Dai Mubai carried the swollen and bruised Ma Hongjun back to the dormitory.
Oscar frowned when he saw Ma Hongjun's battered face.
"What the hell happened this morning? Tang San's face is bruised, Ma Hongjun's also beaten to a pulp. Our dorm is a disaster zone!"
"..."
When Dai Mubai spotted Tang San sitting on the bed in the distance, happily munching on a sausage, he dry-heaved.
"Little Ao, give this pig-headed brat some sausages. He actually dared to flirt with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong! Got his ass handed to him!"
"This guy's lust is really out of control. He even dared to hit on Xiao Wu, who's a Soul Exalt? He deserved that beating!"
Oscar was shocked and quickly responded:
"Your father's got a big sausage, and a small one too!"
A yellow light flashed at his feet, and two soul rings lit up. A golden glow shone in his hands as a large and a small sausage appeared, which he placed on the nightstand beside Ma Hongjun's bed.
Dai Mubai also untied the rope binding Ma Hongjun and, seeing he had stopped self-harming, finally sighed in relief and turned to leave:
"Let's go grab some breakfast! We'll explain the situation on the way."
"Alright!" Oscar nodded. He was itching to see Ning Rongrong—felt like it'd been years since last night.
Soon, they arrived at the dining hall, where three beautiful girls were gathered around Zhang Fan, chatting and laughing.
Dai Mubai and Oscar walked over.
Oscar was so mesmerized by Ning Rongrong's beauty he froze on the spot.
Dai Mubai, on the other hand, gave Zhu Zhuqing a long look before heading to the next table with Oscar after grabbing their food.
"That Ma Hongjun pervert does have a reason for being that way!"
While eating, Dai Mubai spoke to Zhang Fan and the three girls.
"Yeah, his martial spirit is the Evil Fire Phoenix—it mutated from a chicken. He's got evil fire that's hard to suppress, so his desires are stronger than normal… needs a woman to, uh, cool off. That's why Cuihua couldn't take it anymore."
Oscar chimed in mid-bite:
"Their village all had chicken-type martial spirits. Only he mutated into the Evil Fire Phoenix. Its flame is crazy hot, almost impossible to extinguish. That evil fire builds up non-stop…"
"So, I hope you can be a bit understanding."
Dai Mubai awkwardly looked at Zhu Zhuqing and the others.
"I see."
Xiao Wu nodded:
"Now that we've talked it through, let's just leave it at that."
"Yeah, he was punished enough anyway."
Ning Rongrong also nodded, agreeing with Xiao Wu.
Zhu Zhuqing said nothing and quietly continued eating.
"Thank you so much!" Dai Mubai smiled.
"By the way, there are some school rules you should know!" Zhang Fan said calmly.
"The rules are simple: no pillaging, fighting is encouraged, and no gambling."
Dai Mubai explained:
**"Combat is the fastest way to get stronger. Only through constant actual fighting can strength improve.
As for class schedules, they're arranged by the teachers and aren't fixed.
Tuition's a hundred gold soul coins a year—not a problem for Soul Grandmasters or Soul Exalts like you."**
They soon finished breakfast and gathered on the lawn.
Flander descended from the sky, landing in front of them. His raspy voice rang out:
**"This year's great. We've got five new little freaks. Especially Tang San and Xiao Wu—freaks among freaks. And Zhang Fan… he's a monster among monsters.
Our teaching is tailored to the individual. Support-type soul masters must first train their physical strength to survive on the battlefield.
Oscar and Ning Rongrong, go run twenty laps. The rest of you, rest for now. We'll head to Soto City before dusk."**
"Ugh…"
Ning Rongrong was speechless when she heard that:
"Can I not run?"
"Of course. Just quit Shrek Academy, and you won't have to run."
Flander smiled as he adjusted his black-rimmed glasses.
"Good luck!"
Oscar ran off right away. He was used to running.
"Hmph…"
Ning Rongrong rolled her eyes but had no choice and followed.
"Ding! Story modification mission triggered."
[Tang San pulled a letter from his cucumber-shaped storage soul tool and handed it to Flander.] You may modify two characters.
Zhang Fan didn't expect even this would trigger a mission.
He immediately activated his thoughts and added the word "duel" into the middle of the letter.
"Ding! Story modification successful. Reward: 60 modification points."
Tang San pulled a duel letter from his cucumber-shaped storage soul tool and handed it to Flander.
Flander was startled when he saw the name on the letter:
"You're the master's student?"
"Yes!" Tang San nodded.
"The master wants to… duel me?"
Flander froze upon seeing the three characters after the master's name.
"Uh… I have no idea!"
Tang San shook his head, confused. After all, his godmother was only at level 29, while the dean was way stronger.
How could she possibly dare to challenge the dean to a duel?
It didn't make sense.
Was godmother looking to get beaten up?
The thought made his feelings complicated.
Flander opened the letter and read the contents:
"Beat me, and I'll call you Big Brother!"
"What the hell is this?!"
Flander was utterly speechless. What the hell had Yu Xiaogang been smoking?
How could he dare challenge me?
A duel between level 29 and level 78? That's just asking for a beating!
And if he wins, I become his big brother? Has Yu Xiaogang gone mad?!
"Are you sure the letter wasn't swapped?"
Flander figured that after so many years apart, Yu Xiaogang would write something about their past, future, or about Tang San.
He never expected it to be a duel challenge.
"Nope, it's always been in the cucumber-shaped storage tool Master gave me!"
Tang San shook his head.
"That storage tool of yours looks… quite unique."
Flander eyed the cucumber hanging from Tang San's waist with a strange expression, then said:
"Go back and cultivate. Meet up before dusk."
"Got it!" Tang San nodded and left.
Flander looked at the duel letter, his face darkening slightly. Back when the Golden Iron Triangle was still a thing, he always yielded to Yu Xiaogang.
He had even given him a chance with Liu Erlong.
But who would've thought Liu Erlong was Yu Xiaogang's cousin? And Yu Xiaogang, being the man, chose to run away—leaving Liu Erlong, a woman, to face everything alone.
Flander had always felt disappointed and resentful toward Yu Xiaogang.
Now that Yu Xiaogang dared to write a duel challenge like this…
Don't blame me for not holding back when we fight.
This letter had created a crack between them.
…
"How many laps left?"
Ning Rongrong saw Oscar running past her again. Just a moment ago, she was confident, but now she was completely out of breath—especially without using soul power.
She had never trained like this before.
"This task is impossible for you. But…"
"If you eat my sausage, you can totally push through!"
Oscar said confidently, a wicked smile on his face:
**"Your daddy's got a big sausage! It restores stamina.
Eat it, and forget twenty laps—you could run three hundred!"**
"Ugh…"
Ning Rongrong felt nauseous looking at Oscar's pervy face and that sausage:
"No way in hell I'm eating that!"
She immediately dashed forward to get away from him.
