Chapter 1 - Defiant Vihaan

Chapter 1: A Simple Day or a Twist of Fate?

Chandigarh City, India

The morning sun stretched lazily across the streets of Chandigarh, bathing the city in a golden hue. The hustle of weekend traffic had yet to begin, and a quiet calm rested over the narrow lanes.

At a modest tea stall tucked between two busy shops, a young man moved with familiar ease. His name was Vihaan — twenty years old, second-year college student, and an orphan who had learned early how to survive in a world that gave him nothing for free.

Unlike most boys his age, Vihaan didn't have the luxury of lazy Sundays or college hangouts. His day began before most even opened their eyes, and ended only when the last cup of tea had been served. He worked hard—not because he wanted to, but because he had to. Every rupee earned at this tea shop went toward his rent, food, and college fees.

But today was slightly different.

It was Sunday—his one day off from college—and strangely, Vihaan had the whole day to himself. No lectures, no assignments, just a full shift at the tea shop. And weirdly enough, he didn't mind. Work had become his escape. In the rhythm of boiling water and clinking cups, he found a strange kind of peace.

From inside the shop, a loud voice echoed, slicing through the calm.

"Vihaan! Oye, five chai to Haryana General Store. Jaldi leke ja!"

It was the tea shop owner, known simply as Boss — a grumpy, loud man with a permanent frown and a soft corner for Vihaan that he never admitted to.

Vihaan chuckled under his breath. "Yes, Boss!" he called out with a playful smile.

He quickly poured five steaming cups of chai, placed them carefully on a metal tray, and stepped out onto the street.

The sun hit his face, warm and bright, but Vihaan barely noticed. His mind was already drifting — thinking about college fees, monthly rent, and the long list of problems he had no time to fix.

He balanced the tray with practiced ease and crossed the road.

What he didn't know, though — what no one knew — was that this ordinary delivery, on this seemingly simple day, would mark the beginning of something extraordinary.

His life was about to change forever.
