Luis of course wrote the number 293,874 on his paper. He even wrote it very neatly so that none of the numbers looked the same as another number even though all numbers are basically detected by the advanced computer system.
He just wanted the dealer to be unable to make an excuse that he wrote another number.
When the machine showed the dice, the total number was immediately written on the screen.
(293.874)
Enzo memorized the number so well that his eyes shone brightly.
He then looked at his paper again, making sure the numbers were the same and it was indeed exactly the same, no difference at all.
Xiu!
Suddenly there was a spotlight aimed at him, startling the people around.
"What happened?" They wondered.
The spotlight itself recorded his paper and displayed it on the screen so that it clearly showed the numbers he had written, the exact same numbers that the dice had released.
There was an instant silence, including Thomas and the others.
Those playing elsewhere, whether they were playing poker or slots, stared at Luis.
As people quieted down, the dealer behind the table was so wide-eyed that he almost rubbed his own eyes.
"Congratulations to you for winning the one hundred thousand dice game!" Suddenly from all the speakers in the casino echoed congratulations for Luis as the casino's biggest screen showed his figure.
Some people staggered at the sight because of their surprise.
Milo who hated Luis was even trembling uncontrollably.
On the other hand, Luis actually felt calm, which he took advantage of to pretend as if he was at a loss as to how to react.
Of course, he felt calm because as far as he had read, Abbys Den had the best reputation among all the casino chains in the Flying Star Empire.
They always hand over payouts to their players no matter how much they win.
Furthermore, there was no record of their players having experienced any problems from the casino after receiving their rewards.
If they do get into trouble, it's only from other people.
Although it couldn't be said that the people behind this casino were good people, at least they were doing business in an honest way.
When the situation calmed down, he looked at the dealer, then asked, "did I win? How do I take my prize?"
He asked in such an innocent tone that it seemed like all of this was a coincidence that he didn't know either.
The dealer had to clear his throat first, then replied, "you can choose, what do you want?"
Everyone's gazes fell on Luis' face at that, wanting to know what he wanted.
Weapons, artifacts, or resources?
Some people even gave him a sharp look, like a hunter spotting prey.
How could Luis not know that there would be many people eyeing him. No matter what he chose, it was something of high value to the Awakeners at Level E+ and beyond.
"I'm a Level E Awakener, so I want materials to build a Power Core," Luis replied.
The thing he wanted instantly made the other Level E Awakeners start to get nervous.
Many of them still lacked materials. Luis' wish naturally made it difficult for them to control their greed.
Meanwhile, the dealer nodded.
"Follow me to the manager's office," he said as he signaled him to follow him.
He went to the door at the back. It was certainly not an exit, but a door that separated this building into two rooms and the back room was used as an office.
Luis wasn't worried about going in there.
What he found after passing through that door were dozens or maybe even a hundred more monitors taped to the walls, showing scenes in the casino.
It looked like there were no CCTVs, but there were so many.
Men in black suits with fierce-looking expressions watched the monitors at all times.
They were Velos residents, but they were probably the kind who had already pledged their allegiance to some big boss from the empire.
Luis also saw quite a few programmers at work.
The office was separated into several areas by black glass partitions that did not reach the ceiling but stood upright on the floor.
Everyone in the office instantly looked at Luis.
At the same time, he saw a middle-aged woman with short bright blonde hair come out of the largest cubicle in the office.
She was wearing long pants and a professional black suit.
Luis even saw her name hanging on her chest, (Mrs. Tara) with the title of manager.
It seemed that she was the highest leader in this casino.
Her body was tall and she was quite beautiful. However, her face actually had some scratch scars that looked unremovable.
Luis' instincts told him that she was an Awakener who probably had a lot of combat experience.
The dealer led him to the woman who then sat on the sofa, waiting for him to arrive.
Once they got there, the dealer said to Luis, "please sit down!"
Luis did not sit down immediately, but looked at the manager first who gave him a slight nod.
Only then did he sit down in front of her.
He was handed a cup of coffee by an assistant.
"Have a drink if you feel thirsty, no need to feel too tense here," the manager said to Luis.
Her tone was stiff, but she seemed to be trying to be friendly.
Luis constantly pretended that he had fallen into an unexpected situation that he didn't understand.
He nodded and drank the coffee, sure it was fine because if this casino wanted him dead, only the manager could probably kill him with one small gesture.
"Thank you, Mrs. Tara," he said.
"First, congratulations on your win, you were the first to win the hundred thousand dice table at Abyys Den branch Velos 33," the manager said to Luis' surprise.
"From the looks of it, your win was purely by chance, but it's amazing, isn't it, that you happened to guess the number that came out of the five five hundred thousand numbers. Cases like this are really rare," she continued.
Luis could only stay silent at that, wondering what exactly this manager was trying to say.
Luis felt like she didn't just want to talk. Or perhaps she was thinking about whether he had a special trick up his sleeve.
Feigning innocence, he just nodded his head.
After that, Mrs. Tara placed a ring on the table.
It was not just a ring, but a Dimensional Artifact.
"You can see, it's your reward. Five sets of materials to build a Tier 2 Power Core, consisting of materials with the elements of fire, water, wind, lightning, and earth. This Dimensional Artifact is not part of your reward, but it will be an added bonus from us," she said after putting down the ring.
She made a motion for him to take it.
Luis hadn't expected things to be so simple. He won and then he got the prize.
With slow movements, he picked up the ring.
When it came into contact with his hand, he could immediately peer into the dimension hidden inside the ring.
It was not so vast, yet it contained many materials including many Monster Cores.
"I know you don't have a Spirit. As a local, even if you had a full complement of materials, it would still be difficult for you to build a Power Core. Who knows if you can store those materials until you can build your Power Core." The manager added so Luis stiffened.
Of course, this case did not really apply to him. He, however, already had a good plan to build his Power Core.
The manager actually didn't need to say that because anyone with a bit of intelligence would understand, but she said it, Luis wondered if she wanted to help him.
However, he felt it was ridiculous so he wanted to shake his head.
If she helped him, that was too good.
It wasn't that he would cancel his plan of stealing the Power Core building tool at the imperial school, but he felt, it was much more if he did it after he had the Power Core.
This would make it so that no suspicion would arise towards him.
Unfortunately, that was just his hope.
How could an imperial resident help a local who didn't even have a Spirit.
However, the manager suddenly put down a business card.
"This person can help you build a Power Core with low requirements. You can say that you were recommended by me," she said.
