Chapter 3 - Chapter II Remake A World of Heroes and a Rabbit

Author's note.

Hey guys! Yami here.

Well, I've gone back in time because I'm going to do remakes of the first chapters.

And honestly, I did terrible... Haha...

Poor Mirko, he didn't live up to his name, and I love the character...

I'm so sorry to Mirko fans!

Well, I'll live up to his reputation.

Also, I'll use the words in italics to say when someone is thinking, and in bold when Hades speaks after his Second Personality takes over.

Without further ado...

Let's Go!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~•~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Musutafu / 5 minutes before.
Point of view / Third person.
It was a quiet, ordinary day for all the passers-by in the city of Musutafu.
The sky was clear, a beautiful blue sky welcoming people who were taking shelter from the heat.
Still, it was a beautiful day in late summer.
For everyone, it was just another day, just another routine.
But what they didn't know was that an apparent terrorist attack had struck in the middle of the city during rush hour.
A huge and monumental explosion appeared in the middle of the road, taking dozens of innocent lives with it.
The explosion covered the entire area, generating a powerful shock wave that shattered the windows of nearby buildings.
And with that, several more people died from glass falling at high speeds due to gravity.
Nobody knew something like this would happen, nobody was prepared for this.
A terrorist attack on this scale would leave the country's civilian population in panic.
The center of the occupied city was filled with chaos and destruction.
And a young man with green hair witnessed it all from a safe distance.
He was on top of a building, his eyes red from sobbing.
Because just a few minutes ago, her idol, her inspiration, the man who gave her a smile and a dream, simply destroyed her dreams and hopes with the harsh and cruel reality.
He thought it was the worst thing that had ever happened to him.
But out of nowhere, a loud explosion erupted in the middle of the city just a few blocks from their current position.
And, thanks to the height of the building, he could see a large cloud of dust and debris emerging from the explosion.
He felt afraid, he felt that the villains were attacking the city.
But, ignoring his rationality, he ran down the building as fast as he could to see the heroes.
He wanted to see heroes fighting villains.
Since, in this age of superpowers, it was common training for non-powered civilians.
The huge explosion alerted all the heroes in the area.
Many heroes posted on social media and called for help from their heroic colleagues who specialize in the rescue and evacuation of the wounded.
It wasn't long before several heroes appeared in the area.
And among them, there was a poor yellow-haired man who was apparently skin and bones.
He looked at the scene with great astonishment and helplessness.
His time was up because of a green-haired boy he met earlier, so he could only pray that the heroes of the area would clean up the mess.
The heroes were alarmed, they didn't see the supposed villain with the explosion quirk anywhere.
They made several tours of the area, but they could only see a kind of green slime that captured a yellow-haired teenager, but failed to escape.
The reason it failed was because there were many heroes gathered in the area, and the only problem the heroes had was that a green-haired civilian boy tried to save the hostage.
These actions did not go unnoticed by the bony man who would try to visit the boy later.
But the heroes didn't find anyone related to the disaster from a few minutes ago.
Some were frustrated at not finding the person responsible, and one of them was a tanned woman with some rabbit-like attributes.
She, who had arrived not long ago, combed the area in an attempt to find those responsible, but could find nothing.
But, when they thought the situation was lost, they saw a black-haired boy standing in the middle of the explosion crater.
At first, they believed he was a victim and needed to be rescued, but the boy's statements led them to believe he was responsible for the incident.
—Hahahahaha damn bastard brothers thought they could kill me with just that!
But without stopping there, he screamed again.
—I, Hades, God of the Underworld, swear by my name that I will kill each and every one of those who dared to try to end my existence!
At the time they thought he was crazy, but later, when they couldn't find the person or people responsible for the terrorist act, they deduced that the person responsible was the boy who had just appeared.
And without any more time to waste, the tanned-skinned woman ran towards the boy who seemed to want to leave the place.
The speed that this woman showed was amazing.
In a matter of a couple of seconds he arrived at ground zero of the disaster and faced the boy.
But he said nothing, and only focused on analyzing the boy.
He was a boy who apparently had no wounds, burns or bruises.
His posture was calm, but his face wore a macabre smile.
The woman narrowed her eyes as she watched the boy begin to emerge from the crater where the bomb had exploded.
And, surprised by how intact it was, she didn't think twice.
The woman bounced slightly in place, then flexed her thighs and leaped forward.
A loud bang echoed in the room and the woman lifted her right leg in an upward arc.
The surprised boy instinctively raised one of his arms.
But his mistake was serious, believing that just by raising his arm he would block this woman's kick.
