Chapter 6 - Competition

" These are the reports from this month's sales and stocks."

" Hm."

" Dante,Anything on your mind?" The other man asked with curiosity, after he noticed his colleague was still quiet due him to pondering on something.

" It is nothing Vincent, I am just bothered by how our stocks and sales are fluctuating."

" It is because of how the consumers shift from our company to Hamilton Corp often."

" That is the problem, this back and forth movement is awful, today the internet gushes over VanderWoodson and Co the next day everyone is all about Hamilton Corp, this competition might harm our sales and revenue in the future. Because,If we don't please consumers, they will quickly switch to Hamilton Corp because we don't have stable and loyal consumers. Our company is dependent on trend."

" That is true, but it isn't something that our company can control due to the fact that our services and Hamilton Corp's services at the same."

" Is there not a way that we can delay them, like make them to hold on sales for a month or so?"

"That would be possible through a lawsuit, but we don't have anything on them because, there is not been any signs of them duplicating our products, their products have a unique touch to them."

" There had to be something, there must be some traces left behind." Dante said in deep thought.

" We should investigate, we should be able to find something."

" Yes." Dante and Vincent nodded in agreement.

Dante and Vincent had taken a look at their weekly stock and sales markets review and it showed that they were always fluctuating every single day because of the intense competition between them and Hamilton corp. The feud and competition between them; VanderWoodson and Co and Hamilton Corp was a very intense one. It didn't start recently but a few years ago. Though both companies were both leading and powers businesses in the country, the endless struggle for being the best was very intense.

Dante had been working for a while when he glanced at his watch and realized it was past closing time. He looked out the large windows in his office and noticed the sun was setting, confirming that the day had slipped away.

He took his suit from the suit hanger and wore it. Then he called for his personal assistant. A beautiful lady knocked on his door and cane in the office. She carried his bad and escorted him to the office garage.

The personal assistant dropped his bag in the passenger seat, and he entered the driving seat of the car. The personal assistant closed the door with gentleness to avoid doing any damage considering it was a very expensive car.

She stood opposite the car door and bowed her head in respect. He nodded at her and drove off.

As Dante drove down the road, he noticed he was being tailed by another car. The expensive-looking vehicle seemed to be following him closely, so Dante tried to shake it off without incident. However, the driver persisted, increasing their speed.

It went in for sometime till Dante reached his family estate. As Dante approached the entrance to his family estate, he made a greater effort to lose the car. Suspecting the driver might be following him with ill intentions, Dante made a mental note to check the license plate.

The car sped up and moved in front of Dante's. Just as he was about to take a look at the license plate, he noticed something that made him sigh in annoyance. The car in front of him pulled back, positioning itself opposite Dante's vehicle. The window rolled down, and Dante rolled his eyes at the sight of the person inside.

"Hellooooo!" the person chimed. Dante remained silent. "Answer me!" the person insisted.

"Can you stop being a lunatic?" Dante replied, his annoyance evident.

"I just got here, and I'm already being insulted," The person muttered.

"Anyways, see you at home, my baby." Dante scoffed.

The car drove past him, and Dante drove into his family estate. He pulled into his designated area and approached his house, where his sister was waiting for him in front of his gate

As Dante opened the gate, his sister pulled in. "What do you want?" Dante asked, after his sister winded down her tinted windows, his tone unwelcoming. "Is it a crime to want to spend time with my lovely brother?" his sister replied.

"Get off my property," Dante said gruffly. "Ouch, don't be ridiculous, Dante. You know everyone loves me," his sister said with a smile. "Because they're blind," Dante retorted.

"Whatever. How did you not know it was me?" his sister asked, curiosity piqued. "Your driving was actually decent, so you didn't cross my mind," Dante said dryly.

"Thanks! Wait... did you just imply I'm a bad driver?" his sister asked, her tone matter-of-fact. "Yes," Dante confirmed. "No, I'm not! Dad says otherwise!" his sister argued.

" Because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings."

"Isabelle," Dante said firmly. "What?" she replied. "Get off my property," Dante repeated. "Thanks for letting me in," Isabelle said with a smirk.

Dante sighed and let her stay. As Isabelle exited her car, she ran to Dante and hugged him tightly. Dante rolled his eyes but reciprocated the hug partially as they entered the house.
