After suddenly hearing the confession, Gray thought, " Holy! This is too sudden, what should I do? I really want to say yesss, but... " Finally he answered, "I'm sorry but can you please give me a day to think about it? I want to gather my thoughts", with that, Aerith quickly hands off him,with a clear visible blush on her face, they stood there silently for a moment, lost of words and after a few more, they goes to home, not speaking a word on their way.
Upon reaching home, Gray lies to his bed, thinking to himself, "It's only been 2 days since I've been reincarnated and I'm already getting a girlfriend?" Gray could blush just by thinking about Aerith, then the intrusive thought run, "Now that I think about it, why and how could I have reincarnated, plus it should only be my soul that got transfered, so I should be in a bad shape when I was transported", after a deep think, he was tired after the day, " Well, from tomorrow I should train in swordsmanship " and with that he quicklu fall asleep.
Not long he had close his eyes, he was woken up by some strange noises. He went outside to see what was causing the commotion. As soon as he opened the door, he saw otherworldly monstere. They were tall figures with long hands with claws as big as a child, their eyes we're hollow, they seems to completely rely on their hearing to detect prey, there were spinks on their back and walk on two legs, their teeths as sharp as a blade, thier fur was brown and had pointed ears, these creatures were beyond ugly and terrifying for Gray.
Gray was standing there shocked, but a man rushed to him, "Gray, you go and quickly get the knight that went on expedition, we'll somehow hold them back but you, you are still recovering so you'll only drag us downso it's better for you to go and get them, we'll protect the children and womens", Gray was scared and shocked, "But... " He said trembling, he was scared, it was his first encounter with monsters of this world, the man shouted at him, "Gray! This is no time for playing hero, quickly go and get them! ", Gray was scared but after gathering some courage he nod, the man left to fight against the 3 monsters while Gray went back inside to get his weapon.
Gray with his sword on it's sheath runs towards where the kinghts were headed,it was full moon so the moon was shining his road, while running he think to himself, "Fuck!! Am I that pathetic? If only I had combat experience, I'd be able to at least be of help", his panic and replace by a sense of guilt, while running the only one on his mind was Aerith, " Aerith, please be safe, I promised I'll say yes tomorrow so please be safe", and with Aerith as her motivation, he sped up.
After not too long he found a cave, upon going near the cave he felt a strange feeling, he thought to himself, "Is this the so called mana? This feels strange, I wish I could know more", but he knew it was not time to be amazed on something like mana.
Gray take his sword out from it's sheath, he held it up and enters the cave, after about 14 steps, it was already dark with no source of light but Gray kept going forward. After some more steps, he saw a faint light, the moment he was the light, Gray was filled with a sense of hope and joy, quickly rushing but carefully approaching the light in his mind all he think was that the village might be saved. But he was wrong.