At the moment of impact, the horrible dry sound of a bone breaking under high pressure was heard.
A scream caught in her throat and died as it reached her mouth. Her jaw tightened and her posture faltered.
The impact knocked him off balance to the point where he was thrown back several meters.
Everyone present was stunned by such action by the rabbit woman.
And wanting to intervene, they moved forward with a firm step.
But then, she warned.
—His fucking clothes are intact, and he was in a fucking smoking crater, don't fuck with me with your false moral bullshit, he's the fucking terrorist!
With these words, the heroes who were approaching in an attempt to stop the woman stopped and thought for a few short seconds.
And they came to a single answer.
"Since when does Mirko analyze the situation?" they thought in unison, staring in disbelief at the woman's figure.
This caused a small shiver to run through her sensitive bunny ears, firmly believing that those fourth-rate heroes thought something bad about her.
With a sigh, he decided to ignore the guys' nonsense.
She took a few more steps, with slight caution, and out of the corner of her eye, she saw the same boy trying to remain firm.
And, unlike before, he was no longer as unharmed as he had been at first.
His left arm hung limply in an unnatural position with his ulna protruding slightly.
Mirko frowned at the sight, she thought she had knocked him out with the subsequent impact, but apparently, this boy was more resilient than the average villain.
The woman tensed her thighs once more, ready to repeat the attack, but stopped dead in her tracks.
With wide eyes, she watched almost in disbelief as her arm slowly moved back to its natural position.
The movement was small, almost imperceptible, but a professional hero like her wouldn't let it pass.
"Hey..." she tried to speak but was interrupted by the boy's outburst of anger.
—A damned mortal like you had the audacity to strike at this God!
Mirko frowned and crouched slightly, but something stopped her.
An almost primal feeling inside her blocked her path in that brief moment. Her survival instincts kicked in, her limbs locked, and a faint shiver ran down her spine.
"I, Hades, God of the Underworld, will teach you some manners, you cursed mortal!" the boy shouted, raising his right hand, and from it, a jet-black sphere emerged.
From the sphere, a dense smoke of the same color emerged, and slowly descended to the ground.
The heroes present and watching felt a chill run down their spines. A cold sweat invaded their bodies while a brief emptiness formed inside their stomachs.
Mirko, who was a few meters away from him, had it worse.
His quirk, which gave him the characteristics of a rabbit, could not help but feel the fear characteristic of his species.
Still, she didn't give up. She wouldn't let something as simple as fear control her, not again.
And with great effort, he began to move against his instinct to escape.
She went against the cowardly nature of rabbits and, with a huge smile, launched herself at the boy, ran a few meters and jumped.
There was no turning back, this was nothing more than an attempt to cancel and forget the escape instinct.
After all, to overcome a fear, you have to take a leap of faith.
Mirko's leg stretched out ready to hit like a battering ram.
But it was too late.
The moment the smoke hit the ground, a slight tremor unsettled those present.
And small purple cracks began to form on the ground.
Hades broke into a big smile and shouted.
—Rise up my faithful soldiers, raise your weapons against these mortals, come to me, my army of the undead!
A few more seconds passed and something began to emerge from the crack.
It was a human skull... but, it was too small.
A single soldier emerged from the crack.
The skeleton of an infant.
Everyone present, including the god himself, stared at the small skeleton that emerged from the hole.
And blinking several times, they were stupefied by such a clown act.
—La... La... Larry! What are you doing here? And where's the army? —he shouted, picking up the little skeleton in his arms and shaking him several times, trying to find the reason for it.
But the skeleton just stared at him.
And making an X sign with his fingers, he shook his little head.
The boy tried to speak more, but at that moment he felt what the word danger truly meant.
His focus had been stolen by his own actions and he ignored Mirko's charge.
This error was charged with interest.
The impact fell directly on Hades's abdomen, slightly cushioned by the small skeleton he was holding.
The sound of several bones breaking accompanied the crash of Hades as he hit a pile of rubble.
They cracked in the shape of his back and surrendered to the new cracks.
A wet cough came from Hades, a trickle of blood appearing at the corner of his mouth.
His jaw clenched as he tried to regain his composure, his legs buckled, and he fell to his knees, staring down at his summons.
And there he was, lying on the ground, with some broken bones and his head severed.
Everyone present thought the little one would be out of the fight, but everyone was pleasantly surprised when the little one stood up as if nothing had happened, and blindly began to search for his chubby head that was right in front of him.
Hades, who was watching the scene with a twitch in his eye, sighed as he felt his abdomen.
The moment he touched it, a sharp pain shot through him in a matter of seconds.
A growl caught in his throat as he slowly stood up.
