Chapter 127 - Chapter-252 Hide and Seek

Jay-jay's POV

"Ouch!" I complained while trying to pull my hand away."...your nails are hurting me!"

"You walk like a tortoise. So slow!" Honey said irritably.

She continued dragging me along. And to think she's wearing high heels. If I were in the mood right now, I would have punched her already. We just finished our drama with the Serpents, so I still feel heavy.

We arrived outside the school where her car was parked. I'm going to get in trouble with Kuya Angelo; he'll think I cut class. How am I supposed to explain to him that I was abducted by a bee?

"Get in!" she ordered when we stopped in front of her car.

Wow. A Ferrari.

I immediately held my wrist when she finally let go. Her grip really hurt. I feel like it reached my bones. This girl must really hate me!

"Why do I have to come? You should have brought Felix." I said.

She just dragged me along. I didn't even get a chance to answer, nor did Felix. How was I supposed to know where that brilliant guy was?

"Are you dumb or what? Obviously, because you're his stepsister." she answered, snapping her fingers.

Hold on a second! She just sassed me.

I put one hand on my hip while mimicking her dramatic hand gesture with the other, as if I were ready to scratch with my long nails.

"Obviously, you're dumb." I retorted, snapping my fingers in the air. "...Felix lives with him, so you should have dragged him instead."

"Eew. Don't copy me." she said, raising an eyebrow. "I can't bring Felix."

I dropped my hand from my hip and smacked my forehead with the other. This girl is just as stubborn. She and Freya would make great besties.

"Why not?"

"Because we have a past."

I raised an eyebrow. "You two dated?"

"No!" she quickly denied. "He courted me, but I never said yes. Things like that."

I nodded as if I believed her, but I wasn't convinced. She couldn't even look me in the eye and seemed tense. Her sass from earlier had disappeared.

I smell something… smells like crap.

"Eeww... Did you fart?" I asked, covering my nose.

She glared at me. "Hell no!"

I looked around. There were no dogs or any animal droppings nearby. I glanced back at Honey and noticed the sweat forming on her forehead.

I grinned widely. "You totally farted, didn't you?"

"N-no! Stop it!"

My grin widened even more. "Alright then. If you didn't fart, let me touch your ear." I said, reaching for her ear. "...they say if it's cold, you farted."

She immediately moved her ear away from me and slapped my hand, making me wince in pain.

"What the fvck?! Just get in the car already! You're pissing me off."

I rolled my eyes at her and finally got into her fancy car.

Sheeeet! Just the seats alone scream rich. Now I suddenly want a car like this.

She got in as well and started the engine quickly. Good thing the traffic in front of us was a bit slow; otherwise, she looked ready to speed off with how tightly she was gripping the steering wheel.

"What's with the traffic? At least in London, it's not like this." she said irritably.

I immediately turned to her. Did she just say London? London. As far as I know…

Could they have been together?

"You came from London?" I asked.

She glanced at me briefly before focusing back on the road.

"Yes. I am." she answered, sounding bored.

"W-were you with K-Keifer?" I asked hesitantly.

I wanted to take back what I said. I really didn't want to know. I had a bad feeling about her answer. But a huge part of me wanted to hear what she had to say.

"Y-yes." she replied, and my chest immediately felt heavy.

Damn you, you traitor!

I knew it! That bastard really is a shameless jerk. No wonder he could ignore me so easily. No wonder! You Judas! You're the brother of Herod! You're a pest! A plague!

"...but please don't tell him that I admitted it to you! He will kill me!" she added, making me freeze.

I looked at her in confusion, even though I really wanted to grab her long hair and slam her face against the steering wheel.

"W-what do you mean..."

"Yes, I'm with him in London, but the reason is because of my job." she explained, glancing at me from time to time. "...He's my boss."

I blinked rapidly at what she was saying. Keifer is her boss? She's just his employee? And here I thought something was going on between them.

"Hold on! Stop the car! Explain this properly!" I ordered angrily.

"Ugh! I can't believe I have to do this!" she complained, but she still turned the car and parked on the side of the road.

"Explain it properly! From the top!" I demanded again.

She rolled her eyes before speaking. "Look, Keifer is my boss. I know you already know that my uncle is his lawyer. He needed someone trustworthy, and I was one of them."

"What's your job for him? Sexytary? Is that it?!" I snapped.

"You can say....but maybe not. As far as I remember, Keigan is his assistant."

Keigan? What does Keigan have to do with this? He's still so young. The same age as C-in, but then again, he's smart. He thinks like an adult.

