Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: "You're going to get a power boost"

To inform you, I'm a die-hard Marvel fan, and that's also the reason I write my story. So, like most of you have already noticed, this is going to be a very original universe—neither the MCU nor the comics, just a blend of the two. You also need to be patient. I don't want to info-dump and tell you everything right away; instead, I want you to notice the changes and the responses to your questions in the story.

...

Five days have passed since I left Hel and came to Earth, five days since I noticed the strangeness and the change that happened to my mentality.

After all, I now have a strong soul and more life experience than any human on Earth. I didn't spend the past five days sulking; I recovered from the discovery the same day.

Especially since I haven't lost all the joy of seeing other forms of entertainment.

[Another head hangs lowly, child is slowly taken...] (🎶🎶🎶)

That's right, when I crossed out this song from my past life by accident, I felt some of my emotions and even started to miss songs from my past life.

Unfortunately, I would most likely not hear most of them. Why? Because it's the Marvel World.

From the information I collected, the world still hasn't entered the Heroes and Villains phase. The only villains are the 'dead' Red Skull and the international terrorist Magneto.

That's right, thanks to the old man's presence, it became apparent that mutants exist in this world. It's just that the world is now in the calm before the storm period.

You can see on TV that Tony Stark is about to demonstrate his weapons, a certain group of people is about to go to space for a 'picnic', a certain African tribe prince studying in New York is becoming popular, etc...

"Zombie," the DJ's voice intoned after the song concluded. "The latest from The Cranberries, climbing the charts faster than my ex ran from commitment."

The little joke of the DJ made me forget about everything that is coming. Anyway, I'm already strong enough to protect myself in the early stages. I just need to keep evolving, as I know the comic book threats will only become stronger.

After the song ended, I didn't continue listening. Anyway, most 90's songs aren't to my taste. I prefer electronic and hardstyle music.

I directly traversed through the different walls until I came down to the hidden basement, where even if a nuclear bomb were to explode, you might not know it.

Here, I found Ophelia training, adapting herself to the Super Soldier Serum. She now looks more toned and is almost reaching my height, clearly having optimized her body.

The change, though, wasn't as big as Steve's since she was originally a well-trained assassin with a well-proportioned body, almost reaching the peak of humanity.

I couldn't help but admire her. Most superheroes just obtain powers by accident, save someone by accident, and become heroes.

They generally don't train or develop their abilities unless a villain stronger than them appears. Only then would they seek change. Thanks to them being main characters, they would manage to escape unscathed.

Villains, on the other hand, are almost never complacent when it comes to obtaining more powers. They always want to become stronger and never let any opportunity pass.

If a superhero obtains the Super Soldier Serum, he would be like, "Oh, that's cool. Let's go save people."

The villains, however, would be more like, "Oh, I need to adapt to my new power and obtain more powers to dominate the world."

This doesn't include second-rate villains, of course, who, just by obtaining something, think they are the strongest in the world.

Now, what is bothering me is how to classify this world. Mutants exist, so there's no question about it being the MCU. But even so, Tony Stark's face was that of Robert Downey Jr., and the same for Captain America with Chris Evans's face.

Some events are according to the comics, while others are like in the MCU. So, yeah, all my advantage of knowing the future is almost nonexistent.

Now, I'm even more confused since some things aren't like in the movie. What if the Allfather didn't take the express elevator to Valhalla? Does that mean my body would have to continue sleeping in Hel?

Just this thought is enough to make me shudder. No, I can't let my future depend on whether Odin dies or not.

One must know that in the comics, the Allfather has died multiple times, but it was never permanent.

He's been killed in battles, gone into the Odin-Sleep (basically divine hibernation), and has even faked his death.

One of his most iconic deaths was during Ragnarok, but even then, he kind of returned later in some form.

He's fought beings like Surtur, Mangog, and Infinity-level threats—and actually put up a serious fight.

Even when he dies, it's often in some epic, multi-issue war against cosmic threats, and usually involves Asgard being destroyed (again).

So yeah, I really need to become stronger for my freedom and everything that is about to come. Naturally, the most direct and easiest way to do this is by following one of my 'lovers' in another parallel universe and collecting the Infinity Stones. Knowing the future and their possible locations, it would be easier for me than for him.

But since I can't do it myself, I should guide my team to do the task for me or at least free me. For this, I need stronger people, and now, I only have Viper. The current her is also not strong enough.

I thought about the information I learned in the past few days, and one thing that could make her stronger. I couldn't help but smirk thinking of a way for her to gain superpowers.

"Honey, I think you have adapted to your current body's changes. It's time for high power."

Ah, teasing the women again. Even now, she fell for it, as I can hear her heart beating. Still, it's better than last time when her heart almost left her body.

I can understand her. Trained not to be surprised, even a little bit of sound can tell her someone's near, but me floating, she never knows where I am, so yeah, it's normal for her to be caught off guard.

When she realized what had happened and looked at me, I could see some annoyance on her face, but well, I guess the illusions I made her see in Hel weren't for nothing.

She hid that annoyance well and spoke more respectfully and curiously, which make me give her a thumb silently. "My goddess, you caught me off guard again."

I don't know if she was quickly accepting her role as inferior to someone or if she's used to it since Hydra always had someone above her, but I didn't hear disgust when she spoke.

I was even more pleased with this. It seems that my choice was the right one. I gave her a smirk, my voice low and confident. "Let's just say you're going to get a power boost. Something that'll put you on a whole new level."

...

Okay guys, here's the deal: we're currently ranked 15th in the Power Stone rankings, and I believe we'll break into the top 10 soon. So, here's what I'll do:

If we reach the Top 10 and stay there for one week, I'll upload two chapters a day during that week.

If we hit the Top 5, I'll extend that to two chapters a day for two weeks.

And if, by some miracle, we reach Rank 1, it'll be two chapters a day for four weeks—as long as we stay at the top!

So let's make it happen! And don't forget to support me on Patreon!