"Damn... Why am I in so much pain?" he whispered, equal parts dismayed and enraged.
Before he could complain further, Larry's small skull landed at his feet.
Hades sighed heavily and, taking advantage of the fact that he was still hunched over, repositioned the little boy's head.
An imperceptible smile appeared on Hades's face, and he gently stroked the head of the once child.
At this, Mirko, who was watching the scene, lost his patience.
"Time to send you straight to the circus, you damn villain!" he said, slowly approaching the duo's position.
Hades, for his part, stared at her and cheered.
—Don't compare me to scum like that!
He closed his eyes, and on his right arm, a dim light began to glow.
—I am Hades, God of the Underworld! And you... filthy mortal, you have incurred my wrath!
A throbbing vein appeared on Mirko's forehead, her breathing becoming labored as she signaled that she was already tired of the teenager's nonsense.
He lowered his center of gravity, and aimed at his target.
But the moment he saw it, something seemed strange to him.
The left arm, which had been previously shattered, had largely recovered. The bone that had once protruded through the skin had been reattached.
"Is his quirk regenerative?" he thought, as he took off from his position.
Small debris flew up as she took off at high speeds.
She jumped as she got several feet closer to her target, and raising her leg, she screamed.
"Moonbow!" Her foot descended, aiming for the boy's right shoulder.
But then the faint light that had been shining near him dissipated completely, revealing a gauntlet made entirely of bones.
The heroes who were still waiting, looked at the scene in confusion, Mirko had hidden much of the scene, but the heroine's slight hesitation did not go unnoticed by those present.
Hades smiled widely, the corners of his lips almost splitting at the width of it.
"Corpse gear!" he shouted, raising his now gloved arm.
The axe kick hit Hades's forearm hard, a faint glow illuminating it.
They both froze in the moment, staring at each other in the brief impact.
Mirko didn't fall immediately. His body reacted instinctively, using Hades's forearm as a stool.
He flexed his legs and jumped back, doing a flip in the air before landing gracefully.
Hades frowned and looked down at his arm, which was still tingling slightly from the shockwave of the blow.
"What's this...?" he murmured, feeling the slight tingle in his palm. His golden eyes fell on the gauntlet. "Just a gauntlet...?"
Then her smile reappeared, a slow, confident curve to her lips.
—But it's more than enough to finish off a dirty mortal.
The atmosphere seemed to tense for a moment.
Mirko closed his eyes, and a warm, almost tender smile appeared on his face.
—Ahhh… —he let out a quiet sigh.
But then, a vein began to throb in his forehead. His ears twitched slightly, and when he opened his eyes again, his gaze was filled with pure hostility.
—You know, brat? I'm trying not to rip your head off... but you're making it difficult.
And without warning, he ran.
The ground cracked beneath his feet as he shot toward Hades, his running speed increasing with each step.
Hades felt a chill run down his spine. But he didn't flinch.
At the last moment, when Mirko was about to crush him with a brutal charge, he slid a step to the right and spun around.
—Too slow, mortal!
He used his gloved arm to punch Mirko square in the abdomen.
His gauntlet glowed dimly.
The impact was sharp and brutal.
The air escaped from Mirko's lungs with a gasp, and for an instant, his body folded in on itself.
Still, the woman smiled fiercely.
Taking advantage of the proximity, he grabbed the surprised boy's face and brutally slammed him against the ground.
The crunch of debris beneath the boy's head echoed maliciously as Mirko leaped back.
She landed gracefully, but she was breathing heavily.
He brought a hand to his abdomen and spat on the ground, his jaw clenched.
—Tsk… you hit harder than I expected, you fucking dwarf.
Inside the crater, Hades slowly sat up.
Blood trickled down his forehead, but instead of complaining, he began to laugh.
—Heh… hehehe… Hahahaha!
Mirko frowned.
—What the hell are you laughing at?
Hades ran his tongue over his lips, tasting the copper of his own blood. His eyes shone with a wild spark.
—This is fucking fun!
He leaped to his feet, flexing his toes. His body ached, but his blood boiled with excitement.
He looked up at Mirko, with a smile that showed all his teeth.
—Come on, bunny! Another round!
Mirko blinked, once, twice, three times. His surprise spilled over with each blink he managed.
His breathing deepened, and a wide grin spread across his face. A pair of fangs appeared, and he answered.
—Don't die so fast, brat. We're just getting started!
And both of them launched themselves into combat again.
Hades launched himself first.
His blood was boiling, his body thrumming with pure adrenaline. His gloved arm rose, ready to strike with all his might.
But Mirko was not far behind.
With a savage grin, he raised his own fist and smashed it into Hades's in a brutal clash.
