Chapter 12 – The Letter
Hi.
If you're reading this, it means you're just as much of a fool as I was—coming here for this inheritance without even thinking of a plan B.
I spent my whole life trapped in this place, thinking power was everything.
I abandoned my wife and kids to chase after strength.
Now, at the end of my life, I realize what a fool I've been.
To whoever is reading this letter, I'm leaving a map below with the location where you might find information about the divine domain and the inheritance.
I only have one last request: if you manage to leave this place, please… apologize to my family for me—if I even have the right to still call them that.
Their address is written alongside the map.
Please…
The final advice of an old fool: never forget the people who are truly important to you.

Adrian finishes reading the letter in silence.
He already had the most precious thing in the world beside him… too bad he only realized it too late.
— I promise — Adrian says, sighing as he stares at the paper in his hands.
He looks at the man's body and decides to bury him.
In front of the freshly covered grave, he says:
— I don't know what the right words are... but I know what you'd want to hear.
I promise I'll find your family. I'll deliver your apology to them. I swear it.
Adrian speaks with a serious look on his face.
He glances at his watch and sees there's only half an hour left until the meeting with Cordelia.
— I better get going, or I'll be late — he says, running toward the meeting point.
—
Cordelia, waiting:
— Where is that guy? I told him to be back before nightfall…
Adrian:
— Sorry I'm late. I found something I need to show you.
Cordelia:
— Not now. We need to get home before it gets completely dark. Come on, follow me.
We'll talk once we're back.
She runs ahead of Adrian.
— Hey! Wait up! — he yells, trying to keep pace.
—
Back at the house:
Cordelia:
— We're here. So… what was so important?
Adrian:
— I found this — he says, showing her the power stone and the letter.
Cordelia picks up both and examines them.
— A power stone… and a letter?
Adrian:
— Read the letter.
Cordelia opens it, reads it carefully, and lets out a long sigh.
— So… what do you want to do with this information? — she asks, looking straight at Adrian.
Adrian replies firmly:
— I have an idea. An idea that might help us find your parents… and the inheritance.
