✿ CHAPTER 17 ✿
"Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, your table is right this way" A female waitress walked up to us with a smile.
My parents nodded as we followed behind her.
This restaurant looked like a very classy one, mainly for celebrities I guess. The bright lights were too much as it hurt my eyes, I tried looking away from the light as I gazed down at the floor. While walking My mom suddenly turned to face me as she whispered.
"Are you ok?" I was startled, Did my Mom just ask me if I was ok?
"Uhm, yeah, I'm good" I looked at her, and she nodded and looked away as she continued walking behind My dad. I sighed
The CEO was nowhere to be seen when we arrived at our table, wasn't the CEO supposed to be here before us?
"Take a seat Amelia" My dad pulled out a seat for me and my mom, the round table had two seats each, opposite each other. At least we kept the fourth seat for the CEO. I felt both nervous and excited at the same time as I fiddled with my fingers. My mom sat next to me and My dad sat opposite us, willing to sit next to the CEO.
A few moments later, the same waitress brought the menu and placed it on the table.
"Thanks" My Mom smiled at the waitress. I glanced at the door seemingly waiting to see anyone walk through it.
"The CEO will soon arrive" My Dad looked excited, and I smiled.
"He's here" Suddenly, My Dad smiled as he looked at the entrance, and both My mom and I turned our heads towards the entrance.
I first saw a pair of high-end handmade black leather shoes and high-quality expensive trousers. He had very tall legs. My gaze slowly trailed up, I saw his white shirt that offset his outstanding chiseled body, and without giving the coat slung on his shoulders more than a glance, my eyes trailed even higher.
In a flash, upon seeing the man's face, MY HEAD BLEW UP...NO FREAKING WAY!
My Jaw dropped when I saw Him...Leo-Leonard? I was shocked.
I could also see the surprise in his eyes before his eyes quickly turned unreadable as he walked towards our table.
Wait...why is he coming towards our table, he can't possibly be the CEO right? Right?
"It's my honest pleasure for Mr. Leonard to accept our invitation" My Dad stood up and My Mom smiled as well. My heart was racing as I sat still in my seat.
"Please, call me Leonard" Leonard smiled warmly as he took a seat next to My Dad.
LEONARD, LEONARD? So he's the CEO of the company My dad works in, and I'm just finding out now?
"This is my lovely daughter, Amelia. And My Wife, Stella" My Dad introduced us to Leonard. Leonard shook hands with My Mom.
"Amelia, greet our guest" My Dad looked at me and said.
Right now I couldn't even utter a word from my lips. It's like it was sealed by glue.
"I- good, good evening, sir" My voice was small and soft, and I could feel my heart in my throat.
Leonard just glanced at me with a nod before discussing with my parents.
"Why didn't you guys order something yet?" Leonard asked with a slight frown.
"It will be very rude of us to order something without waiting for you to arrive" My Dad laughed.
"Oh, it's fine then. We can order now, right?" Leonard asked glancing at my parents.
"Yes, yes, of course, yes" My Mom smiled.
While they were eating and discussing, I'd frequently glance up at Leonard before diverting my gaze back to my food.
"Seems like your daughter is the quiet type huh?" Leonard asked without looking up from his food.
My dad laughed warmly "Actually she can be quiet at times. She's a college student and doesn't have many friends"
My expression turned gloomy when I saw they were both striking up a conversation about me...and did Leonard ask if I was even in college?
"Hmm?" Leonard slightly knitted his perfect brows together.
"Yes she is, she's in her final year," My Mom said calmly while eating.
I looked up only to see Leonard suddenly gazing at me with intensity...I had a Jump scare as I spilled my wine all over my dress.
"Shit!" I cursed under my breath.
"Are you ok Amelia?" My Dad stood up and walked towards me as he examined my dress.
"Don't worry Dad, it's nothing much" I forced a smile.
"Here" Without too much thought, Leonard passed me a napkin to wipe off the stains.
I looked at him before taking the napkin from him "Thanks" Our fingertips brushed slightly against each other, it felt like my hand was suddenly electrified.
I quickly wiped off the stains. Without looking up at him, I had to avoid this man's gaze. What right did he have to look at me that way, Hmph!
"Go to the bathroom and clean up yourself," My Mom said and I nodded, finally having an excuse to leave the table. Why didn't I think of this sooner?