BOOM!
The shock wave shook the ground, cracking it beneath their feet.
His knuckles cracked on impact, but neither gave way.
They stood like that, their gazes fixed on each other.
Heavy breathing.
Chest to chest, both panting with their skin prickling with emotion.
The civilians and heroes watching the battle from a distance felt a chill run down their spines.
They thought in unison:
—They're both completely crazy about fighting! They're the same!
The smiles on their faces, their eyes shining with a fierce intensity. Two beasts relishing the clash of power, regardless of the damage, regardless of the pain.
It was Mirko who took the initiative this time.
His foot rose in a quick, direct, medium kick.
Hades reacted instantly, raising his forearm to block.
But it was a feint.
At the last second, Mirko twisted his hip and raised his leg even higher.
—Martel!
The capoeira downward kick slammed into Hades's side with ferocious speed.
—Ghck!
The impact reverberated through his body.
Hades's gauntlet glowed even brighter as his arm tried to cushion the blow, but Mirko's strength was monstrous.
His body was thrown several steps back, his feet dragging on the cracked ground before he regained his balance.
He leaned slightly, one hand on his side.
The pain burned.
But her smile didn't disappear.
"Tsk..." He sucked air through his teeth, his left eye closing for a moment, savoring the pain with a twisted pleasure. Then he bolted upright. "I'm going to break that damn leg, bunny!"
With a roar, he launched himself at her again.
His fist flew like a projectile, straight to his face.
Mirko raised his arm, but instead of dodging, he took the blow.
The sound was dry, a "crack" that reverberated in the air.
Mirko's jaw twisted from the force of the impact, but far from collapsing… he burst out laughing.
—Kehahaha! That was fucking good!
He spat a trickle of blood onto the ground, his smile now tinged with pure euphoria.
—But that's not enough, you fucking dwarf!
And without wasting a single second, he pushed off again.
His right leg arced through the air, another downward kick, but Hades saw it coming this time.
He spun around and threw a right punch with his gauntlet wrapped in a violent glow.
Hades' fist and Mirko's leg met in an impact.
BOOOOM!
The ground sank.
Both were thrown backward, sliding from the force of the collision.
But not one fell.
They stood there, breathing heavily.
Both smiling like lunatics.
"I haven't had this much fun... in over a thousand winters..." Hades said, licking the blood on his lip.
Mirko cracked his neck, his smile pure ecstasy.
—Same here, brat.
They launched themselves at each other again.
The ground shook beneath Mirko's feet as he moved forward.
His ears moved in the wind, his muscles tense like springs ready to spring.
Hades saw her coming, but she was already within his range.
With his rabbit-like physique, Mirko was a whirlwind of speed.
"Come on, brat, keep up the pace!" he shouted with an ecstatic smile.
His fists flew in a flurry of blows.
Hades raised his arms to block him, but it wasn't enough.
BAM!
A straight blow to his side, his skin burning with the impact.
BAM!
Another in his abdomen, he felt the force pass through his body to his back.
BAM!
A third blow to his forearm as he tried to cover himself, his muscles vibrating with the pressure.
But Mirko didn't stop.
He ducked, spun around, and with the power of his legs, threw an upward punch.
Hades raised his arm, trying to block the impact.
BAM!
But his own weight betrayed him, his feet slipping on the cracked earth.
His gauntlet was burning.
The metal crackled, vibrating with latent energy.
Hades frowned, his instincts screaming at him that something was building up in his fist.
Mirko smiled.
In the blink of an eye, he disappeared from sight.
"Not bad for a mortal!" Hades exclaimed, with a sly smile.
From behind, Mirko's voice resonated with the same intensity.
—Not bad for a brat!
Both of them fired their punches.
Mirko, with his right fist, leaned forward and hit Hades squarely in the face.
CRACK!
When Mirko's fist hit Hades's face, his head jerked violently.
The blow resonated in his bones, and for an instant, his vision blurred.
But her smile never disappeared.
Before Mirko could react, he felt a firm pressure on his wrist.
Hades had caught her arm with his left hand, his fingers squeezing tightly.
In a swift movement, he pulled her towards him, bringing their faces close until they were almost touching.
"You fell, bunny..." he whispered in a deep voice, his warm breath brushing Mirko's skin.
Before Mirko could react, he felt something cold and solid pressing against his abdomen.
Hades, with his palm open, had placed his gauntlet right in the center of her stomach.
The air seemed to compress between them.
A void formed and...
BOOM!
A sonic boom erupted.
The impact was not huge, but it was accurate.
The radius of the explosion did not exceed the size of a melon, but the impact hit its core directly.
