Chapter 1 - Millie

Title: Millie's High School Adventure

Episode 1: The First Day

The sun beamed through Millie's bedroom window, filling the room with a warm glow. It was the first day of high school, and excitement buzzed in the air. Millie bounced out of bed, already anticipating the new experiences, the people she'd meet, and maybe—just maybe—a fresh start.

As she moved through the hall, she called out cheerfully, "It's going to be a great day! I have to go and wake up Rachel!"

She dashed to Rachel's door, her best friend and cousin, and gently tapped. "Rachel, Rachel…" she whispered, her voice growing louder with each call.

Rachel groaned from under the blankets, "Stop screaming and go get ready! We're going to be late, you know."

Millie chuckled to herself. Rachel was the kind of student who never missed an assignment, stayed calm under pressure, and always looked out for her. For Millie, she was like the big sister she'd never had.

"Yes, Chef!" Millie giggled, playfully saluting as she darted back to her room to change.

As she buttoned her school uniform, Millie paused by her window, glancing across the yard to her neighbor's house. Through an upstairs window, she caught sight of Alex, Ted's older brother. Unlike Ted, who was lively and outgoing, Alex was the quiet, mysterious type. He had an air of calm that made Millie feel oddly curious about him.

Just then, Rachel's voice echoed through the house. "Millie, you have one second to come down now! Breakfast is getting cold!"

"Coming, coming!" Millie replied, grabbing her bag.

At the kitchen table, Rachel handed her a small note. "Here, your dad left this for you before he went to work."

Millie's face fell as she unfolded the note. "A letter again? Can't he just call? I know he's busy, but it's my first day…"

Rachel sighed, patting her shoulder. "At least you get to hear from him. Now stop complaining. We're going to be late, and you know I hate that."

Millie took a deep breath, glancing at the note one more time before tucking it away. Her dad was always traveling for work, but it was harder to deal with today. Still, she didn't want to seem ungrateful in front of Rachel, who hadn't seen her own dad in months.

As they stepped outside, they were greeted by the familiar, grinning face of Ted, their childhood friend. "Hey, Mil!" he called, giving her a playful nudge.

"Hey, Teddy! Ready for school?" Millie replied.

"Come on, just call me Ted," he chuckled, rolling his eyes. "We're not kids anymore."

Millie smirked. "Sure, Teddy. Oh, is Alex already gone?"

"Yeah, he left early," Ted replied, a bit exasperated that Millie had ignored his correction.

She gave a little shrug, muttering, "Oorh… Anyway, let's go."

They walked together toward the school, with Ted asking, "So, how do you feel about your first day of high school? Excited, right?"

"Too much!" Millie admitted. "I barely ate breakfast. I just hope I can meet good people and make some real friends."

Ted smiled reassuringly. "You will—I'm sure of it."

As they entered the busy hallways, Rachel waved and headed to her class. "See you after school!" she called.

"Okay, have a good day!" Millie replied, watching Rachel disappear into the crowd. Turning to Ted, she grinned. "Let's go face the world!"

Ted chuckled. "It's just class; you'll be fine. Here's your homeroom. I'd stay, but I have practice this morning."

Millie gave a brave smile, her nerves creeping in. "I'll be okay. No big deal."

He patted her shoulder. "See you at break!"

With a final wave, Millie stepped into the classroom, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves for the adventure ahead.

Part2:

Millie stepped into her classroom, heart pounding with nerves and excitement. I'm here, she thought to herself, nervous, but here.

As her gaze scanned the room, she spotted Alex sitting by the window, his face turned away and earphones in. She was about to head over and sit beside him when, suddenly, another girl slipped into the seat. Millie froze, watching as Alex, looking up, casually removed his earphones.

"Hey," he said, surprising Millie by speaking at all. "I saved this spot for her. You should move."

"Oh, sorry—I didn't know," the girl muttered, gathering her things and moving to another seat.

Millie could hardly believe her ears. Alex had actually spoken up for her, and it was the first time he'd said a word in front of her. She slid into the seat beside him, still in shock. She wanted to say thank you, but just as she was about to speak, the teacher entered the room.

Class felt endless as she waited for the break, glancing at Alex out of the corner of her eye, wondering how to strike up a conversation. But by the time the bell rang, he was already gone. She got up, heading into the hallway to look for him, but he was nowhere in sight. The girl from earlier noticed her searching.

"If you're looking for that guy who turned me down," the girl said with a playful smirk, "he already went out."