"Okay. Let's just say you're the assistant." I said to set the topic aside. "...but what are you doing in London?"

Playing king and queen? Is that it?

She rolled her eyes again as if I was the dumbest person she had ever talked to.

"Duh! Haven't you heard about all of Watson's money being transferred to him?"

I scratched my head. "I-I did hear about it."

"And you're asking a damn question." She said sarcastically. "...we're talking about billions or trillions of money here. What do you think we're doing in London? Of course, working with it! Helping him transfer and handle the paperwork." She explained in irritation. "...seriously?"

Sorry! How was I supposed to know?

I shrank in my seat because of the way she spoke. I felt like the dumbest person alive, not understanding what they were doing.

"If you have work, then why are you here?"

She looked at me again as if I had the smallest brain in the world.

"Do you really not know what's happening with Keifer?"

I shook my head, confusion written all over my face. She stared at me for a moment before deciding to start the car again.

"Later." That was all she said to me.

I chose to keep quiet. If I annoyed her any further, she might not tell me what I needed to know about that fool.

But why was she talking about Keifer when I was asking about her? So confusing. And what the hell did my crazy brother do to her?

He must have done something stupid.

"Where are we going to find Percy?" She asked calmly.

"Let's try Felix's house."

I pointed the way. It wasn't long before she turned into the subdivision where their house was. I immediately spotted Felix's house, which I had visited a few times before.

I was about to point it out, but it seemed unnecessary. Even from a distance, she was already glaring at it. She stopped right in front of it without even asking me which exact house we were going to.

Something's definitely up.

I got out of the car, and so did she. At first, I didn't move, waiting to see if she would be the one to knock and talk to the people inside.

When she didn't budge, I took the initiative and pressed the doorbell twice.

We only waited a few seconds before the gate opened, revealing Felix's mom. She was holding a potholder and wearing an apron.

"J-Jay-jay? H-how are you? Do you need something?" She asked, stuttering.

I noticed she seemed uneasy, glancing inside several times. I wasn't sure why she was acting that way, but I had a bad feeling. I smiled at her.

"Good day, ma'am. I have someone with me who's looking for Percy." I said, pointing to Pulot. "...this is Hali—uh, Honey Bee."

I almost called her a monster.

Tita smiled at her. "H-hello? Nice to meet you. I'm Percy's mother."

Honey stepped closer, still smiling, and kissed her on both cheeks before walking straight inside the gate.

Wow!

She stopped, looked around, then turned to us. "Nice to meet you too. Shall I call you Mom or Mama or Mommy?"

Huh? This girl is seriously something else. Unbelievable!

I grimaced at her audacity. Felix's mom, on the other hand, was full of confusion.

"H-ha?" Was all she could say.

Honey smiled again, flipping her long hair. "I'm your future daughter-in-law."

You just had to marvel at her thick skin. I blinked in disbelief. This girl was something else. Really something else—she might even be worse than me.

The question was, who would she end up with? Percy or Felix? Because there definitely seemed to be something between them.

Tita forced a smile at her. "I-is that so?"

"Yes. By the way, where is Percy?"

I noticed how tightly she gripped the potholder. She also couldn't meet Honey's gaze. Clearly, something was off, or rather, she was hiding something.

"H-he's not here."

Honey's eyebrow immediately shot up. It looked like she noticed that something was off with Tita too.

"Where—?"

"Mama! Your food is burning!" A child's voice shouted from the doorway.

Tita panicked and rushed inside to check on her cooking. I followed, wanting to see who had spoken. I smiled when I saw her and her blue eyes.

Dalia.

"Hello, do you remember me?" I asked, crouching slightly to be at her level.

She brushed aside the long hair covering her face. She smiled at me and nodded.

"Ate Jay-jay." She answered and hugged me.

I hugged her back and kissed her cheek. It had only been a few months since I last saw her, but she already seemed so much bigger. Kids really do grow up fast these days.

I heard Honey clear her throat behind me. I let go of Dalia and turned to her.

I almost forgot about her. I just missed Felix's baby girl so much. Even though she's a little creepy, I still love her.

"Dalia, the youngest sibling of Felix and Percy," I introduced her.

She slightly bowed and smiled at Dalia. "Hello Dalia, you have beautiful eyes."

Dalia's eyes widened, and she pointed at Honey's face before shouting, "Witch!"

I was startled by what she yelled, so I quickly covered her mouth. When I glanced at Honey, her glare could melt us on the spot.

"Excuse me?!" she said irritably.

"D-don't mind that. S-she doesn't even know what that means," I lied with a smile.