—Ghahh—!
Mirko was thrown backwards.
His body spun in the air, his head hitting the ground once, twice, three times as he tried to get back up.
The air escaped from his lungs, his vision blurred.
And finally... he fell on his back.
His eyes blank, his breathing shallow.
For a few seconds, everything was silent.
The dust slowly cleared, revealing Mirko lying on the destroyed earth.
But despite everything, her smile was still there.
Small, tired, but full of pure emotion.
"…Fuck," he murmured with a soft sigh. "That was amazing!"
Hades stood, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths.
He ran his tongue over his split lip, tasting the metallic taste of blood.
And then, with a satisfied smile, he said.
—Damn rabbit.
His fist creaked as it closed.
Hades stood, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths. His lip was bleeding, a pulse of stabbing pain vibrated in his abdomen, and his knuckles tingled from the blows he'd exchanged with Mirko.
Mirko, the great heroine, was on the ground, unconscious but with a satisfied smile on her face.
A worthy warrior.
But the moment of glory was short-lived.
Around him, heroes who had been mere spectators of the brutal battle stepped forward, gathering courage.
At first, fear was evident on their faces, but as they remembered their numerical superiority, their confidence returned.
"You'd better surrender, villain," a man in wooden armor spoke, his voice firm. "We're twenty to one."
Hades blinked. His smile disappeared.
-Villain?
His gaze swept over the heroes. There was no doubt on their faces. They truly saw him as a villain.
Something inside him twisted.
Anger bubbled in his chest, his jaw tensed, and his brow furrowed with a tremor of suppressed fury.
"Villain this, villain that!" he roared, his voice raspy from the exertion of the fight. "What's wrong with you, you damned mortals?"
Their cry echoed, but instead of retreating, the heroes stood firm.
"I'll take care of it, Kamui Woods," said a woman with ash-blonde hair, wearing a white, purple, and orange outfit.
—Mountain lady...
Hades felt a shiver of nostalgia run down his spine as his body began to grow.
He wasn't as big as the Titans of old, but… his size was comparable to that of the Cyclops.
The air roared as his giant hand swiftly descended towards him.
Hades smiled.
—Just like old times...
He jumped back twice and crouched down, preparing to move.
Her abdomen burned with pain, her legs trembled with exertion.
The woman tried to pull her hand away when she saw his movement, but Hades was faster. With a powerful surge, he leaped and reached for the back of her palm.
The giant clicked her tongue and raised her other arm, trying to grab him again.
But again, he was faster.
Climbing up his arm was almost instinctive.
His body moved as if the war still ran through his blood. As if this fight were merely an extension of his former glory.
In seconds, it reached his shoulder.
Hades roared a war cry, drawing back his right arm with the intention of striking with all his might.
The woman saw it coming.
He deactivated his Quirk and, in the blink of an eye, his body shrank.
Hades punched the air.
The sudden change in size destabilized him, and before he could react, he began to fall.
The wind whipped his face.
For a second, everything felt blurry.
The pain in his body.
The dizziness of the fall.
The echo of the word "villain" in his head.
And then, the voice of the giant heroine reached him.
—What motivated you to carry out this terrorist attack?
Hades's eyes shot open.
His expression went from confusion to pure anger.
—Terrorist attack? Me?
The pulse of his anger grew to a roar in his chest.
As he descended, his pupils dilated.
The air whistled in his ears, his stomach churned, and the stabbing pain in his abdomen made him grunt through his teeth.
His mind was clouded with confusion and rage. They called him a terrorist, they attacked him for no reason, and now he was falling into the void, his body still weakened by the blows.
But then, he saw her.
Mountain Lady grew back.
Its titanic body loomed before him like a tower, its arms outstretched in an attempt to catch him.
Hades wasn't going to let them catch him that easily.
He gritted his teeth and forced his body to react.
He spread his legs, bracing for impact, and just as his foot touched the heroine's forearm, he flexed his knees sharply.
Pain shot through his body like lightning, but he ignored it.
With a grunt of effort, he pushed off his arm like it was a platform, using the bounce to gain a little more height.
Mountain Lady felt the blow and tried to jerk her arm to knock him off balance, but Hades was already moving.
She used her speed to climb up his forearm, her boots pounding his hardened skin as she propelled herself toward his shoulder.
The heroine growled and brought her other hand out to catch him, but Hades, with a precise leap, launched himself at her collarbone, rolling across her chest.
The heroes on the ground looked on in amazement and horror.
"Stop him before he escapes!" one shouted.
Mountain Lady gritted her teeth and shrank her body suddenly.
But Hades had already anticipated the move.
