Chapter 24 - THE AWAKENING

The phone rang again and again. Everyone urged Baba to answer it, but his face was filled with fear and panic. Sweat dripped down his forehead as he sat frozen. All eyes were on him, questioning, pleading. Yet Baba remained silent. Finally, the call ended. Baba sat on the bed beside Mirshad, his eyes brimming with tears and deep concern. He knew who had called, what they wanted, and what they were capable of. More importantly, he knew that only Mirshad could face what was coming. But fear for Mirshad's future gnawed at him.

With a trembling voice, Baba asked, "Do you remember anything that happened yesterday?"

Mirshad looked confused. "I... I don't know. Everything comes and goes in my mind. I saw many people with weapons, but after a moment, everything went black. Something was talking to me, taking control. But I don't know what it was."

Suddenly, Mirshad noticed Jabir staring at him strangely. "What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Mirshad asked.

Jabir shook his head in disbelief. "Bro... look at you! Yesterday you had a big tummy, and now—six-pack abs and muscles! Whatever woke up inside you, it's permanent."

The room fell silent. Everyone stared at Mirshad, realizing they had been so distracted by the phone call that they hadn't noticed his transformation. Panic and fear filled the room as memories of last night's unknown fight resurfaced.

Suddenly, the door burst open. Mirshad's father rushed in, his face pale with worry. Without a word, he hugged Mirshad tightly. "My son, are you okay? I was terrified when Baba showed me the CCTV footage. I couldn't stay away after seeing that."

Looking at Baba, Mirshad's father asked, "Did you tell him? Did you tell him about his past?"

Baba sighed. "Not yet."

Mirshad's heart pounded. "What past? What's going on? I need to know! Everything is strange—I can't take this anymore!"

Baba nodded solemnly. "Alright. But you must listen carefully."

He began to reveal the truth. Mirshad learned about the lightning incident that occurred before his birth, how his powers had been hidden from him, and how his father had tried to protect him by controlling his emotions and shielding him from anything that could trigger his abilities.

Tears welled up in Mirshad's eyes. "So... these powers? I was born with them?"

His father nodded. "Yes. I feared that if you knew too early, you wouldn't be able to control them. As your father, I was scared of what the future might hold for you."

For a moment, silence filled the room. Mirshad took a deep breath. "No one will use my powers for evil. I promise."

Baba broke the silence. "We have no time. We must leave this country immediately. Shaji , you must return to your home country. I will take care of Mirshad. Don't worry about money—I'll provide everything. Just give your bank account number to Sara. She will handle the rest."

Sara nodded. "Okay, Baba."

Mirshad's father hesitated but finally agreed. Before leaving, he embraced Mirshad. "Son, remember this: If anyone threatens our family or loved ones, don't hesitate. Show them the gates of hell."

As his father left, the atmosphere remained heavy. But before they could move, Baba received a video message. The footage showed Mama (Baba's wife), Sara's sister, and her friend. They had left the house for a function the previous day. The video ended, and the phone rang again.

This time, Mirshad answered the call and put it on loudspeaker. A chilling laugh echoed from the other end.

"How are you, Faisal? Enjoying your little escape game?" a sinister voice taunted.

Baba replied coldly, "I'm good, John. Better if you leave my wife and the others. This won't end well for you."

John laughed again. "Leaving? I called, but you ignored me. So, you hired a protector? Do you think you can escape me? Let me speak to him."

Mirshad's voice cut through the tension. "Speak."

"Oh, the angry man himself! But you've made a mistake. You've entered a war where death is the only reward. And I will personally ensure your death."

Mirshad's eyes burned with determination. "John, you made the real mistake. You invited a wrong person to this war. And I will show you that I never make promises I can't keep. Soon, you'll meet your god—not in heaven, not in hell, but here on Earth. I am your god. I am your devil. I am your judgment."

A moment of silence followed before John laughed darkly. "Then come. I'm sending you the location. Let's see if your words hold weight. Oh, and Faisal, you might want to hurry. I'm not sure how long your wife can hold on—she's bleeding out. I cut her vein because she screamed too much. Today will be your last day."

The call ended. The room fell into despair. The clock was ticking. John had made his move.

Without wasting a second, Baba and Mirshad prepared to leave. Fear gripped their hearts, but there was no room for hesitation. The enemy was waiting. Mirshad didn't know if his powers would rise again when needed, but he was sure of one thing: there would be no giving up—not until death.
