As Arden saw Howard writing down details about the stories he was telling which didn't really feel like stories to him for some reason.
He focused all of his energy into his eyes for a big show as they began to dart around so fast that it looks like they had gone opaque White as he went back to the normal time he said.
"As thanks for my rescue I will tell you of one future your death or the death of shield I will let you know that yours is sooner than the death of shield"
Howard who had previously been very happy to have met somebody who had control over time and that was of higher being suddenly looked somewhat scared.
"Haha you got me for answer this just one question do I die of old age" Howard said jokingly as if it was a funny comment
Arden answered back without missing a beat"No"
Although there was melancholy in Howard's voice he responded back"I would like to know the death of shield"
Now this ability that he was talking about to see the future was totally bogus he simply focused his ability to dilate time solely on his eyes the way he was seeing the future was through the movies he had watched when he was human. But nonetheless he still responded.
"In the year 2014 in a battle against the Winter soldier even with Captain America's help shield is still destroyed thanks to the efforts of Hydra who has sown its insidious parasitic Roots into the very nature of shield from its very beginning through projects like the paperclip program"
This came to the astonishment of Howard as before he could even speak Peggy Carter storm through the door stared down Arden as she said"say that again what happened"
"Hydra destroys shield after project insight fails" Arden repeated resolutely.
This didn't seem to please her but not in the way Arden thought as she spoke once more
"What was that about Captain America"she said well shouting.
I didn't responded back almost effortlessly
"After being thawed out of the ice in 2011 Captain America fought the Winter soldier Bucky Barnes who had been brainwashed by Hydra in the last ditch effort to stop the fall of shield"
I didn't know why but revealing the truths about the future felt really nice. So he felt this need to go further and further to reveal more and more even if he wasn't asked to.
This startled both Carter and Howard we're not only startled by the fact that Steve was alive but also by the fact that Bucky Barnes was the Winter soldier who had been coming around maybe two or three times he hadn't been given that moniker yet but similar titles were granted to the assassin.
They stormed out of the room leaving Arden alone and they went to the deliberate on what he had just said. For the next two weeks Arden was treated similarly to a prisoner as he was carted around and given food. Arden wasn't really sure if he needed food anymore it felt more like a habit than anything else. Although for Arden he made it more like 5 days.
And so they finally came in after another half a week it was Wednesday afternoon when they spoke again.
Peggy looked seriously at Arden as she spoke" so we decided you are going to help us rid shield of Hydra and you're going to help us free Bucky and save Steve"
Arden was a little disgruntled by this as he responded "I just wanted to tell you this as a thank you plus for what's coming in the future you really shouldn't wake up Captain America right now, he'd be far too old to fight what's coming when it arrives" Arden said self-assuredly
It seems to make them very angry as just when they had made up their minds about how they would treat the situation Arden dropped another bomb over their head.
But Peggy Carter wasn't one to back down so she used his love of revealing the future against him as she spoke another question
"What is that supposed to mean when are we supposed to wake him up or save Bucky if not now especially Bucky who's going to be killing people for the next whatever years"she seemed to be berating Arden like he was his fault
I responded back cheerfully for some reason "due to a the attack during 2008, 2012,2014, 2015,2018 and 2023 the team will be lacking it's leader during these crucial fights"
Peggy of course expected the attack in 2014 that's when Hydra was supposed to destroy shield but what she didn't expect was the amount of these attacks if they're supposed to be at the same scale of the destroying of shield this was a problem and it seemed to be a lot bigger than just cap or this Chronobits alien guy.
Peggy was about to ask Arden another question when he spoke up "I think that's enough revealing I would like to join This Shield to hone my powers at once. moreover start me as a grunt of the lowest level and let me work my way up all I ask is that you let me keep my first name"
Peggy was taking it back by this shield was newly formed and although they were needing new recruits and alien with control over time was not in their docket but if there was even a chance that he would reveal more of the future if she followed his words she really had no choice for the protection of the world.
Arden snapped his fingers as if he had a revelation as he spoke "well actually you can save Bucky he's in cryosleep currently and they usually only wake him up to kill if you wake him up de-brainwash him and put him back under he could be ready by the time the attacks come"
Although this was barely anything Peggy was hopeful for the fact that she may get one of her friends back after such a long time. Even if she could only wake him up for days at a time it would be worth it.