Just before she returned to her normal size, she took one last leap with all the strength she had left, using it as a springboard.
Air rushed back around him as he shot towards the ground.
But this time, he was in control.
He twisted in the air, adjusted his stance, and landed hard, absorbing the impact with his legs.
His knees trembled.
The burning in her abdomen intensified.
But it didn't fall.
He stood, his chest rising and falling from heavy breathing.
He looked at the heroine with a sly smile.
—It's not that easy to catch me, is it?
Mountain Lady frowned, irritated.
"Why are you attacking?" he asked, hoping to stall. "What are your motives behind all this?"
But Hades just snorted.
And his annoyance only increased.
Suddenly, several wooden vines closed around him with a dry creak.
The makeshift prison of Kamuy Woods loomed like a living cell, the wooden bars hardening with every passing second.
The heroes sighed in relief at seeing him trapped.
"Good work, Kamuy!" the copper-armored man exclaimed, relaxing his posture.
"Don't let your guard down," Kamuy said, frowning, without taking his eyes off the boy inside the cage. "I haven't sensed even a hint of fear from him."
Hades, head bowed, let the silence stretch on.
Her breathing was labored, her abdomen burned, and the throbbing in her head was still throbbing. The pain was unbearable, but she wasn't going to show weakness against those damned mortals.
Slowly, he walked toward the bars, his footsteps echoing in the tense silence.
As their bone and leather covered hands closed around the wood, all the heroes took a step back.
Mountain Lady felt a chill run down her spine.
"They're trying to capture a god…" Hades whispered, his voice trailing each syllable in a dangerous tone.
The air became heavier.
Kamuy Woods gritted his teeth, his vines instinctively tightening, reinforcing the prison.
—It doesn't matter what you say, villain. You're surrounded. There's no escape.
Hades gave a low, dry, mocking laugh.
-Villain?
He looked up, his eyes blazing with a mixture of mockery and fury.
—You have the nerve to call me a terrorist when the first one to attack me was your rabbit wife. Did you expect me to just let you beat me up?
"Stop acting like you're the victim!" the copper-armored hero snarled. "We have no proof that you're innocent."
Hades turned his head slowly towards him, as if he were analyzing him.
-Evidence?
His smile twisted.
—So tell me, mortal… Where is your proof that I am guilty?
The hero opened his mouth, but was left without a response.
"If you truly believe in justice, you should have the decency to investigate before launching pointless attacks," Hades continued, his voice now tinged with deep contempt. "But no… in your ignorance, you decide it's easier to label and eliminate what you don't understand."
Mountain Lady clenched her fists.
—That's not how things work.
Hades raised an eyebrow.
—Oh, no? So what's this?
He gripped the wooden bars tightly.
The vines rustled.
Kamuy Woods felt a pang of alert.
"Don't push yourself," he said firmly. "It's wood hardened by my Quirk. You won't be able to break it."
Hades smiled.
—Oh… really?
The heroes felt a chill.
The boy's aura changed.
The temperature seemed to drop slightly.
The heroes thought he didn't have enough strength to even move the bars,
And then, a hollow, ominous sound echoed in the cage.
Hades's gloved hand clamped down on the wooden bars. His bones creaked under the pressure of his own grip, but he didn't care.
His arm was burning, every muscle screaming in protest at the tremendous effort he was making. His knuckles turned white.
And then, a hollow, ominous sound was heard.
Crack!
The heroes opened their eyes wide.
Kamuy Woods, confident until a second ago, felt a chill.
-It just can't be…
The hardened wooden bars, as strong as steel, began to give way under the boy's tremendous strength.
CRACK!
Another breaking sound and suddenly the cell shattered.
Splinters flew in all directions as Hades took a step forward, his body shaking with exhaustion, but his gaze still filled with fury.
"They're calling me a terrorist?" he rasped. "They're calling me a villain? I'm a...!"
He was about to continue speaking when, suddenly, a thunderous sound disoriented him.
It wasn't an explosion.
It was the impact of something colossal against the asphalt.
The ground shook.
And from the cloud of dust and debris, a voice echoed loudly.
—Hahaha! Don't worry, citizens and heroic comrades, why?
The smoke cleared.
And there, standing in all his glory, was he.
—Because I'm here!
The heroes sighed in relief at seeing him.
"All Might's here!" Mountain Lady exclaimed with a smile of renewed confidence.
Hades narrowed his eyes, feeling a pang of disbelief.
-What the devil…?
—Surrender now, villain. —All Might's voice sounded firm, but there was something in his tone… something forced.
Hades, panting, felt his anger rising again.
—I… am not a vile and disgusting villain! I am a god!