Just believe it, dammit!

"Whatever. Where is your brother Percy?" she asked Dalia.

I removed my hand from covering her mouth. Dalia looked at Honey but said nothing. I couldn't help but feel nervous. What if I accidentally hurt her without realizing it?

I turned to Dalia and smiled. "Is there something wrong?"

She leaned close to my ear and whispered, "Kuya said she's a thief… A Purity Thief. He told me not to talk to her."

What the—?! That blue-eyed lunatic! Why would he teach a kid that? If he's not abnormal, I don't know what he is!

Before I could say anything, she ran inside the house where her mom had gone. I scratched my head and faced Honey.

"I-I think Percy isn't here," I said.

She clearly wasn't convinced. She suddenly stormed into the house, yelling my idiot brother's name.

So stubborn! So annoying!

"Where the hell are you, Percy?!" Honey shouted.

Dalia and her mother came out of the kitchen. The little girl clung to the hem of her mom's shirt, watching the woman who was shouting at the top of her lungs.

Honey even went upstairs. Tita was shocked and immediately followed her.

Dalia and I were left alone until she suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the backyard.

This was where I met Percy before when he was hiding from his friends and family. We stopped in front of the bathroom where he once dragged me inside.

I think I already know.

I opened the bathroom door and looked up at the ceiling. The panel covering the hole wasn't completely shut.

"Percy," I called softly, just loud enough for him to hear.

Moments later, the panel moved, and my crazy brother's blue eyes peeked through.

"Hi, Jay. Is she still there?" he whispered.

I nodded at him. "What did you do? Why is she hunting you down?"

"I didn't show up for our date last night."

I glanced inside the house before turning back to him. "Date? Are you two together now?"

He quickly shook his head. "That witch is so persistent."

I just shook my head while laughing. Of all people, he had to say that word. He of all people. HIM, OF ALL PEOPLE?!

"Don't you want to repeat what happened between you two before?" I teased.

He suddenly cringed in disgust. "She violated my purity, and you think I'd do it again? Hell no!"

His last words were a bit too loud, making them echo inside the bathroom. I quickly looked toward the house, but it seemed no one heard him.

"Violated"… that's deep!

"You. Stop teaching Dalia those words," I scolded him.

"She doesn't even know what they mean," he replied.

I rolled my eyes. He really is an idiot. I swear, I want to turn his blue eyes red.

"Fine. I'll drag her out of here so you can come out." I pointed at him. "You owe me."

"Thanks, sista," he said flamboyantly and winked.

I closed the bathroom door and took Dalia's hand to lead her back inside. I could hear Tita and Honey talking.

"Ate Jay-jay," Dalia called. "What's 'purity'?"

Oh, for crying out loud… Here we go.

I scratched my head. "It's something your Kuya Percy has… but you wouldn't really notice."

She nodded as if she accepted my answer. I couldn't help but laugh. I knew she didn't really understand. She's still too young to explain something like that to.

When we got inside, the bee looked completely stressed out. She ran her fingers through her hair multiple times while making phone calls.

Tita glanced at us, as if she had something to ask. She probably knew where her crazy son was hiding. I just smiled and subtly gave her a thumbs-up.

She sighed in relief, and her worried expression faded. She turned back to Honey, who was now furiously staring at her phone.

A deep sigh, followed by a scream, escaped Honey's lips. Dalia got a little scared and hid behind me. Honey turned to us, smiling—looking like a lunatic about to lose her mind. Or maybe she really had already lost it.

"When Percy comes back, tell him to answer my calls. I'll be leaving now," she said before storming out of the house.

"Wait!" I called after her.

She was about to leave me behind when she was the one who brought me here. She's really got a loose screw in her head.

I said goodbye to Dalia and her mom, telling them I'd come back when I had time. I also apologized for the trouble this She-Devil caused.

I ran outside to catch up with Honey. Luckily, she was just about to get into her car, so I managed to reach her.

"Hey! Hey! Oh wow! Maybe you should at least wait for me first." I said, pointing at her.

"Whatever! Get in!" she shouted at me.

This girl is unbelievable. Just because she didn't see Percy, she's already losing her mind. But it's her own fault—if she hadn't kept pestering him, he wouldn't have hidden from her.

I got into her car and slammed the door shut. She didn't say anything about what I did, so I just let it go.

She's rich anyway; she can buy as many cars as she wants.

She was obviously still annoyed about the hide-and-seek incident with Percy. Meanwhile, I was dying to ask her about what she said regarding Keifer. How should I even start asking her?
