Chapter 40 - CHAPTER THIRTY-NINE

LAUGHING OUT LOUD Leah just laughed at what she was doing to the people who were hurting her.

I need to go back to my palace. She only thought to herself. Leah happily walked and entered her palace; she saw the three again. She quietly sat back down on her throne.

"What did you do to my sister, Leah? Sheila is not at fault here." Angely, who's staring at her intently, asked the question right away.

She only raised an eyebrow, but she just smiled at Angely, who was glaring at her furiously.

"Don't worry, I didn't kill your little sister, Angely; I'm not that bad." She just shook her head.

"Hay! They're growing so fast, right? It hurts so much to forget them so easily. They're still very young, so they don't remember me all that much." Leah looked at them.

"How did we meet again, Angely?" She teasingly asked her.

She scrutinized Angely then. "What is the secret you're keeping?" she asked, pondering the possibilities.

"You don't have any business there, Leah! That's not your concern anymore!" Angely said to her angrily.

 "I care!" Leah said defiantly.

Angely even laughed at her and chuckled. "Why don't you find out the truth, Leah? You're good at that." Angely scoffed and mocked her.

She only smiled at his companion. "Thank you for your suggestions; I forgot to do something."

She turned to the three. "You poor things, you won't be able to stroll in the world you love so much." She could only shake her head. "You will suffer here if time drags on." She smirked at the people in front of her.

"Will the same thing happen to Sharlene's child?" Felicia asked her, grinning at her.

She stared at the old woman; she knew Felicia was planning something.

"That child won't be able to get out; if Ashley does, she'll carry the curse I made back then." Reminded her and mocked Leah again.

Leah didn't answer; she just sighed.

"What it means is that the soul of that child will remain until its body decays." Felicia, please proceed with the gentle teasing.

"In the end, Sharlene will come here; she will come and help us here." Felicia even laughed at her.

"I can see you two are going to fight here, Leah." She even shook her head at her.

Leah simply listened to the old woman's words while she gazed at the cage holding young Ashley. She was still looking for a way to escape.

Let go of your anger, Leah. Someone is whispering to her again. Leah sees herself as one of her personas. To carry out his plan and revenge, she has removed her true self.

No, I won't stop. I won't stop. Leah argued with one of her personalities again.

When will you stop? Until there are innocent people, who will be affected? Please, stop that already. Her true self begging at her.

Watch the child. Leah commanded her other self. Never, ever give in to the pity you feel right now. Remember, you are the one who made me. She passed by herself, looking at her.

I made you, so I'm here to stop this behavior. Explained it to her.

Don't you feel sorry for yourself? Your family has no idea what happened to you. You have no grave; we are souls looking for our bodies, like what happened to your child. Leah reminds her other self.

It didn't say anything anymore; it fell silent.

Sorry if I was weak, but I won't allow you to hurt the innocent.

They are not innocent. Her answer was short and blunt.

Their clan is not innocent. She added.

Is Sharlene going to be part of this? The other one asked her.

 Leah didn't answer.

Sharlene will get involved if she interferes, but I know what she will do now: she won't succumb to the anger she feels. Despite her recent string of misfortune, she continues to seek assistance from others. Leah only smiled.

It suddenly disappeared from her sight; she continued walking in the darkness. Leah ended up in a place; she suddenly remembered that she was buried alive here. an abandoned place, quiet and deserted.

A week had passed since Leah underwent a forced abortion. She buried the child in their mansion without even giving it a name.

They had a quarrel because her husband killed their child. The painful part is that it died in her womb; whenever she remembers that, she can't help but tremble with rage.

"I can still forgive you; I can still forgive you if you surrender to the police! Manuel, even though I love you so much, you killed a defenseless person! Above all, it's our child! Our child!" Leah spoke to him face-to-face.

"Give up already. Don't worry, I won't add your infidelity, and I won't add what you stole from my family; I just want to give birth to my child and give him justice." Leah's tears were welling up, pleading with the person she once loved.

However, her cries went unheeded; Manuel struck her in the stomach, causing her to lose consciousness from the force of the blow. Given that she had recently lost a child from her womb, she was unsure of her whereabouts. Leah just woke up to find herself inside a coffin.

She is scared; she can't get up, so she tries to push the cover off her to get out. No matter how hard she pushed, she couldn't lift it.

Leah hears the faint conversations from then; she is crying in fear, begging them to open up. Her face was wet with the tears that were falling.

"What sin have I committed? What sin have I committed against you?" Leah weakly asked as she and her world slowly began to close in.

Leah was alone in the darkness, her fingers aching, because she hoped she could escape, but she couldn't.

"What sin have I committed?" Gradually, her surroundings fell silent.

Leah immediately found her grave. Decades have passed, and a mansion now stands. She looked at it; she didn't know whose mansion it was, even though its appearance had changed.

She gazed at it; the memory of her crying, with no one hearing but herself, was still there, and her former grave had a beautiful garden.

Am I a beautiful flower? She found herself asking. She saw two people enter the mansion; she looked to see who owned the mansion that had become the resting place of souls like her.

Suddenly, her eyebrows shot up when she saw the familiar face. Leah laughed as if there was no tomorrow.

The weather is truly unpredictable; you never know who you might run into. She could only think to herself back then.

Leah followed, and a bright mansion greeted her sight. She could only laugh and shake her head.

Is the truth the secret you kept from me, Angely? She could only ask herself.

Suddenly, she recalled the event from before, and she was right in suspecting that the land where she was buried had been bought.

It was, indeed, a wise decision to safeguard it. Leah could only say it in her mind.

Atienza and her husband purchased the land to conceal her disappearance from the world.
