Shadow's pov.
It's getting harder to stay away from her and not talk to her. She lay on her bed she looks so sad and tired. I wounder what is going on with her why is she so sad. Is it because she is in so much pain. This room is filled with the sickly sweat scent of pain. I normally love this scent but not from her not because some disease of a beast thought it was fun to torture a human female. It is forbidden to harm humans unless you are in danger yourself even us vampires are forbidden to feed from unwilling humans. We have to go to bar's designed for this or we can go looking for rogues. There is even the list that gets posted for permitted hunting of dangerous humans that their government needs help with. They are normally the worst of the worst to hunt them you need to get their full confession and assets before your meal it's more about the hunt than the meal. I'm surprised that they didn't tell her what he was after he attacked her. I wounder why Dan didn't it would have made protecting her much easier. We wouldn't need to hide who we are I wouldn't need to hide from her. I wish I could be sitting with her talking about anything and everything even nothing at all would be fine. But for the first time in my life I don't want to be in the shadows. I've been hiding since the day I was born being a hybrid isn't exactly acceptable. I don't know who my father is my mother died when I was to young to know her. I was sent to the vampires to be taken care of but even then I was shunned by all for being me. Except for him he promised to protect me from them and myself as my wolf started to go rogue after I was abandoned by the pack. We formed a blood pact to settle my wolf side thankfully. I knew the moment I met her well when I got her scent I knew she was my mate. It's funny how the other's didn't realise just righting it off as attraction the fools. I don't mind if she is human or something else. I'm just over the moon happy to have a mate and a beautiful one at that. But will she accept me as I am after everything she's been thru will she be scared of me when she sees my other form. I'm not exactly like the rest and my affinity for shadow magic sets me apart from most. She starts to move and moans in pain as she tries to get up. I wish I could help her. She gets up and just sits on the edge of the bed taking deep breaths. I can practically feel her pain as she gets up making her way to the bathroom. She sways trying to stay upright but fails falling to the floor. I go to help but remember I'm not to show myself yet so I quickly jump into Henry's shadow.
" She needs your help she's fallen trying to get to the bathroom. I don't know if she's hurt herself her pain is to high to tell if" I tell him quickly he disappears. I follow in the shadows she's still on the floor but she's crying now my heart can't handle this. I will kill him they call me a monster but even when I lost my control I never hurt females like that. I watch as Henry picks her up and takes her to the bathroom they don't speak. He leaves the bathroom for a few minutes giving her privacy and waits for her to finish.
" She's okay" he whispered to me finally letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
He brings her back out putting her back in bed taking out a bell from the bedside table.
" please use this if you need me I don't want to find you in this state again you nearly gave me a heart attack." he tells her slipping it onto the bed.
" can you please bring me my laptop or tablet please. I don't want to sleep anymore I didn't have a chance to set up this room for bad days. " she says quietly looking out to window.
" not a problem if there's anything else you want don't hesitate to ask it's why you hired me " he tells her.
" you know I didn't Dan made me hire people. I hate people seeing me like this " she whispers I bet she doesn't know we can hear her.
" I will be back soon and I will bring you some tea" he says before he steps out. I follow him down to the kitchen.
" why didn't you hear her fall" I ask him confused.
" I was so lost in my head." he says with a sigh.
" if it wasn't for me who knows how long she would have lay there" I growl at him in anger.
" I know thank you maybe you can help me with keeping an eye on her when I can't be with her." he asks with a pained voice.
" you know I will she is my MATE to and once she accepts me our pact will be over remember." I tell him annoyed.
" yeah I remember thank you. I don't know what is up with me. " he tells me.
He finishes her tea with sandwichs and cake taking them up to her.
