Khi was born into quiet chaos. His father, Dr. Elijah Amari, was a respected theoretical physicist, and his mother Ayana Amari, a gifted pianist and former social worker Khi was the glue. The one who held the cracks with his sheer will and quiet resilience. After school, while most kids were out playing, Khi was picking up his brother Ty from daycare, helping his sister Layla with her math homework, and trying to help his youngest brother Amari from slipping into the same anger that controlled his father. He didn't talk much. But he listened and felt everything. To deal with the pressure, Khi turned inward. Spending hours drawing, pages filled with twisted shadows and sharp-edged figures. He wasn't just good; he was brilliant His sketches weren't just images. They were feelings carved with frustration, fear, and loneliness. The art teacher called him "a storm in silence". Khi also loved music— mostly old vinyl he'd find at flea markets or left in crates outside closed-down shops. Jazz, ambient, and lo-fi beats. Things that matched the rhythm of his thoughts. At night, after the house finally quieted, Khi would sit by the window with headphones on, sketchpad in hand, watching the city light flicker. From the outside, they were a family of brilliance, education, art, and structure. But inside the fractures ran deep. Elijah was obsessed with his work. He believed in unseen forces, energy flows, and dimensions. He was brilliant but volatile. Paranoia gnawed at him, especially as he suspected someone was watching his research. He would rant late at night about" them" about a group trying to steal his breakthroughs. Ayana tried to ground him, to protect the kids. Their home was full of silence. The kind that screamed. Khi, the eldest of four, felt it the most. He became their shadow. Protecting his younger sibling when their parents argued or when his father disappeared for days looking for "answers" He never told anyone but Khi has seen Elijah with strangers in suits. Very quiet conversations that stopped when Khi entered the room. When his father was out of the picture when he vanished entirely, the story was that he'd gone rogue. But the truth was far more complicated. The syndicate had approached him, offered funding, and resources… and then absorbed him completely. When he tried to pull away, they framed him. Fabricated evidence, doctored files. He was labeled a traitor to his own field and imprisoned without trial in a black site for rouge scientists. Ayana, once fiery and proud, was crushed. She withdrew from everything, consumed by grief and fear. She was blackmailed by syndicate operatives— told to stay silent, or her children would be taken. Her music fell silent. Her health declined. Khi was just thirteen when he became the caretaker of his family. Then the Syndicate took his siblings. Two boys and a little. Snatched in the middle of the night by "child protective services." Khi never found out where they were taken. They left behind only silence and a fractured mother who could not look at her Son without her breaking. Khi was unstable. Broken. He vanished. Khi went underground emotionally, spiritually, and socially. A ghost with a pulse.
