparing chopsticks for Naruto, laughed.

"Really?" Naruto stood up again to compare, and he was indeed half a head taller than the counter.

But that was normal. He had been eating all kinds of wild game outside for more than a year, all high-protein, high-nutrition foods, plus Chakra assistance, so he had indeed grown a lot taller.

"Maybe it's because of training," Naruto explained with a smile, putting on a showy look.

"Ayame-neechan, I've already learned ninjutsu, you know."

"Ninjutsu? Naruto is amazing."

Ayame's eyes sparkled with admiration. She and her father had been running the ramen shop in Konoha for more than ten years, so she naturally knew how impressive it was to know ninjutsu at the age of six.

"Speaking of which, Kakashi-sama, didn't you also know ninjutsu at the age of six?"

Ayame suddenly started chatting with Kakashi next to her, probably because she didn't sense any hostility towards Naruto from him, so she wanted to introduce the two. Geniuses should have more common topics.

Kakashi's hand holding the book subconsciously tightened its grip. After hesitating for a moment, he nodded slightly.

Naruto put on an exaggerated, funny expression and exclaimed, "Eh—this one-eyed uncle is as amazing as me?"

One-eyed uncle...

Kakashi's dead fish eyes couldn't help but roll upwards, without any response.

The teacher's child, his personality is really completely different from the teacher's.

The atmosphere suddenly became a bit silent, and Ayame, who had started the conversation, also felt a bit awkward and changed the subject.

"Naruto, are you finishing your training now because you're going to enroll in the Ninja Academy?"

"Yeah." Naruto nodded happily, not at all affected by Kakashi's indifference.

Ayame's eyes showed relief: "Since you're going to school, you'll definitely be able to make more friends, right?"

"I will definitely..."

"Bang!"

A loud noise suddenly interrupted Naruto's unfinished words. Ayame was also startled and found that the customer next to them had finished their ramen, stood up, and slammed the chopsticks hard on the table.

Ayame quickly stepped forward with a polite expression and asked, "Sir, is the ramen not to your liking?"

The man snorted coldly, glanced sideways at Naruto's position, silently mouthed the word 'unlucky', then looked at Ayame with disgust, and shouted with a voice that could carry for several streets.

"Your noodles are simply the worst thing I've ever eaten. Opening a shop here is just wasting Konoha's land. You should just close down."

After saying that, he quickly walked out without looking back.

Ayame was stunned for a moment, and immediately realized that the other party was deliberately making trouble. Her originally gentle face also turned cold, her eyebrows furrowed slightly, and her cheeks flushed slightly due to emotional excitement.

Looking at the clean empty bowl on the table, she gritted her teeth.

She also leaned her hands on the counter, stretched her upper body out, and shouted angrily at the departing figure, "You, you ate the ramen so cleanly even though it wasn't good? If you have the guts, come back and explain what was bad about it!"

The man quickened his pace and quickly disappeared into the crowd.

Seeing this, Ayame had no choice but to clean up the empty bowl on the table, and then she realized another problem.

"That bastard actually dared to eat without paying!"

Ayame was even more angry. She had never seen anyone eat a free meal so arrogantly.

'This guy has a death wish.'

Naruto lowered his head, a fierce glint in his eyes, already remembering the other party's scent.

I'll be at your doorstep soon.

"Ayame-neechan, I'm sorry."

Hearing this, the expression on Ayame's face softened a lot, but still with some dissatisfaction, she said to Naruto, "Naruto, this has nothing to do with you. It's one thing for this guy to eat ramen without paying, but he's also so rude."

At this moment, Naruto suddenly felt a hand touch his head.

He turned his head to look and suddenly noticed that Kakashi had finished his noodles and turned to leave. He had the Sharingan, and the higher-ups in Konoha didn't want him to have too much contact with the Jinchuriki.

And on the table where Kakashi had been sitting, there was more than enough money to cover two bowls of ramen.

"It seems Kakashi actually likes Naruto quite a bit." Ayame looked at the money on the table with some surprise, holding back a smile as she said, "Kakashi is such a tsundere."

"Is that so?"

Naruto propped his cheek with his left hand, watching Kakashi's figure disappear into the darkness, not knowing what he was thinking.
