The question had always been at the back of his mind gnawing at him, even though shape-shifting to others seemed to make him even more proficient, there were no relevant changes in his limits, he still had to touch others to change form and his cells still seemed to be unable to withstand mutant cells.
It was evident by the fact that he could barely sustain Rocky's form and although he could sustain Emma's form he couldn't keep in touch and control it for long before they started running out of control.
If he couldn't become stronger by shape-shifting and could only get used to his powers with that method and he couldn't discover his real power soon then he would only become stagnant soon and would be able to shift into only normal humans or the best he could do was what he did to Emma
Just disintegrate the opponent's cells and weaken them until he wins but how long would that sustain him for was a question to solve in itself.
But now looking at the black balls suddenly appearing he thought 'It never came to me before but others only have partially changed cells but how is every single cell in my body black and silent and no hint of movement or connection between them?'
'Cells are the building blocks of all living organisms and they have to interact with one another to function properly so how is mine so silent and disorganized yet I can live like any other human being, this is definitely not normal right?'
He rushed to Emma and helped him up and asked
"Hey bro, what's wrong?"
"My arm, it feels numb"
"What do you mean your hand feels numb don't tell me your hand collapsed just from arm-wrestling with me? Perhaps I should've gone a bit easier on you then."
He said while trying to ease the atmosphere.
"No, that's not it" Emma said while shaking his head.
"This feels like I've lost all the blood in my hand or more like I can't feel it at all, only a little tingling sensation"
"Hey, hey just calm down okay, rest for a bit and it'll be alright"
David tried to calm him down while trying ways to help his recover faster.
Looking at this, Emma shrugged and said "Don't worry, perhaps I stretched myself a bit too far there, a little rest and I'll be alright, so just calm down it's not like it's your fault anyways."
Emma stood up and left without giving David any chance to refute his words anymore.
David looked at Emma as he left, feeling guilty since he knew he could've withdrawn earlier and his condition wasn't because there was no flow of blood in his hands but because there was nothing there!
In short, his current right hand could be said to still be linked to his main body and the flesh is still there but the main essence in it were gone already leaving behind only a dried husk which was why he couldn't feel anything.
'He'll be fine, it's just a matter of time, he's a mutant anyways.'
Getting inside he took a chair, sat down then look at his hand or more specifically at what was bothering him.
In his hand, he could see everything just as silent and calm as before, each of them floating about just like before but in a small spot on his hand, one of the spots where the cells had disintegrated, he could see a small cluster of cells with blue and a small hint of red color.
No doubt, those were Emma's cells but why would the cells still be featuring this shape even after he lost contact with him?
Perhaps they'll go soon, yeah they'll go away soon.
Saying that he went back to bed and tried his best to have a quick nap to rid his minds of the thoughts.
----------------------------------`
After waking up barely an hour later, he checked his hand again and found the little cluster still floating about in the same spot, not interacting with the others besides those in the cluster itself.
It seemed the cluster was permanent or at least it had no intention of leaving anytime soon.
'If the little boy intends to stay there then I must find some uses for it right?' Emma thought as he had a ridiculous idea popping up in his mind.
He tried the same thing he did while changing only his muscles only this time he thought of the other cells moving towards the little cluster when suddenly all of the cells nearby and even those in other areas all over his body started rushing towards the little cluster then took its form and suddenly he found his whole perspective becoming different as he checked his hands and body now filled with the same type of cells.
He jumped up from the bed and ran to the mirror to find a full blown Emma staring back at himself.
"Holy shit!!"
That was the first time, the very first time he had shifted into another person completely without any discomfort and even the cells weren't in a chaotic state but stood in their respective positions just floating silently just like before but he couldn't deny the fact that he could actually fully morph into another person for a long period of time.
Besides, when he looked at his right hand he could still see the small cluster floating unaffected, which means the other cells only used it as a prototype for copying and didn't affect it at all!
"This is so insane! If this is really true then it means I can also copy the cells of others, store it then use it later on whenever I wish to!"
"So what if I copied Michael then wouldn't I just blast my way through all those boxing champions?"
"This is becoming even more interesting"
