Chapter 47: Unexpected Reward! Gwen's Affectionate Arrival!
Peter was in a terrible situation.
All the scales on his body had been torn off. If it weren't for his powerful self-healing ability, he wouldn't have survived this long.
Ethan Lee picked up his Fire Kirin AK47 and aimed it at Venom. Despite what he'd led everyone to believe earlier, this gun actually had unlimited ammo—he was just pretending to be out of bullets.
"This gun… was it also a gift from a friend?" Jessica asked, clearly at a loss for words.
She didn't know how to describe it.
"So… so special," she finally said.
"And he's handsome," she added under her breath.
Ethan took aim and opened fire. Bullets poured out like rain.
"Ethan, you should leave first…" Gwen said suddenly, stepping in front of him.
"It's too dangerous here. Leave this to us," she added, concern evident in her voice.
"Um… alright then," Ethan replied, slipping his gun away. "I'll wait downstairs for you two."
"Mm!" Gwen nodded, adjusting the hood of her white uniform. Her bright eyes peered seriously at Venom from behind her mask.
"Leave it to us."
Jessica pulled off her metal mask, tossed it aside, and let it land with a soft clang into the concrete.
Silver light shimmered around her as she launched forward, her feet grazing the ground, and she kicked Venom square in the head.

Time passed.
After the rooftop battle, the building was surrounded by police cars.
"Jessica, what am I supposed to do with you?" Chief George scolded.
"Look at yourself—your brother told you to stay home, but you still ran out to play superhero!"
"I told you, didn't I? This kind of thing is too dangerous. Even if you have powers, you shouldn't do this!"
"You're still young. Why can't you be more grounded… like Ethan?"
Jessica stood quietly, poking her index fingers together with a pitiful expression.
After finishing off Venom, she had come down to find her brother, only to run into Uncle George instead.
Gwen, the shameless traitor, had taken advantage of her masked identity to sneak away without saying goodbye.
Occasionally, Jessica would shoot a glare in a certain direction—

Gwen, who was hanging from a street lamp in the distance, was watching the scene unfold with amusement. With a smirk, she popped in her Bluetooth earbuds and swung away on a web line, music playing softly in her ears.