His voice came out hoarse, laden with frustration.
Her legs were shaking, her breathing was erratic, and every fiber in her body was begging her to stop.
But I wouldn't.
He leaned forward slightly, adjusting his posture…
And he ran.
—I'm tired of being called that, you damned mortals!
His fist retracted, ready to hit with everything he had.
But All Might was faster.
With devastating precision, he threw a punch into the air.
But it was no ordinary blow.
The air around him exploded in a brutal shock wave.
BOOOOM!
The invisible force hit Hades's body before he could even react.
His vision blurred.
His body rose uncontrollably, thrown backward with terrifying violence.
CRASH!
It crashed into a building across the street.
The wall cracked.
And then, with a deafening crash, it collapsed on top of him.
The debris piled up, burying his body under chunks of concrete.
Silence fell over the scene.
Mountain Lady gulped.
Kamuy Woods still couldn't process what he had just seen.
"…Did we win?" one of the heroes whispered.
All Might didn't respond.
He stared at the rubble for a moment longer, his expression serious.
Then, his time ran out.
He had to leave before anyone noticed his weakness.
With one last look at the heroes, he gave a small nod and quickly walked away from the scene.
The dust was still floating in the air when the first drop of Hades's blood soaked the concrete.
[Several hours later: Hades' Mind]
[POV: Hades.]
I feel tired...
I feel a stabbing pain in my chest that won't let me rest.
I try to breathe, but I can't.
Something... He's holding me tightly like I'm nothing more than a simple linen doll.
He tried to open his eyes, he tried but he couldn't.
I just feel like a huge hand is squeezing me.
I feel dizzy, I feel lightheaded.
With great effort, I open my eyes, my vision was blurry, but I could see, I could appreciate a mocking smile from a black entity.
His mocking smile froze me completely, I didn't know what he was or who he was.
I could only watch as his macabre smile opened its phases.
And a macabre voice emerged.
"Hello... Hades," the macabre being spoke as he lightened his grip.
With the new breath of air in my lungs, I was able to calm my nerves.
"Who... are you?" I asked softly as my bruised lungs slowly recovered.
But the entity did not respond to me.
And smiling sadistically he spoke.
—Enjoy... your new life.
The entity spoke, disappearing completely.
I fell, I fell into the infinite abyss.
And then, I woke up.
What I could see was a white roof unrecognizable to me.
A pure white ceiling loomed before my weary eyes.
My head hurt, my body hurt.
The memory of the entity slowly fades from my consciousness as I briefly look around.
And with that, I was able to see, I was able to see several machines that were unknown to me.
Some wires connected directly to my chest.
And a kind of translucent tube connected to my right wrist.
I followed the path of the tube and looked up, and with that I could see a strange bag with some clear liquid inside it.
I squinted and tried to remember what had happened, when I tried to remember the dark entity, my head started to hurt, causing me to sit up in bed.
It was strange, I felt more tired than ever, holding my head with my left hand, I tried to calm the headache.
I closed my eyes tightly in pain, the pain was coming from my right wrist where that kind of tube was connected.
I tried to pull out the small clear tube, but a small hand grabbed me tightly by my left arm.
I frowned at such disrespect, and looking to my side, I could see a mortal Anicana, who was wearing some kind of white coat.
And, upon making eye contact, the woman spoke.
—You need to calm down, brat. You just woke up after 3 days and you need to rest.
The woman spoke firmly, and raising an eyebrow questioningly, I wanted to ask what she meant.
But the death that was on one side of the room opened almost suddenly.
And from it, emerged the same yellow-haired mortal who hit me hard before losing consciousness.
We both stared at each other for a few moments, moments which the old mortal took advantage of.
And with quick movements unbecoming of a mortal of his age, he threw me back suddenly onto the bed.
The surprise caused by the woman's actions left me slightly dismayed, and I was unable to offer any resistance.
The blond-haired man came even closer and staring at me spoke.
"Hello, young man," the man began, crossing his arms.
"I'd like to ask... Why did you commit a terrorist attack?" the man continued, making one of my eyebrows raise.
"Terrorism? Don't talk nonsense. A God like me would never do something as disgusting as that!" I replied, but the old woman hit me on the forehead with what looked like a cane. "How dare you, old woman!" I retorted, but once again, I received a blow to the head.
I became enraged and wanted to scream once more, but the yellow-haired man spoke once more.
—So why were you in the area where the bomb detonated? Also, according to the heroine Mirko's statement, your appearance and clothing were completely intact.
Deciding to ignore the old woman's disrespect, I stared into the hollow eyes of the man in front of me.
