Chapter 19 - Deducing the Tomb's Location?!

"Hmm, you contact him."

Yang Qingxi thought for a second, then nodded.

Just now, she planned to let Su Mo search for the Tomb entrance. After all, he has many tricks up his sleeve. He should have a way. However, she also wanted to see if the experts she called were worthwhile or not.

If they are good, she might consider recruiting them.

"Yes, Miss."

Zhang Xulin activated her communicator to reach out to Qin Maosheng, a renowned Feng Shui master, who was now in the Tianzai Village.

"Mr. Qin, are you ready?"

"Leave it to me, Miss Zhang." A deep voice full of vicissitude sounded through the communicator. Qin Maosheng's calm voice continued speaking. "Please share the terrain footage with me."

"Just a moment."

She deployed a drone, its rotors humming as it ascended into the overcast sky, sending live aerial footage directly to Qin Maosheng's screens.

From his remote study, in the hotel at Tianzai Village. Qin Maosheng, surrounded by ancient geomantic texts and compass instruments, began analyzing the natural formations in real-time, searching for signs of imbalance of energies. He looked for convergence points of yin energy, areas where the land's contours sank unnaturally or where water pooled without flow, classic signs of an ominous site.

Qin Maosheng squinted at the display, adjusting the angle of his Luopan compass as he murmured to himself.

"The valley breathes yin energy... see the way the mist clings to the lower basin? It resists the wind. That's no natural airflow...it's stagnation, an accumulation of shadow energy."

Although Zhang Xulin was baffled by his words, she felt what he said was very profound.

Qin Maosheng drew a line on a rough map beside him, tapping on the screen to freeze a frame of a hollow obscured by dense, crooked trees.

"Miss Zhang, can you lower the drone to this place? I want to have a closer look."

"Huh? Yeah, sure!"

Zhang Xulin looked at the marked area and then did as she was told.

Finally, after half an hour of observation and study, Qin Maosheng pointed at the screen frame and sent the coordinates to Zhang Xulin.

"There. A crescent ridge. Water collects at its base, but notice—it doesn't flow out. That's a dead pool. Water without movement traps yin. A favoured spot for sealing spirits."

Zhang Xulin leaned closer to the communicator, her brow furrowing as she adjusted the drone's camera.

"You're saying the tomb is near that ridge? But it's almost hidden."

As she said that, she also glanced at Yang Qingxi and Su Mo, who stood beside her without speaking a word.

Qin Maosheng stroked his beard and affirmed with confidence.

"Precisely. The ancients chose places where life retreats. Look again—no birds, no insects. The trees there twist toward the ground, as if bowing. That's not just age—that's suppression."

He paused, placing the Luopan over the digital image, aligning it with the valley's natural lines. Then stated firmly.

"The tomb lies where three flows meet—mountain, water, and shadow. That hollow is the heart of it. A yin eye. Mark it."

Zhang Xulin glanced at Su Mo and Yang Qingxi, seriousness flickering across her face.

"Then that's our destination. Mr. Qin, I will contact you after we arrive there."

"Please," Qin Maosheng said politely, followed by his serious warning. "Proceed with caution. A place built to seal the dead is not meant for the living to linger. There will be dangers ahead."

*Beep*

---

"… This is it, Miss Yang." Zhang Xulin placed the coordinates and the picture in front of Yang Qingxi. "The location is roughly six miles from here, deep within the valley. Regardless the tomb is truly there or not, reaching it would be difficult."

Only now did Yang Qingxi remember that Zhang Xulin wasn't aware of her current strength.

'No wonder.'

With a faint smile, Yang Qingxi took a step towards a tree, and under Zhang Xulin's disbelieving eyes, she punched through the thick tree trunk.

"What?! How is that possible?!"

Zhang Xulin was so shocked that she couldn't describe her current bitter feeling in words.

"Miss, you-"

Her young miss first recruited a freak like Su Mo as her bodyguard, and now it turns out she, herself, was so powerful. Then, what's the use of her? To run errands.

When she thought of this, Zhang Xulin felt very depressed.

'Am I going to lose my job?'

Just when she felt like crying, she discovered another heartbreaking fact.

"Su Mo, you don't seem surprised at all?! Did you already know that young miss was so powerful?!"

Zhang Xulin felt deeply hurt. After all the years they had spent together, her young miss had chosen not to confide in her about something so important. Instead, she placed her trust in Su Mo, a newcomer who had been with them for less than a week. The sense of betrayal stung deep.

Su Mo was unaware of Zhang Xulin's inner monologue. He just stated the truth.

"Not really. She didn't tell me."

When his words sounded in Zhang Xulin's ears, it made her dull eyes brighten.

"Really?"

Su Mo nodded. "With my level, it's easy to see through her strength."

Zhang Xulin was relieved to hear this. It turned out that she misunderstood. Her young miss hid her true strength from everyone. It's just Su Mo, the freak, was unreasonable and found it.

Yang Qingxi had a vague guess about Zhang Xulin's thoughts, which made her let out a faint smile. She didn't bother to explain because there was no need. As time comes, Sister Xulin would understand.

"Su Mo, what do you think? Is the tomb there?" She asked, wanting to hear his opinion.

Su Mo stood at the edge of the cliff and activated his [Devil's Eyes].

The effect of the first stage of [Devil's Eyes]: Insight. The ability to see through everything.

From what Su Mo understands, these abilities would also become stronger with the increase in her strength. After the 'Insight' reaches a certain level, he can even see the past and the future. It's a very unreasonable ability.
