Chapter 13 - Beyond the Veil

Aaditya lingered in his room as dawn light seeped through the curtains. Just days ago, he had returned to his family's modest home after secretively placing the teleportation access card back at Varun's house. The familiar warmth of home had offered a fleeting comfort, but now the weight of his destiny pressed on him. He had made the decision: he could no longer remain within the safety of his ordinary life.

Quietly, he gathered his few belongings—a change of clothes, a worn-out notebook filled with his scribbled plans, and, most importantly, the card that granted access to Velmoda. His heart pounded, each beat echoing with the promise of a perilous journey. The whispered jabs of those who called him "Lucky Trash" at the Human Center still stung, but Aaditya knew that their opinions mattered little compared to the challenge ahead.

Stepping out into the chilly pre-dawn air, Aaditya walked along the familiar streets, his eyes fixed on the horizon. The city, a patchwork of everyday life, began to stir with the quiet murmurs of early morning. Yet, for Aaditya, every step was a deliberate move away from all he had known.

He reached the discreet teleporter station arranged by the Human Center—a small, unassuming building hidden between larger, nondescript structures. Inside, the atmosphere was clinical and efficient. The control panel on the platform hummed softly as he approached. Aaditya paused, clutching the teleportation access card tightly in his hand, and took one last look back at his home—a place filled with unconditional love and simple dreams.

His finger hovered over the activation button. With a determined exhale, he pressed it. A gentle, pulsing hum filled the room, and a glowing circle enveloped him. In an instant, the mundane surroundings of his hometown dissolved into a brilliant flash of light. For a moment, the sensation was like being weightless and suspended in time, and then everything reassembled.

Aaditya found himself standing on a smooth, metallic platform within the Human Shelter on Velmoda. The surroundings were starkly different—polished walls, cool artificial lighting, and quiet efficiency in every detail. Here, every resident was part of an elite group; many had been born into power or honed their skills through years of training. Yet, as he walked through the corridors, he couldn't shake the lingering whispers that had followed him: the sneers, the jeers calling him "Lucky Trash."

A few hushed voices among the young officers and high-rankers echoed his undeserved title. They viewed his arrival as an anomaly, a commoner lucky enough to have mistakenly found his way into a secret mission. Though their remarks hurt, Aaditya was resolved. He had endured grueling training and secret tests to earn his place, and now, on this alien planet, he would prove his worth.

Inside the shelter's main hall, the stark contrast between order and chaos was unmistakable. While the environment was polished and controlled, Aaditya could sense that danger lurked just beyond its perimeter. Here, every step forward would be a test—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

A senior officer approached him with a calm but measured tone. "Welcome to Velmoda," the officer said. "Your journey on this planet has only just begun. Remember, your past is behind you now. Only your strength—and your will to survive—will determine your future."

Aaditya nodded silently, his eyes burning with determination. He realized that leaving home wasn't just about escaping his past, but about embracing the vast unknown that lay ahead. Every lesson from combat arts, every ounce of survival training, and every calculation on the Dominez scale had been leading up to this moment.

As he walked deeper into the facility, his mind was a storm of memories and resolve. The future of his life—and perhaps the fate of those few who had dared to dream of something greater—depended on the steps he would take from this moment forward. His journey on Velmoda, with all its dangers and mysteries, was his alone to shape.