"Oh, I see. Sorry about that," Millie replied, feeling a little awkward.

The girl laughed, shaking her head. "I should be the one saying sorry! I thought he was…you know…taken."

Millie blinked in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"

"He's your boyfriend, right?"

Millie burst out laughing. "Not even close! I barely know the guy, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't even know my name."

The girl raised her eyebrows. "Interesting! So I still have a chance." She extended her hand with a grin. "By the way, my name's Liz—short for Lizette. Wanna be friends?"

Before Millie could reply, Ted came up behind her and playfully smacked the back of her head. "Hey, Millie. Didn't you want friends? Just say yes already!"

"Stop butting in, Ted! I was about to say it myself!" Millie protested, laughing.

Liz smiled, glancing between the two of them. "Nice to meet you, Ted. You two are really close, huh?"

Millie smirked, "Don't let him steal you, Liz. Hey, what do you like to eat?"

Liz grinned, clearly enjoying their playful banter. "I love sushi, but right now I'm obsessed with chicken wings."

Millie lit up. "No way! Ted's the same way. He'll eat every part of the chicken—especially if he's upset."

Ted rolled his eyes, chuckling. "I think you're talking about yourself, Millie." They all laughed together as they made their way to the cafeteria, getting to know each other over lunch.

As they were finishing up lunch, Liz glanced toward the hallway and spotted someone familiar. "Hey, Millie," she said, nudging her, "isn't that your 'friend' from class?"

Millie looked up and saw Alex walking back toward the classrooms. She felt her cheeks flush slightly. "Oh, he's not really my friend," she mumbled, embarrassed. "But, um…he did save me a seat this morning."

Liz raised an eyebrow with a teasing grin. "Interesting. Maybe he's got a soft spot for you."

Millie shook her head, laughing. "I doubt that. Alex barely talks to anyone."

With a laugh, they gathered their things and headed to class, Liz and Millie falling into step with easy, new-friend energy.

After school, Rachel came to check on Millie, ready to escort her home before heading to the library to study. Ted had training, so he couldn't go with her either.

Liz waved as she walked toward her dad's car. "See you tomorrow, Millie!"

"See you, Liz!" Millie called back.

Rachel grinned, giving Millie a little squeeze on the shoulder. "You're adorable. Call me if you need anything, okay?"

"Yes, Rachel, I know." Millie chuckled, watching her leave. Rachel sighed and glanced around. "Where's Alex when you actually need him? I mapped the road, but what if she gets lost?"

As Millie left school, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned to see Ted, ready to offer to walk her home, but he stopped short, surprised. His older brother, Alex, was already waiting for her.

"Hey," Alex said, looking slightly uncomfortable. "The house is this way. Come on, let's go together."

Millie blinked in surprise. "Alex, my savior! Wait, were you…waiting for me?"

He shrugged, looking annoyed. "I just know you're going to get lost. It's a pain."

Millie scoffed, her cheeks flushing. "I'm not stupid! I can figure out the map on my own. Besides, it's not polite to call someone stup—"

Before she could finish, Alex turned, his gaze sharp and serious. "I'm not my brother. Just walk and be quiet."

Millie fell silent, stunned by his bluntness, and they walked the rest of the way home in an awkward silence. When they reached her house, she barely managed to mumble a thank you before heading inside, replaying the whole interaction in her mind, confused and a little flustered.

That evening, it was Millie's turn to make dinner. Afterward, she returned to her room to study, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Alex. Out of curiosity, she looked out her window toward his room. She spotted him sitting by his window, a guitar in hand, playing a gentle, melodic tune that filled the night air. She watched in fascination, the music soft and haunting, until Alex caught her staring. His face immediately hardened, and he closed his window, even pulling down the curtain.

Millie sighed, both annoyed and intrigued by his mysterious, distant demeanor. High school was turning out to be more complicated—and far more interesting—than she'd expected.

Part3 ( Final)

Millie stood in the hallway, frowning. Why is he mad? she thought, her mind swirling with the memory of Alex's rude demeanor. He's the one who snapped at me, yet he's acting like I did something wrong! Maybe I actually preferred the silent Alex—at least he was less complicated. But who knew someone with such a nice voice could have such a prickly personality?

Just then, Ted strolled over. "Hey, Millie. I'm back."

She forced a small smile, thinking, Here comes the savior of that family. "Hey, Teddy. How was training?"

