[1984]
Siting in his room a now six-year old Michael had his nose and eyes face first in a biology book.
For after reading his fill in regards to physics last year he decided to focus on biology and chemistry for this one. He would then focus on a different subjects until he felt he of age his parents would reasonably allow him to attend college.
Though Michael predicted that wouldn't happen at least until his mid-teens.
Since despite his advanced intellect he knew his parents were slightly overprotective and likely didn't want anyone to take advantage of him due to his gifts.
Which Michael appreciated.
That's why he decided not to push the matter. For right now he didn't feel it necessary to do so.
Unless of course something forced his hand.
But he hoped such an event would not take place.
...
'Please tell me I did not just jinx myself.' Michael thought.
As he did his father slowly pushed open the door to his room. "Michael are you ready to go?" He asked.
"Yes dad." Michael replied.
He then closed the book he was reading and stood up, using his hands to straighten out any creases he had gotten in his clothing. To make sure he still looked presentable.
Since his parents had put in a good amount of effort to dress him up.
Why you ask?
Well they were heading out to a communal barbecue to welcome a new family to their neighborhood.
Which didn't happen quite often.
That's why when it did everyone in the town where Michael lived, which was Delacroix, Louisiana, came out to welcome the newcomers.
After making sure his clothes were still pristine Michael walked over to his father.
They then left his room and joined up with his mother and Aaron. The family then left their house and began walking towards the destination of the barbecue, arriving a short time later.
When they did the party was in full swing.
People were eating, laughing, and dancing to the music being played. The entire mood was festive.
Enjoying the ambience of the entire party Michael moved around it with his family, as they greeted their neighbors, until eventually they moved to greet the ones who had just moved to Delacroix.
As Michael and his family approached their new neighbors he noticed one of the three children looked his age, and his faced seemed quite familiar.
Though Michael couldn't exactly place it.
As he thought about why this was he and his family reached the new one.
"Welcome to the neighborhood. Names Marcus Holt, and this is my lovely wife Abigail and our boys Aaron and Michael." Marcus introduced his family. Shaking the hand of the other man in front of him briefly.
"Thanks for that." The man replied. "The names Paul Wilson, and this here is my wife Darlene." The man spoke.
When he did it began setting off alarm bells in Michael's head. Though outwardly he didn't react.
"And these three little tykes you see in front of us are our own bundles of joy. My oldest is named Samuel. Followed by our little girl Sarah, and then our youngest Gideon. Say hello to the new neighbors kids." Paul spoke, after introducing his children.
"Hello sir." Gideon spoke.
"Yes, hello." Sarah added.
"Nice to meet you all." Samuel said.
"Why thank you all." Abigail spoke to the Wilson children.
Though Michael didn't really pay any attention to his mother's words.
Instead he was focused on the fact on why the face of the oldest Wilson child looked so familiar to him.
Because he was none other than the future superhero, and member of the Avengers, Falcon/Captain America.

Who looked like a child version of Anthony Mackie, his actor from the films.
Letting Michael know he was not making a mistake in regards to Sam's identity.
Leading him to begin running through the possible implications of their meeting at this young age. Not to mention the fact his brother Gideon exists.
For as an avid comic fan in his previous life Michael is sure Gideon was never mentioned in the MCU and only existed in the mainstream Earth-616 comics. Yet here he is, standing right in front of him.
Leading Michael to wonder if that had any further implications regarding the world at large.
Like if other characters from mainstream marvel existed in this universe he now called home. Or if characters in this universe were more closely related to their mainstream comic counterparts.
If either of those was the case then Michael would seriously need to re-evaluate his plans for the future.
Especially if the likes of Magneto, Apocalypse, or worse yet someone along the likes of Thanos, were closer to their comic book counterparts than their film counterparts.
'No, calm down.' Michael thought to himself. 'You truly haven't had a chance to get a good look at this world yet. You don't know anything for sure. So calm down, take a breathe, and take it one step at a time.' He told himself.
As he did Sam walked up to him and extended his left hand. "Hey." He said.
When he did Michael was knocked out of his mental musings. "Ah, hey." He replied. "I'm Michael."
"Yeah, I know." Sam spoke. "I'm Samuel. But most people just call me Sam. You also can if you want."
"Thanks. I'll take you up on that offer then." Michael replied. "So, want to go play?"
"Sure." Sam said.
After which the two of them headed off to join the other kids and play around.
Followed by their siblings in the process.
As they did this Sam and his siblings quickly realized Michael was much much smarter than all of them put together. They also realized he was generally nice. Making it easier to relate to him.
Sam in particular began talking to Michael any chance he got.
Michael having no issues with it.
For after all he knew it wouldn't hurt to make friends with a future hero.
Especially of even a third of what he suspected was true about the world they lived in.
***
A/N: Surprise, Samuel Wilson everyone. Yeah, I decided to make him a friend of Michael's in childhood. Which will play a very important part in the story moving forward. Because he seriously meant it when he said having a future hero for a friend couldn't hurt. At least a potential one.
Also I'm not going to turn this into a mainstream Marvel story. It's mostly MCU like I said in the story synopsis. Just with a few additions.
Stay tuned for more in regards to that matter.
