- The Light in the Darkness -

🐾────── 🐺 ──────🐾

Somewhere far away, beyond the limits of time and memory, there lies an end—a dark place known as Letárnia, or the Shadowed Édris. There, all that was once forgotten finds its final rest: people, memories, entire universes, even whole worlds, swallowed by the Forgotten. That shadowed realm is marked by desolation, where souls wander, trapped in lucid and tormenting dreams, longing for just one thing: the end of pain, and the rebirth of new hope.

And then, something unlikely happened.

A light emerged in Letárnia, bright enough to defy the darkness.

That light, powerful and unexpected, stirred a sense of danger within the Forgotten.

But before it could be consumed, the light vanished—leaving only a whisper of promise:

A new beginning awaited, somewhere.

Far from there, in a world much like our own—devastated by human greed and violence—one soul still carried a spark of kindness. The light found its way to him: a lonely boy, the last ember of hope in a collapsing world.

When the light touched his spirit, the boy awoke, as if torn from a deep sleep.

He rose slowly, walked to the window, and faced the emptiness devouring the horizon.

The scene quivered like a feverish dream, and a sense of urgency stirred within him.

"Staying here isn't safe… I need to leave and find a purpose to keep moving."

Leaving his room, the house around him felt like a shelter abandoned by time.

Windows were blocked, doors locked, as if the very walls tried to shut out the outside world.

He took a deep breath and stepped into the empty living room, where fragments of past lives were scattered across the floor.

Each abandoned object held a story—a memory of better days.

In the kitchen, he found something to eat, chewing in silence while his gaze fell upon an old photograph.

He held it for a moment, then slipped it into his pocket.

"So much longing... I miss you all so much…"

After one last look at the hollow house, he turned his back and stepped into the deserted streets.

The silence was suffocating, and memories haunted every step.

"These streets were once full of life… now they're just shadows of what humanity used to be."

Suddenly, a distant noise made his heart race.

Instinctively, he ducked behind some rubble.

Not far ahead, a survivor was fighting a grotesque creature, its body twisted and deformed by the plague.

The boy watched in horror as the infected overpowered the man, slowly turning him.

The creature's skin was covered in a viscous slime, pulsing as if alive.

"These things… they're worse than zombies. They're something beyond… something monstrous."

Determined to avoid a direct encounter, he changed course and ran toward the forest.

But eerie sounds echoed around him, and soon he realized he was surrounded.

A group of infected followed, moving slowly, but relentlessly.

Without a second thought, he sprinted into the woods until he reached a ruined house.

He slipped inside silently, closed the door, and hid in the shadows.

The house's interior was a nightmare—human and infected corpses scattered across the floor, all partially covered by the slime that tainted everything it touched.

He scanned the area quickly, catching the acrid scent of decay mixed with the sour stench of the plague.

"These bodies… this slime… they're not just victims. They're controlled—part of something larger, something darker."

As he assessed the scene, a low dragging sound signaled an infected had entered the house.

He drew a deep breath, gripped his knife, and waited.

When the creature was only a few steps away, he struck with precision, slashing its neck.

The infected collapsed outside the house with a raspy, terrifying shriek.

Wasting no time, he fled through the back, vanishing once more into the darkness—

a shadow moving through a desolate world.
