In the ninth heaven there was a war going on, the god and demons were locked in a fierce battle and there were all kinds of weapons being fired by both realms into each other. the gods had lived for almost a million years and had developed unbelievable technologies with the amount of time they had on hand. their Holy cannons capable of firing hot slugs of holy energy directly into the lower realms was frightening.
The lower realms were trembling from the shear amount of destruction that took place, and demons were even more aggressive. they had their own weapons of mass destruction that would taint the holy land of the ninth heaven upon contact. the destruction was so frightening that at the end of the war, the holy realm and dark realm were both on the verge of collapse.
Gods destroyed the Demon's Chaos Core and Demons were able to blast apart god's spring of life. This resulted a vast amount dark and light affinity energies to be mixed with the middle realms and an unprecedented crisis took place on earth.
The earth underwent earthshattering changes and the Spatial rifts to different worlds opened up in the middle realm on which earth was located at. this was not the end of it as the energies of the Spring of life and Chaos core mixed with heaven and earth causing the animals, humans, plants and alien life forms alike to mutate. the new races were born like undead, goblins and vampires while on the other hand, there were noble races such as angels, Valkyr, elementals and elves.
The humanity was devastated with the changes. although they too changed for the better, they got minor boost to their physic and intelligence. their biggest advantage now became their weakness as the destruction of the old earth architecture got rid of humanity's best weapons of mass destruction and their bodies were not capable enough to fight against the monsters that appeared through the spatial rifts. Almost on the verge of being wiped out, one of the goddesses named Celestia gave a helping hand to humans by sacrificing her divinity and giving system to those humans who were worthy.
Today the skills that hunters use are given to the humanity by the godess celestia, it is said that there are countless treasures of both gods and demons scattered across the shattred dimentions but only the brave can retrive them.

Alex closed the book as he looked at the cover page. It was a book with hard cover and the title was " Rise of Hunters". This was an introductory page that explained the abilities that hunters had.
Alex stood up from his table and walked back to the bookshelf as he put the book back into it's place. Tomorrow will be his 18th birthday and he would finally get the free awakening potion provided by the government. He was an orphan and lived at the government school, his parents like the parents of every other kid at the school had died at the hands of monsters in the monster attacks.
The humanity stood tall today because of sacrifices of hunters. The technology adapted to use the monster carcasses and humanity was once again able to carve out a place for itself in the carnage of dimentions.
The place at which the school was located at was called the Garden of Nicolas. The name was based on a long dead hunter's name who cleared the monsters in the area for humanity to claim this place. Alex also wanted to be a hunter and break the shackles that bound him to a line of government duty for his whole life.
The whole population was militarized and orphans were required to serve eight years in army after their 18th birthday regardless of if they awakned the skill or not.
Alex had read each and every single book on hunter available in library and this was his last one that he picked up out of curiosity. He decided to finally head back to his dorm and take shower to clear his mind of any negative thoughts.

After taking the shower, he sat down on his bed. He had a roommate named Ron who would be returning soon from his extra time in the class awarded to him by the professor because of being caught looking at the Hottest Hunter catalogue.
The catalogue was taken by the professor for research purposes and Ron was assigned the cleaning duty of the class for the day.
The door of the dorm opened as Alex was getting wearing his clothes to go to the cafeteria and eat. It was Ron who was holding a candle. " hey dude, check this out, the janitor is a crack head and he told me that he has a secret way to make sure that you unlock the most powerful skill there is! He said to burn this candle in the middle of the night and try to concentrate on the flame. If you do this for six hours you are sure to unlock flame relates skill! "
Alex sighed as he grabbed Ron by his ear " I know b*lls*it when I hear it Ron and nobody can be sure what skills they would awaken. It's totally random so just shut up and let's go eat something. I am hungery and not in the mood for your pranks"
"Ouch! ouch! dude, but if it works for you then I can try it for myself when the time for me to awaken my skill comes! "
" Before you can awaken the skill, you need your grades high enough to get awarded an awakning potion. So just shut up and come with me "
Alex dragged Ron with him to the school cafeteria. It was located in the building it self and the food provided was procured from a local farm. The whole city was protected by a huge wall made from monster carcasses that stood tall and strong for hundreds of years.
They both entred the cafeteria as they found a small table in the corner to sit down and enjoy their food.
" Hey look over there, my love Patricia, oh the girl is so beautiful, I would give up an awakning potion to make her my girlfriend "
Ron said as he took another bite of the mishmash of the food provided by the government. " Don't even start dude, I am trying to eat here. Besides, she is way out of your league, maybe you should aim for a cute one like the glasses over there "
Alex pointed at a skinny girl in glasses sitting at the oposite table.
Ron took one look as he smiled " No thank you, I prefer them big ones, with long legs and huge... " He cut off his vulgur speech as he saw one of the professor come and sit down with them.
"... So Ron, you were Saying something? What kind of girls you like? "
" I was saying I would prefer someone with huge goals professor, I am such a sofisticated guy and a smart girl would suit me much better "
The professor smiled as he too started eating with them. " so Alex, nervous about the awakning ceremony? "
Alex smiled as he looked at the professor " No sir, I am perfectly ready to receive my skills and awaken as the hunter. "
Professor nodded as he gulped down the milk " well, truth to be told, only 5% of the people would awaken the skills and of those, only 5% of the people would have skills suitable for them to be hunters. From my class, you are the one with lowest grades so I would advise you to do some good exercise, at least your body would be able to handle the strain that certain skills put on it.
And besides it never hurts to be prepared. I would also tell you, Ron, to exercise with him. Your physicals are good so give him some tips and maybe learn a things or two about how to pass the Awakning exams from him. Maybe one day your thick brain can pass it and get an awakning potion. "
" Oh professor, thanks but being a hunter isn't for me, I am aiming to become a plumber one day and then doctor the next day and then i would be a police officer!... "

Alex almost chocked on his food as he gladed at Ron. The professor gave ron a confused look as he stood up " Well whatever, I am finished eating and all the best Alex " He said as he left with a smile.
" Professor Ainsley is such a friendly guy, do you think we should invite him to our club of huge assets admirers? "
" Your club of huge assets admirers! And don't you do that next time, he thinks I am a good guy man. Way to go and ruin my image. " Alex said as he too finishd eating and gulped down the glass of milk
" yeah, yeah. Calm down. He doesn't know what I am talking about, he is a model guy living a model life. By the way, my Patricia is also going to attend the ceremony. Do you think I should wear a chearing t-shirt for her? "
" she is practically garanteed to get a skill by the looks of it as he parents were hunters, so you better watch your mouth, or else she would surly cook you alive after she awaknes a skill "
" But I love her angry looks and cold personality. It would be my honor to die by her hands"
Alex was too stunned to speak as he looked at Ron closely. " Dude, Give me a break! You would scream like a little bi*ch if I poured hot coffee on your pants. And I swear, at least give me one day of peaceful eating without you blabring about a hottie of the class. "
Ron nodded as he smiled " Fine fine, by the way, all the best for tomorrow, I hope you can become the best hunter there is!"
