Luna loved climbing trees. Theo lovesd reading books.
But more than anything they loved imagining things no one could see.
One bright afternoon, while helping their teacher carry books in the school library, Luna noticed a tiny door behind a dusty bookshelf .It had swirly silver hinges and a door knob shaped like a crescent moon.
"Did u see that"?Luna whispered.
Theo peeked around the shelf and grinned "Adventure"?.
"Adventure", Luna nooded.
They slipped through the tiny door and tumbled into a sky full of colors.
The clouds weren't white, they were pink and gold and lavender, trees had jelly bean leaves. A rainbow river twirled below. And right in front of them was a small dragon . As blue as the morning sky, with twinkly white spots like stars on its wings.
First the kids were terrified but not until the dragon spoke .
"H-hello", the dragon spoke shyly. "i'm Nimbus ".
A snort followed from behind a cotton candy bush. Out waddled a rosy pig with a tiny unicorn horn and sparkly wings that buzzed like bees .
"I am poppycorn"! She squealed. "Wanna play cloud ball? "
Luna gasped .Theo jaw dropped and then they both laughed , because this was exactly the kind of thing they dreamt about .
But as they played,Nimbus grew quiet.
"Other dragon say I don't look right ". He mumbled." They think am too soft. Too strange ."
Poppycorn nodded," And the unicorn told me pigs can't be magical. But am magical ! I just sparkle differently !"
Luna knelt beside them . "Being different is what makes you special" .
Theo smiled. "Without difference, the world would me boring ".
Just then a gust of wind rattled the jelly bean trees . The sky dimmed and the rainbow river turned grey.
"Oh no!", cried poppycorn the color tree is fading ! That only happens when the dreamland is losing magic.
Nimbus flapped his wings "We have to find the cloudberry crystals .They are the only thing that can bring back the color ".
"But they are hidden" said poppycorn .
Only those with imagination and heart can find them ".
Luna took Theo's hands and said,"Then we better start now ".
And so the four friends set off into the colorless caves, through the Gigglegrass fields and across the wobble bridge,each place teaching them that bravery isn't about being big , and magic lives in kindness and courage .
And when they finally reach the glowing cloudberry Tree,it bloomed again not from the crystal but from something even brighter.
