Last Chapter Recap: Communicator: We'll enter hyperplane in ten minutes. Our destination is planet Violet in Armod star zone. Victory to Alliance!

NOW

After Take off, Adam heads to the deck crew.

"Captain, Ensign Black reporting for duty!" Adam said, saluting.

"At ease," Selana asked. "How are you feeling? Did you get used to the artificial gravity on our ship?"

"Completely, Captain," Adam said. "Before you ask, I've also familiarized myself with the ship's systems already."

"Good," Selana smiled and asked, "Did you notice anything unusual?"

"I don't know if I'd call it that," Adam said, "but for a combat cruiser, Goliath is equipped with many systems."

"Yes, there's no hiding it," Selana said seriously. "Our Goliath was built for various missions, not just ordinary fleet operations."

'Just as Neo-Terran intelligence suspected, despite its assignment in the Space Titans fleet, Goliath might actually be primarily used for special operations.'

'Even with its small crew, this ship could probably destroy an entire battalion of Neo-Terran pirates... with ease.' Adam thought, shocked.

(A/N: In Neo-Terran, the police and military are referred to as "pirates.")

"I don't think ground maintenance is good with those kinds of systems," Adam said. "So I'll run an advanced diagnostic on them later, just in case."

"Oh?" Selana smiled, crossing her arms. "You feel so confident?"

"Yes, ma'am," Adam said confidently. "Do you have any specific orders for me?"

"In the meantime, continue familiarizing yourself with the ship's systems and the crew," Selana said.

"Yes, ma'am!" Adam said, saluting before leaving.

Adam first went to the medical bay.

Medical Bay

"Good morning, Ensign," Ivanna asked. "How's your body after the first night on our Goliath? Any irregularities?"

"All is fine, Doctor," Adam smiled.

"That's good," Ivanna said with a smile. "Three of our new engineers had headaches, so I was worried about you."

"Are they all right?" Adam asked, concerned.

"There's no problem," Ivanna smiled. "That can be solved with a suitable injection."

"Ha ha," Adam chuckled. "That sounds like something a mad doctor would say."

"Is that so?" Ivanna said, confused. "But modern medicine is built upon direct injections... Aren't they all mad doctors then?"

"I was just joking, Doctor," Adam smiled.

"So did I, Ensign," Ivanna smiled back. "Good humor is a pretty good cure for most mental conditions, after all."

"Hah," Adam sighed.

"So?" Ivanna asked. "How may I help you?"

"Captain sent me to check if any officer might need my help with electronics," Adam said. "Did your equipment cause any trouble recently, Doctor?"

"Hmmm... I don't think we've had any malfunctions," Ivanna said, thinking. "I do keep our software up to date, after all."

After working with some electronic software and finishing other tasks in the medical bay, Adam said goodbye to Ivanna and left.

Afterward, Adam went to the secondary propulsion system.

Secondary Propulsion System

'There'… no one?'

'Now. Almost everything is handled by machine, huh…' Adam thought.

"Boo!" a voice came from behind.

'Enemy attack! What the hell?! I almost had a heart attack there! Damn, I fell on my back... damn, it hurts!' Adam exclaimed.

"Sorry, did it hurt?" Natasha asked, shocked.

"Like hell!" Adam said in pain. "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

"Sorry, sorry!" Natasha said, coming closer. "C'mon, you didn't fall that badly. Mommy will choo-choo the pain away."

Ignoring the playful girl, I gather myself from the floor, along with my scattered equipment.

"I see pilots have too much free time on this ship," Adam said.

"It's not like we can practice in hyperspace, right?" Natasha asked, confused. "Besides, it's your fault for sneaking in. What are you doing to my baby?"

"Maintenance, what else!" Adam said. "Captain asked me to!"

"I see, I see, I get it, mm," Natasha said.

"So? How's my girl?" Natasha asked. "You didn't find any viruses, did you?"

(A/N: baby, girl here refers to Space jets)

"As if any could pass through the ship's great firewall!" Adam said, raising an eyebrow. "I just wanted to get used to the Operating System (OS)."

"Good," Natasha said seriously. "Remember, if something malfunctions in my girl, I'll throw you out of the spaceship. Is that clear?"

"Where did that come from?" Adam asked, confused.

Natasha just stared and left.

'I need to focus. The Space Titans fighters are of tertiary importance to me. For now, I'd better avoid this hanger. Yup.'

"...Damn, my back..." Adam said in pain, and left.

"Ughh… I feel tired."

"Wandering over Goliath can drain even an athlete," Adam said, walking to another room.

"This is… secondary engine room?"

Adam planned to roam around the room, thinking about his future plans. However.

"Hmmm..." Adam felt something at the back of his head.

"Do not move, traitor! Hands up!" a voice came from behind.