"Tiring. I'm off to rest now. See you tomorrow. Goodnight, Mill."

"Goodnight, Teddy," she replied, watching him walk away, feeling a little more at ease with his familiar warmth.

The next morning at school, Millie froze, patting her bag. "Oh no, I forgot my book at home! How could I be so careless?" She was still fretting when she felt a light tap on her head. Turning around, she saw Alex, holding a textbook.

"We can use mine if you want," he offered with a faint smirk.

"Well, that's surprisingly nice of you," she replied, surprised by his gesture.

"Yeah, since you were too careless to bring yours," he said with a shrug, teasingly pulling a chair beside him. He raised a hand and addressed the teacher. "Excuse me, we're sharing a book. I accidentally left mine at home."

The teacher gave them a nod. "All right, but make sure to bring it next time. Now, let's continue."

Millie couldn't help but study Alex out of the corner of her eye, noticing his fresh scent and sharp eyes that seemed to remind her of something just out of reach. I've never been this close to him before… why does he seem familiar?

"Can you focus?" Alex muttered, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Stop daydreaming for once. You're such a pain."

So rude! Millie thought, rolling her eyes.

After class, the teacher assigned them homework. As the students chorused their acknowledgment, Millie packed up her things, glancing at Alex. "So… are we walking home together again?"

He raised an eyebrow, leaning in close. "Still haven't memorized the way home yet, huh?"

"What? No, I just thought it'd be normal to walk together since we're going in the same direction!" she huffed.

Alex shook his head, amused. "Teddy doesn't have practice today, so he's coming to get you. Might as well stay put and be a good girl for him."

As Alex walked away, Millie sighed in frustration. Her friend Liz leaned over, whispering, "That's weird, but… maybe he's just trying to help in his own strange way."

Millie shook her head, baffled. "It's only been two days, and I don't understand him at all. I thought calling him 'mysterious' was fitting, but maybe it was a mistake."

Just then, Ted arrived. "Hey, girls! What's up? What's a bad idea?"

Millie brightened at his arrival. "Teddy! Since you don't have practice, would you like to walk home together?"

Liz gave Millie a wink. "With views like this, I love our friendship. See you tomorrow, guys!" she called, rushing off to meet her dad.

As they strolled home, Ted bought Millie an ice cream, and they stopped by a nearby park. Sitting on the swings, Ted nudged her. "So, how was your day?"

"Pretty calm," Millie replied, then hesitated. "Actually… can I ask you something?"

"Of course," he replied, giving her a reassuring nod.

"It's about your brother, Alex," she began, choosing her words carefully. "You two are so different. You're kind, thoughtful, and patient… but Alex… he's like the complete opposite."

Ted chuckled. "Yeah, Alex can be rough around the edges, but he's not all bad. Deep down, he's kind too—he just doesn't show it much."

Millie frowned, unconvinced. "I must be missing something then, because so far, he's just been rude. I thought he'd be cool, like you, but… honestly, he's a bit of a disappointment."

Ted burst out laughing, clearly amused by her bluntness. "You're the first person to complain about Alex! Sorry, it's just… unexpected."

He glanced at her thoughtfully, his eyes narrowing with playful suspicion. "You're not secretly taking a liking to him, are you?"

Millie's face reddened. "What? No way! I'm just curious since we're in the same class, that's all."

Later that night, Ted returned home and went up to Alex's room. Leaning against the doorframe, he called out, "Hey."

Alex glanced up, clearly unamused. "What do you want?"

"Nothing, just… chatting," Ted replied, sitting down. "What are you doing with Millie?"

Alex arched an eyebrow. "Afraid I'll take her from you?"

Ted sighed. "You know what I'm asking. Just tell me—do you like her?"

Alex smirked. "Would it matter if I did?"

Ted narrowed his eyes. "So you do like her."

"I never said that," Alex replied, dismissing him with a shrug.

Ted shook his head, a knowing smile on his face. "Just… treat her right, okay? She deserves that."

Alex gave a sarcastic laugh. "Like you're so certain you can protect her? Spare me your advice."

Ted exhaled, standing up. "At least I know you care. That's all I wanted to hear." With that, he shut the door behind him, leaving Alex alone with his thoughts.

As the door closed, Alex glanced out the window, catching a glimpse of Millie's house. He shook his head, mumbling to himself, "Mister Perfect… he's the one who'll make her cry soon." His gaze lingered, filled with an intensity only he understood.