"I just don't know. All I remember is waking up and finding myself in a crater," I replied with a frown as I tried to remember if this body held any residual memories.
But all I could remember was this mortal sleeping on a bridge.
The man grunted slightly at my answer, and asked again.
—If that's so, then why did you attack the heroes there?
I rolled my eyes and a vein popped out on my forehead from the slight anger I had inside me, remembering such disrespect from mere mortals.
"I just hit back, that mortal with bunny ears kicked me the moment she saw me," I answered as calmly as I could.
The man placed one of his hands on his chin and nodded.
"So, tell me your name, since it's not listed in the system, and there are no records of your birth in Japan or anywhere else on the planet," the man asked with pleasant curiosity, since in the previous days, he had been involved in several meetings with the director of the academy.
And, at those meetings, believing the boy was an illegal alien, he had to make a couple of calls to find the teenager's place of origin.
But they found nothing.
At the question, I was slightly offended, How is it possible that they don't know a deity like me?
—My name is Hades, God of the Underworld, and... You damned mortals should have more respect for me!
"I... I see," the man replied, lowering his tone.
And at his response, I was slightly annoyed.
"Did this foolish mortal think I was crazy? This is outrageous!" I thought to myself, as I felt the older woman using a small metal plate on my chest.
"So, where are you from?" the man replied, making slight hand signals to a wall to one side.
And before that, I thought.
—I'm sure no one will believe me if I tell them I'm from hell...
"I live next to a bridge," I replied curtly and saw the man putting one of his fingers to his ear.
The man nodded and looked at me intently.
The man said nothing more and just crossed his arms.
I wanted to speak, but I heard the door open once again.
And from it, appeared a mortal man wearing a leather vest and a strange hat.
But the strangest thing was a little mouse sitting on his right shoulder.
"You've told the truth about everything, except your identity," the mortal in the vest began as he stood next to the blond.
I raised my eyebrow in confusion.
"What do you mean, mortal?" I asked curtly, only to receive another blow to the head from the old woman.
This was bothering me, but I couldn't do anything as my body felt slightly numb.
—Now, it's harmless, I gave him a small sedative that will leave him unable to move for a few minutes —the woman clarified just to move away from my current location.
This feeling was strange, it was like having all my limbs completely numb.
"Please, young man, could you give us your name?" the mouse spoke to the man in the vest.
And opening my eyes, I wondered if I had really spoken, or if I was actually going crazy.
But still, I answered.
—I am Hades
My answer led to a nod from the mortal in a vest.
"That's true," the man commented, just to my dismay.
And I raised an eyebrow in question, only to receive an answer from the same mortal.
"My name is Naomasa Tsukauchi, and my quirk allows me to detect lies," the man stated, generating another doubt.
—What is a quirk?
Everyone present looked at Tsukauchi who looked confused and slightly stunned by the question.
I mean, who doesn't know what a quirk is?
"You don't know... What's a quirk?" Naomasa asked.
-No
Naomasa, sighing deeply, spoke.
—He... He's telling the truth, he doesn't know it's a quirk.
Everyone present opened their eyes and was confused by this.
But, wanting to know more, Naomasa asked.
—Do you have a parent or someone who looks after you?
I closed my eyes, I closed them in an attempt to remember, but my body, I had no idea what had happened.
—No, I don't know who my parents are, besides, I've lived on the streets since I can remember.
I closed my eyes once more, and remembered everything I could.
This boy had no family, no education, and earned his living on the streets, rummaging through garbage and looking for mushrooms in a forest near the bridge where he slept.
I felt sorry, I felt completely sorry for this boy who died in the middle of an explosion.
His life was certainly cruel, but still, he had many dreams.
I sighed deeply as I remembered the last seconds of the boy's life.
Tsukauchi nodded at my answer, indicating that he had confirmed the truth of my words.
—Okay... Hades, so, have you been to any school or something?
I denied his question almost immediately, but in doing so, I remembered a dream this body had.
One of the many dreams this boy had.
—But still, the dream... My dream, is to attend a hero academy
"Do you want to join the UA?" the little mouse asked, and at that, I nodded.
The room fell completely silent.
—Okay... Hades-san, then, we'll run a few tests on you before deciding whether to add you to the academy's entrance exam —the little mouse replied to the disbelief of everyone present.
I was going to refuse, but something took control of my actions.
My consciousness became distant and something else took control.
—Thank you for the opportunity, Mr. Mouse?
The little mouse burst out laughing at my answer.
—Hahaha, you can call me Director Nezu —he replied
I nodded against my will.
My body began to move and sitting up in bed, something that wasn't me answered.
—So... When do we start?
TO BE CONTINUED.
