"What are you doing here?" Daniel looked at the girl standing on the other side of the door. He hadn't expected to see her here, especially not at this hour.
"Sorry for bothering you at a bad time, but this is the only chance I have to talk to you," Leia said with a hint of embarrassment.
She didn't want to be here either. She knew she shouldn't be disturbing him, especially after a day like this with so many things happening.
But she had no other choice. Starting tomorrow, she wouldn't be allowed to leave the palace. Even tonight, she had to come up with several excuses—like wanting to thank Daniel—just to be allowed out.
"You better have a good reason for coming," Daniel said, looking into her eyes. He saw the distress and helplessness in them.
He stepped aside and gestured for her to come in. Then he told her to sit down and went to make at least two cups of tea.
It seemed he wasn't going to sleep any time soon.
